I watched the original movie with my dad back in the 90s. He was a pilot and I was around 6 years old back then. It had such a big impact on me and years later we just watched Top Gun Maverick and he's retired and I'm a pilot. Just a great moment there.

At least he got a bit of redemption and slowly turned around. Seeing him going out to help the two and actually acting like a team with everyone on the beach shows his growth. When I saw how he was, I definitely saw him as a team player.

So Glen I myself was a recruit in the Navy 3/26/86 and was on graduation weekend from boot camp in Great Lakes IL when this movie was in theaters and I first saw it there. I'm bonded to the first film and you boys ALL OF YOU (TOM) made sure of that!! I enjoyed Top Gun Maverick for sure even though I was no airman I was a Nuke.

Ive just watched it, two days ago and it IS one of the BEST movies I have SEEN in many many many YEARSSSSSSSSSSSS...............towards the end I thought, oh no.....Maverick is gonna die in this movie........then????? awwwwwwwwwwwww Rooster saves him, then they're both toast then BOOM....Hangman flies in to save the day. The flying scenes were exelerating. Definitely had those good ole 90s feels as well. 10/10 for me.

Glenn Powell is quite an amazing character in the movie as Hangman, the character simmiar to Ice Man. He's a superb actor. I watched his film "Anyone But You" some time ago, and he played a fantastic role in it. After Tom Cruise, if I was looking forward to anyone in "Top Gun Maverick," it's definitely Glenn Powell. They're casting Miles Teller in "Top Gun 3," but in my opinion, Glenn Powell should have been given the lead role. He deserves more.
