Thank you so much for your videos. I enjoy to watch them. Today I have a question. You said for cool grass start to throwing high nitrogen every 4-6 week. But I watch your another video and followed your another advice, where you recommended stress blend with high potassium instead of push growth with nitrogen?🤔🤔🤔What is correct? What better to do?🤔🤔

I've got a mole problem in my backyard even though I treat for grubs (even though my neighbors around me don't). One of my neighbors suggested using these poison worms, but I'm nervous about my puppy digging at them and accidentally eating one. I recently tried a trick where you stick a chunk of Juicy Fruit gum in the mole hole and they essentially die out since they are unable to digest the gum. It's been about 2 months and I haven't seen any new blow-outs.

I'd say that the "growth calendar for warm season grasses" is probably off this year....at least for Texas. We just had the hottest September on record in Austin, TX, and everyone's lawn checked out. Past 6 to 9 days have been in the mid to high 90's, which is great for Bermuda. Growth is finally back in a big way. And it's the greenest it's been since July!

Westcoast transplant that recently moved to N. Florida, so I'm battling a bit of a learning curve. Its the beginning of October, and I just moved in, is there anything special I should be doing considering this lawn is 13 months old and received zero love from the contractor who built this home. Been considering an over seeding and fertilization in the coming weeks, but what type of fertilizer and what type of grass seed? Thanks in advance, I'm a newb and I have bare spots of pure sand all over this property.

Ever since I threw down the Milo 9 days ago now this area that was all dirt because it was a planter area with river rock and granite boulders that area is almost long enough to mow. It spent the last 2 weeks thickening and adding more leaves to the single KBG plant

I have a bag of Scotts Starter Fertilizer 24-25-4 and an organic fert 9-2-2. If I put these down with seeds in Sept (1~1.5 lbs of N), Can I put down 3/4 lbs of N every 4 weeks until the last fall app ? I am a bit lost. I would appreciate if you could help me with this. Nice lawn Hane! I just moved into a new home earlier this September here in DFW and the sod the builder laid down is acting very weird. I water the lawn 1” per week two times a week. I applied Carbon X and Dithiopyr two weeks ago and the lawn looks the same. I mow twice a week for the past four weeks I’ve lived at the house with a manual reel mower around 1.25” too, so I’m not stressing the bermudagrass at all. Any suggestions to improve my lawn? I’m planning to get the Bio-Stimulant pack to help the lawn going into the fall. Thanks

Hmmmm...well, here goes. I live in Georgia (zone 7), and I broadcasted annual rye grass on my summer grasses. Instead of using an autumn, pre-emergent to attack my poa annua and dallas grass. Which have taken over most of my lawn. I did that because I didn't have a beautifully, green lawn during the summer. Because we've been in a drought all spring and summer (3-4 months). My lawn looked horrible. Although, I had a huge water bill, from watering twice a week, for many weeks. Hence, come spring, will I regret not using a pre-emergent to reduce my weed population (at least 50% of my lawn)???

First time Ive ever used is it this fall and my entire yard is still dark green and its looking better in October than any other time in 18 years I'm in my house. Even my 3/4 zoysia front yard (I cant WAIT to burn out the front yard for a KBG fescue mix) is still green, here in the northeast US where its in the high 60s and 40's night, when zoysia is dormant. same here, south MS. I slowed my watering anticipating rain and we got a drought instead , plus on top of spot spraying for weeds really nuked my hot spots near the road.

Same here. I noticed it in time and now I'm watering more frequently, the end result is my lawn is the greenest in the entire neighborhood. Water bills are over 120$ though

Kinda Funny...I'm in Dallas, Texas in the transition zone...half of my yard warm season (St. Aug) and half cool season (turf type tall fescue) with some corners of Bermuda...quite the sample platter --- Had to watch the whole vid!

No seed is available for St Aug. Must be grown from sod or plugs.

What is recommended to do for cold season grass if your lawn has a very high rate of weeds with some grass, cut low and overseed?

If you have at least 30% turfgrass there, then this is what I recommend thelawncarenut.com/collections/digital/products/cool-season-turf-hybrid-organic-lawn-program

Allyn, I've been watching hours of KZbin videos on lawn care and weed control (including Many of yours, Ryan Knorr, DoMyOwn, etc, etc)) and no one mentions using Atrazine (unless I specifically search for it) as a pre or post emergent yet its one of the most used herbicides in the U.S. and the basis of Scott's Weed and Feed empire....why does it seem to get ignored?
@Thelawncarenut
@Thelawncarenut 5 жыл бұрын
Atrazine is great for St Aug in winter or early spring for post and some ore emergent control. But for when it's over 85 there are much better options nowdays

Hard to mow or fertilize with a soggy lawn. About 8 inches of rain in under 2 weeks. Pretty sure all the seed I threw down washed away. Killing me not being able to mow.

I have seen no more mounds. I don’t want to dig up the areas where I covered the worms to check if they are gone because I overseeded and don’t want to disturb the baby grass any further.
