Never forget this man is part of a cult that extorts the weak minded and desperate and actively campaigns for them and recruits for them. A cult that a history of criminal activity. Not only that, but he is an unapologetic narcissist. Every movie he is in, he demands it be rewritten to give him more screen time, more dialog, to make him a bigger hero, etc. For example that terrible Mummy remake was such a dumpster fire because of changes he forced them to make. He is a good actor. Thats very true. But when he is acting like this good, benevolent person, that is all it is... Acting.

I like how in the movie the young ones keep calling him old. It's very rare in Hollywood where they try to pretend age does not exist.
@angelbob77

The original Top Gun came out in 1986... Tom Cruise was probably 23 or 24 when he filmed it. He's almost 60 years old now. People who were 8 or 9 years old when the first Top Gun came out have been inspired by the movie, joined the Navy, graduated IRL Top Gun, become instructors, and have retired. So yes he is old lmao. Probably several generations, three wars, and six Presidents older than anyone that would still be serving today. The first movie came out before the Soviet Union and Berlin Wall fell and when Reagan was still in office. The premise that he's still a captain and he's still flying and kicking the ass of all these young guys is already ridiculous so why the hell would they pretend that he's still just as young as he was in the OG movie? He's probably two or three times the age of everyone he's teaching. It's the only logical course of action lol

Just got out of seeing Top Gun Maverick... Man.. what a f*cking experience..ive not been this satisfied with a movie in years! im so glad I was able to see this masterpiece in the best way on the big screen as it was meant to be. The emotion and the thrills.. such an unforgettable film. I even got abit teary eyed and during one of the best and arguably the best scene in the movie.. Thank you Val Kilmer.🙏 As someone who grew up watching the original, and slowly over the years gained much respect for the first movie, and who honestly never thought id see the day where we'd even get a sequel, given the amount of work and effort needed to pull something like this off, boy im glad we did. What an absolute sendoff for Pete "Maverick" Mitchell himself. Thank you, Tom Cruise for your work and dedication to making this movie the best possible experience. Man.. What a f*cking ride it was! WHOOOO!!👌😎👌

Tom Cruise is the last of the Hollywood superstars. So what if he’s not “the best actor”? He is the biggest movie star alive. He’s single handedly brought us back out to the movies. He should be given a special Oscar for saving Hollywood as well as best film, best cinematography, best editing, best director etc. It should be a sweep in my opinion.

I met Tom Cruise, briefly, during the red carpet reception of this then-new film "Oblivion" at the Odeon Theater in downtown Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Of course the reception was cordoned off and body guards were doing their best to keep anyone from getting anywhere near the stars. Somehow I managed to get Tom's attention for a brief moment and shook hands with him over the cordon. I will say that Tom Cruise is the most charismatic person I've ever met, and I've met quite a few famous persons. His glow precedes him and when he makes contact, he truly looks you in the eye. For a brief moment, it's clear you're the only person in the universe for him. He means it.

Dude is 59. Regardless of what anyone thinks of him, he's in incredible shape. He really takes care of himself, lives life to the fullest, you just sense the energy from him. And he's still doing interviews, travelling the world. A dying breed of a movie star for sure. And the biggest catch is that I feel that beneath the movie star smiling look, Cruise I think is much more serious, much more focused and IMO he more enjoys riding fast bikes, cars, flying planes, discussing technicalities, logistics, etc. than making movies or chatting on talk shows - I think he just happened to end up as a movie star. I wish one day he would be able to just drop the movie star act completely and just be himself and cool with it, because he's earned it.

That's a BS answer, especially for someone who supposedly is passionate about movies. Just total BS. At OCS, and also at flight school her bunkmate Natalie is the woman who was Obama's pilot. She was commissioned on Aug 11, 2001. Thirty days later the world changed. My kid washed out at Pensacola and never got her wings. She had an inner ear condition that kicked in at a certain g-force. She stayed in though (USMC). Did about 12 years. Today, she's a wife & mother, married to a great guy who she met in OCS. He's a Lt. Col now, on the list for a full bird Col shot and is hoping for a star. For years when people asked me who my favourite actor was I’d say I don’t have one, but over the last few weeks I’ve been rewatching Tom cruise movies and god damn is he great, he’s been killing it for decades. He is my favourite actor. Regardless of his religion and personal life, he seems like a top guy and his dedication to cinema is second to none.

I literally had to hold back the tears in this film, nostalgia, emotion reminisce of Goose and knowing that this film is so worth the 36 year wait. I was nearly 7 when the original came out and watched it the moment it was released on VHS, we fought on the playground at school for being Mavericks or Gooses. The sound track of the original was played endlessly that summer from anything that had a speaker attached. This film had all the emotion and feel of 1986. I can't remember the last time a movie totally controlled my emotions 💯

Tom really loves the cinema and that can be seen from all of his films, whether it be learning sleight of hand for MI1, becoming a champion level pool player for the color of money, flying helicopters and fighter jets ,or doing his own stunts in every movie, Tom just never cuts any corner by using stunt double or CGI. One of the last remaining actors who give us the real cinematic experience and for this reason he will always be my favorite actor. And I have nothing against CGI either I love movies like Avatar and Dune that showed us things we never saw before, but those theme parks CGI movies where actors dress-up like cartoons and still end up making billions really surprise me. I hope more people start appreciating what the real film making is about.

Went to see it yesterday, and I was hoping this movie would’ve been worth the hype everyone was previously taking about since movies haven’t been the greatest in the last 3 years. I didn’t look into the movie much because I didn’t want to spoil it for myself. So I had no idea if it was as good as I was expecting. Well it blew my mind. That is single-handedly the best movie I’ve ever seen in theaters. This movie was long awaited for all of the viewers! We needed this, what a game changer! This movie kept me on my toes, and the emotional moments hit pretty hard, it made me emotional at times. I loved every part of this movie. Never thought I’d ever see a great movie like this ever again. I can’t even stop thinking about how great it was. I ado want to mention that I’ve always had a love and burning desire to join the Navy, but I haven’t yet. I’m only 18, and still have some years to join if I wanted to. Of course not as a Topgun aviator pilot or anything like that, but to fight for our country and train to push myself through limits I thought I could never even reach. This movie has really made me want to join now. Just shows how charismatic the cast was… I love it!
