I actually like the wheels on his back, they look clean and actually looks well integrated rather than looking like annoying kibble. Like it kinda adds as ‘look, im a robot that turns into a truck!’ Sure, it’s not what most G1 designs depict, but it still looks nice to me.

Tbh earthrise prime is overrated. He is SUPER small and The matrix mold looks not good and the gun is stubby. And the transformation is too complex. Tbh the wheels look horrible and prime isnt painted much. The head sculpt is too acurate like uncanny valley and the matrix chamber isnt much. His wheels are just hanging off his butt like a butt flap and is 100% not removable. The transformation is so simple for my liking and they didnt even TRY to cover the feet. The finger articulation isnt individual and he has NO MOUTH MOVEMENT. The trailer sucks and is an excuse for the price. The weird gap in between the wheels and the trailer ruins it and it DOESNT COME WITH A ROLLER, AND ANTI AIRCRAFT GUN RADER, A SPIKE MINIFIGURE, A GAS HOSE OR SMTHIN, AN AXE, AND THE TRAILER DOOR BECOMES A STUPID SHIELD. Prime Cant even open his doors in his alt mode and theres a huge gap at the back of the truck. The trailer hinge is 5 milimiter which is BARELY compatible with other primes. This figure dissapointed me and Im lpoking for a better prime so i just threw away the earthrise figure. Overall 0.000001/10 it sucks

I like Earthrise Prime, but ultimately I prefer Siege and Studio Series, Siege because it keeps to G1 while also doing something new, Studio Series because its a stylized G1 Prime, but I still love Earthrise Prime, probably would have loved him more if he came first, but if he did I probably wouldn't have bough those other two amazing figures, though I hope WFC Kingdom doesn't give us another Prime, you perfected if Hastak, no need to try anymore, just keep releasing this one with different decos and accessories

TL;DR: Earthrise Optimus Prime is best described as the original Optimus toy, if it was designed in 2020. Let me just say that the only reason I haven’t bought it yet is because I’m a jobless incoming college freshman and won’t be able to afford it until Christmas. “That sucks” is an understatement. Edit: So I may have finally bought this figure, along with 5 others. I’m gonna be selling off some of my Prime Wars trilogy era toys on either Armatrix or Ebay depending on which attracts buyers faster to make up for the hole I just shot through my wallet with a fusion cannon.

@@The_Crimson_Shogun - Apparently it was a hoax or something because I had bookmarked a page that showed a listing for a Voyager Earthrise Prime without the trailer and had an image showing the grey part of his legs painted blue and the yellow eyes like the G1 toy. There is a lot to enjoy about this prime... and a lot to be disappointed in. I do not like the undersized trailer, and I also don't even want a trailer at all if I am being honest. I don't like the lack of white on the stripe on the side and how it was incomplete without roller. I do not live in the USA and prices in the country I live in range from 1.8x to 2.5x the MSRP in the USA. No disrespect to this toy, but for my dollar, I am happy with my Siege Prime. In fact, Cybertronian Transformers have really grown on me and I prefer them to earth modes. I wish that we had gotten a Wheeljack and Bee in a Cybertronian mode, even if reimagined. I dislike that Ironhide is just the Cybertronian mode with a shell on top.

You might remember that i made a comment on Optimus saying "get the rest of us re-booted" and i said that cybertronians are just big metal people, when in G1 continuity they were simply smart robots who could feel pain and think for themselves. Basically, even in stories where these large boys and girls were built by the quintessons, we shouldn't see them as machines, but simply as life forms made of metal. Because minicons are so dang similar to Mega man's reploids, save for having smaller heads relative to their body's, and transform into a multiple array of tools, household appliances, vehicles and animals.

