HAPPY NEW YEAR 2025!! Hopefully 2025 sees prices for thermal coming down even MORE. Quality 384 at around $1000 and I'll buy.

We have no current plans to review DNT optics. They are offering scopes to people who will give them positive reviews. We do not participate in that and we stay away from companies that do.
@Nooch450r5 күн бұрын
That's exactly why people want guys like you doing real reviews on them. We interested in it's actual function for price point. There is nothing on the market that comes close to the features for the price. Why not do an honest review?
@danboone96745 күн бұрын
@@TheLateNightVisionShow So you only do reviews on what? Sponsor equipment? Select optics? Let's hear an HONEST review of the DNT products many of us are very interested. Never mind I see you don't sell DTN and therefore have no reason to review them. Best of luck

Sad to hear NV isn’t getting the love it deserves. As a coyote hunter in the west I really like the NV for better animal id in brushy country. I thinks there’s room for both NV and thermal
@TheLateNightVisionShow5 күн бұрын
There’s room for both but with thermal prices being pushed down so low digital NV has become an unprofitable technology for manufactures.

good advice about the 18650s. This has been an issue in flashlights for years.
@Lightwalker19786 күн бұрын
Yep. I have a couple of recently-manufactured name-brand NV scopes that came with 18650 batteries that are too fat to fit in my name-brand IR illuminator that I use with said scopes.

Yes sir we had another customer with the 18650 fitment issues today.

These southern boys are fun to listen to. I watch them routinely and have purchased stuff from their website. However, they are the only podcast on the internet where you can set the phone down, come back in 5 minutes, and they are still talking about what they are going to talk about - so you never missed a thing!

Totally agree, long range shooting (any range at which you are dialing or holding over with a bow or gun sight) should be mastered DURING THE DAY before beginning to train at night

The ballistic calculator is great for extending your range a little. Adjusting for proper drop at 300 or 400 yds is great. If you can't hit a small target at 400 or 500 yards, you shouldn't expect the scope to fix that.

Great show. Interesting thoughts on LRF and ballistics and the industry exiting of Digital Day/Night scopes. I agree that unless shooting subsonic, airgun or crossbows 95% of us will not really need the ballistics calc to make an ethical shot with a thermal. In my personal opinion the combination of LRF with ballistics and Digital Day/Night is a great. With these higher end sensors in the DNV sites you can easily identify and shoot out to 500 yards with a good IR. I am a gadget guy and switch to shooting subsonic on hogs just to be able to take advantage of the LRF. I am sad to hear that major players are exiting the digital NV market. One of my favorite ways to use thermal and DNV is to use my Telos scanner for location and identification and then switching to DNV to record and shoot (the videos are just better when sharing). I just picked up an AGM Spectrum 4k (sorry not from Legacy Outdoors, I had a bunch of big box gift cards). I was really hoping to see more 4k and eventually 6 or 8k DNV sites. What are your thoughts on the multi spectral scopes. I know Pulsar came out with theirs a couple of years ago and I did not see it really take off. I am sure you have heard of DNTs ThermNite stuff. It seems to have a cult following. The videos of both Thermal and DNV in the same unit are very intriguing. I just watched where someone was showing how they could see a rabbit a 75 yards with the thermal but because of the grass and dew you could not see the animal with the DNV. Do you think we will see this trend ramping up with other brands?
@TheLateNightVisionShow5 күн бұрын
Good comments. Sorry we didn’t do well enough to earn your business on the Spectrum. DNT is offering scopes if people will give them positive reviews. The following is forming on fake reviews and that are being bought and paid for. We’ve have had them offered to us as well and we obviously refused.

As far as 18650 batteries go, the Streamlight micro usb rechargeable button tops are great. They absolutely work in all my different thermal devices (scopes, monoculars and flashlights) and they aren’t some Chinese off brand/knock off, and they are available EVERYWHERE. And as far as the IRay Bolt battery extender, the Apex 3D works with button tops

Far as 18650’s I only buy AGM’s or Sniper Hog Lights they all work good no issues.

The SHL batteries are too large in diameter for a lot of thermal optics. It’s a mess.

What do you think about dnt
@TheLateNightVisionShow4 күн бұрын
DNT is offering people scopes if they will give them positive reviews. The DNT following/interest is coming from fake reviews that are being bought and paid for. We’ve have had this offer made to us as well and we obviously refused. Things could change in the future but we currently have no faith in DNT as a trustworthy brand.

The length difference is most likely due to protected or unprotected battery. This is another 'challenge' of getting the right 18650 batteries.
