I just love Patrick Stewart. I grew up watching him as Captain Picard. As an adult, I learned about Patrick Steward beyond being an actor, everything he does for women's rights. His amazing friendships and other non-tv/movie acting. They often say don't meet your heroes but I can't imagine being anything but delighted and amazed if I got to meet him.

We all grew up with them. I remember being little and TNG was THE show for INSPIRATION, BELIEVING IN A BETTER FUTURE, and POSITIVITY. It was so full of charm and GREATNESS!!! Gosh i am SO HAPPY to se them reunite after all this time and being all great together again! They are part of my life and hope for a greater humanity! The 2 highlights for me as a fan were; sharing the "Vulcan hand greeting" with Mr. Nimoy and shaking his hand AND giving flowers to Miss Nichols and getting a KISS from her!! There is a part of me that wants nothing more than to give Patrick Stewart a hug. Something about him just gives off a healing property… But whether I ever get the chance to meet him or not, there are few people that elicit so much joy at the mere mention of there name He is one of the few people outside my immediate friends and family that I genuinely dread losing one day: Patrick Stewart Patton Oswalt Weird Al Jonathan Davis David Grohl Each have played a role in who I’ve become today from an environmental aspect. Davis’ seemingly endless battles with psychological/emotional pain and tragedy but always pushing to overcome it… Patrick Stewart as Picard rising to any challenge while doing everything he can to keep those close to him safe… Patton for being able to use comedy and laughter to help process pain and loss or simply to not let a terrible day consume you… Grohl’s music, similar to Davis’, is an outlet that I’ve come to use as a means to purge myself of negative emotions or energy and give myself a mental reset rather than bottle up those emotions… and Weird Al has always been there with a new spin on something and that no matter how bizarre your interests are, that you should always embrace what makes you happy; even if it’s dancing around like a dork with an accordion, just be yourself and make the most of what you have I wouldn’t say they are my “heroes” per-say say but for the indirect influence on my life during and since my formative years, I have a deep appreciation for each (and many others)

One thing I really love about TNG is that it's not just a great family on screen, but also off-screen. Their rapport with each other and their friendship is so wonderful. The ease and familiarity of their interactions also translates to beautiful on-screen chemistry. I have to think of the famous passage from Tennyson: “Though much is taken, much abides; and though We are not now that strength which in old days Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are; One equal temper of heroic hearts, Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.”

Patrick sounds the same as my grandfather used to sound when he speaks in his local dialect from South Yorkshire. I’ve only ever heard him speak like that a handful of times…but every single time it brings back the memories. He grew up in/very near to the same town as him. In fact, he may well have even frequented the same pubs as my Grandfather or shopped in some of my Grandmother’s family’s shops.

Among the serious things Sir Pat Stew might have wanted to say: How he came to the set with the mindset of an earnest, theater-trained actor and began his time on ST quite put off by all the joking going on--joking that, in hindsight, was part of what not only loosened him up, but helped the Next Gen cast become such a close-knit troupe! I've heard that story from the great man's lips in other interviews, btw. When you see them all in the final scene of Picard season 3, one thing is very, very clear to me: They're not acting anymore, in the sense that all guards are down and they are being allowed to be themselves; genuine friends, whose influence on science fiction and television will last for generations to come.

CBS studios did a fantastic, almost believable, amazing job with Picard's 3 Seasons. He's almost 90 years old, so his TV son Jack will mostly likely take Star Trek into the New Generation. I first saw Sir Patrick Stewart in I Claudius in1976 since then have been a fan of his acting be it stage or screen, he was great in Excalibur (1981) and Dune (1984) also. A true Yorkshireman.