I honestly adore this Optimus Prime figure, I can happily call this my definitive transforming G1 Prime, much how I consider MP-01/04 my definitive G1 Prime statue. He has problems, and mine especially came with slight shoulder deformation, and a loose shoulder port, but he still transforms without a hitch (unless you count the one for the trailer). I can honestly only say I have two complaints that aren't factory defects. The first is the shoulders. I loved posing my MP-01 to reach around his front, which unfortunately Earthrise Prime can't do. Disappointing, but far from a deal-breaker. The second issue? The back of the head. Why the heck they made the back of the head red, and painted an easily-chipped metallic blue over it is beyond me. The hands don't even have this problem for me, weirdly enough. Large portions of blue are missing from the antennas, and back of the head on mine, and that sucks horribly. I never had insentive to buy Siege prime, but just to replace the head I may find one being sold with missing parts for cheap. Besides that? Amazing figure, I couldn't recommend it more, but I will say if you don't care about the trailer, wait until the Netflix figures. There's rumor Earthrise Prime will be released without it, so if you don't mind the inevitable battle wear paint, wait it out for a better cost.

Finally got my hands on this figure, and it is as glorious. I don't think a Transformer has brought me this much nostalgic joy since the OG masterpiece Prime. I just can't put him down, can't stop transforming him back and forth to admire him from every intricate angle. Siege Megatron made me happy, but Earthrise Optimus makes me euphoric. It's almost enough to make me want to quit collecting, because I'm just not sure how anything could get better from here... or if it could, I'm not sure I could survive the overload of positive emotions for which mortal words would be insufficient to describe.

You seem to be perfectly okay with modifying your figures so I want to mention that you can remove the back half of his feet, so that he doesn't have the awkward heels sticking way back. You can't throw him at a desk and land him on his feet anymore but his balance is still pretty good, he doesn't really need the heels for most poses On a different note also related to feet, with the new simplified legs compared to Siege, I wish they would have used that extra budget and space to somehow fold his feet into his legs for alt mode. I'm sure it would have been possible, there's plenty of space there

I’m so glad to see that someone agrees about how this figure looks! For the first time in AGES, we finally have a G1 styled Prime that actually looks and fits the part! (The updated version they released recently actually has an even nicer paint job in my opinion, though he doesn’t come with a trailer. Speaking of recreating the final shot of the Bumblebee movie, do you have a recommendation for the best old Camaro version of Bumblebee? I'm disappointed that there isn't at least a 3rd party MP style version somewhere. The 2007 version with all the weathering detail would be cool, but a clean brand new version would be equally cool, ngl I'd like to get one of each. EDIT: Hey, you like legos, too. Cool.

I’ve been waiting to hear your thoughts on this one!! Got mine a few weeks ago, it’s the G1 Prime I’ve dreamt of having minus a few small qualms. The Roller of the Legends-size IDW Optimus works as a substitute, and I managed to find the parts to build him an adequate axe. My only remaining gripe is that his face isn’t painted around his eyes like Siege Prime, so his beautiful baby blues don’t pop nearly as much.

Not sure if this was mentioned but..... Those brakes are correct. It's hard to tell because of the cut out in the back rims but there is a second row of bolts. The inner circle of bolts is the center hub of the axle/wheel hub asm. The out set is how it's bolted to the rim. Though tbh you made this review a while ago and it just seems like overkill to take about a toy in this way but.... The inner engineering student in me just realized the second set of bolts and had to comment. Either way love your content it's my 4th time watching this review. Keep up with the good work and freaking out about brake set ups 💙

You realize that without the detail on the drums, you wouldn't get any effect with the rotating cutouts? Having the molded parts achieve the desired effect (eg. inner detail) was always going to be more important than verbatim of the original.

For someone who has a love for alt modes, I’m utterly shocked at the many issues that Earthrise Optimus Prime’s truck mode has that Lazy did not mention. For one, the door windows look like nonsense, there are no molded doors, the step ladder is almost nonexistent, and there are no side bars to hold onto in order to reach the door (in general, the sides of the truck look like techno-greebled nothing). There’s a gap in the back that the ion blaster storage does not help with, but luckily there’s an upgrade kit. Finally, while there is a trailer hitch, the robot legs do not look like the proper bed of the truck.

Given how impressed you are with ER, you really need to review the original Cybertron/Galaxy force Optimus Prime from 2005. He has: Functional wheel suspension, opening and closing hands, a removeable matrix, a moving mouthplate, and functionality with multiple other toys, combining with Cybertron Wingsaber and Leobreaker, and wielding Metroplex's axe.
