Not to mention Star Convoy and Super Megatron as well as Dai Atlas,Sonic Bomber and Roadfire,Japanese only Transformers getting released on Hasbro Pulse along with King Poseidon and God Neptune. Transformers G1 manga gets officially licensed by Viz Media and 2 more volumes coming up. Yeah..TF is dying alright. >.>

Transformers isn't dying it's just this generation of kids don't understand our figures basically reflecting G1 over and over and over again. Hasbro is doing this mostly for all of the older fans. Things like the Unicron Trilogy, Animated, Rescue Bots, RID, and Cyberverse is them getting the next generation of kids. What Habro is trying to decide to do is if they should let go of the whole G1 design altogether. Let 3rd party satisfy the older fans G1 needs while Hasbro and Takara can focus their efforts into making the next generation of Transformers fans.

Ben Ulrand well that's what they're doing with MP and all that and that's what mostly the other half of all the retail consumers are now jumping to. hasbro though doesn't seem to think releasing one character is enough anymore. it's gotta have a little guy too, or have the ability to cram a pointless third mode in, or have some sort of gimmick. the days of one mode, one accessory is gone

Hey Lazy Eyebrow, I love the Combiner wars Brawl intro, it was wonderful. I like to see different looks on stuff; like Transformers, intro, and stop motion. Your one of my favorite as a Reviewer. I, for one, love the Hasbro Generations stuff (for the most part) and can't afford anything Masterpiece or Third Party, so I'm all in when it comes to the the retail 'bots. But yeah, I think you're right, Transformers' relevancy is fading. I don't think it's going to die however; there'll probably be another drastic change in the same vein as Beast Wars that will bring it to the limelight again. P.S. Actually, according to Brian Goldner, Hasbro's CEO, their biggest I.P. right now is Nerf.

I share your pain about wishing retail jet Blastoff had been renamed Takeoff or something then getting shuttle Blastoff as an online exclusive later. I really liked the idea of expanding each team with an extra member who could function as replacement limb. It just really plays into the scramble city inerrability gimmick, even if I do mostly keep the merged teams in there default configurations. Similarly, I also use the extras to display and extra combiner, although in my case it's Galavatronus instead of Betatron. Anyway, combiner wars was one heck of a wild ride, but I'm sort of glad it's winding down now. We got some amazing figures out of it that I scarcely imagined possible, but collecting all those was also a rather notable financial drain.

Still waiting on Deluxe Brawn, Huffer, Gears, and Windcharger . . . I really liked how Bumblebee and Cliffjumper (disappointed he was a straight repaint) scaled with the other characters in the size class. I'm pretty sure transformers isn't dying, but i do understand what you mean. We still have the new movie line to look forward to, especially the new 'cons. Oh also Combiner Wars and Titans Return are both part of the Prime Wars Trilogy however we don't know what the third part of the trilogy will be and given the fact that we didn't get Predaking, Abominus, Pirannacon, Monstructor etc. during Combiner Wars, we might get something like this hopefully soon. Plus after TLK movie line we are probably getting a line for the upcoming SPOILERS: Bumblebee solo film which is rumoured to be mid next year. Transformers as a whole is fine.

what I think is that the issue is that the thing we need a is a full reboot of the brand. Not like 90s but like bring a TF show that isn't trying to suck off the glory of Prime, comics, or movies. But do what Prime or Beast Wars did to the franchise and rekindle our interests. Not trying to be G1 fully, but use the IPs they got in that sense as a revamp of our loved series

I've always thought that Hasbro should hire the story board team from Highmoon's "War for Cybertron" and "Fall of Cybertron" since in all cases they did a darn good job with the story in those games, a shame Activision didn't let them make a third game which would have the tutorial of waking the Decepticons in the wreckage on earth. I'm happy with the Takara versions of Bruitcus and Computtron and hope to find Wild Rider, but that's just me, looking forward to Trypticon since he's NOT a head master (Hasbro did listen to the rants I sent in), but no Blunt? And looking forward to Scorponok (which will be Fort-Max with Rock Lobster Claws). So what did you think of the Combiner Wars cartoon that you featured in your intro? I'm sorry to say I was quite disappointed after that long wait for a something that was more of the JP 3D Energon and more than meets the eye and a super merry-sue bot that I could care less for.. I decided to buy the Ordin (Not Abominus ) set and am quite happy, would you happen to know were I can get transformer stickers (without background) anywhere, they seem to have sold out? well I think it may be that toys as a whole are dying. kids have now been stereotyped to have a smartphone in hand wherever they go. with toys you got reviewers and original fans (such as yourself) that buy them to get a little nostalgic about the stuff you loved as a kid. think about it: transformers has the 1980's fans to support them, MLP has the audience it attracts to and the growing fanbase of bronies. I don't think this makes any sense but whatever. also I thought the abigal noises were adorable.

Actually Prowl-Optimus (the white one) combiner was awesome and inspired by the kickass IDW comics. I believe the future of TF's is in IDW comics. So many new and interesting characters! + the third part of the Prime Wars Trilogy will be called Power Of The Primes, hence the voting for the new prime, Primal.
