Honestly, I've always liked the original story the best: regular marine, sent to phobos, hears all his buddies getting fragged by demons inside the base while he is alone securing the perimeter. Soon it's apparent he is the only one left, but all he's got is a pistol. The only way out is through, and all best weapons are inside. Here we go... Its a more relatable story to an average person. You can believe you are the character you are playing inside that story. Everything else, though awesome, just seems like a drawn out money maker in comparison. It has become a fantasy series.

Well said, the story deviated too far from the original concept. Doom Guy became "Space Kratos", basically a demigod character who crushes giant demons with his own hands and kills planet-size deities. Not my cup of tea.

The slayer was imbued with davoth's energy using the divinity machine and as the slayer killed davoth his energy also died with him and the slayer was knocked out because his energy died with davoth's and the makers sealed him in a sarcophagus so that he can rest and once he is needed again they will set him free once more or something like that😅 (Also if you see some bad gramar that's because English isn't my first language)

Apparently, the id team wanted the first 2 games to be in the horror style of 3, but could only sort of give you the vibe bc of graphical limitations in 1993. 🤣 You can see it in the classic games I played as a kid in the flickering lights, demon breathing noises whenever they’re near in the background, and sudden ambushes, etc.

Am I the only one who thinks that there is an obvious change in writers between Doom 2016 and Eternal? There is just so many plot holes and things that just don't make sense between the two games. For example, Samuel Haydem would have NEVER commanded that we saccrafice VEGA in 2016 if he was the Saraphim and knew what VEGA "really was". The slayer also just backed up VEGA onto a thumb drive.... he backed up effectively God (or one of them) onto a thumb drive? Hayden didn't even tell him to do it or expect that he could. Then Hayden would never have lead the effort to get argent energy if he was who he was, let alone stolen the crucible and sent away doom guy at the end of the game. It just doesn't make sense. It's obvious that different writers took over.... in my opinion, to the detriment of the story as a whole.

People hated on the movie due to it not really touching on forces of hell or Reaper not resembling Slayer enough but my god it could have been an AMAZING setup for future sequels, starting with him disobeying Sarge when he is ordered to kill innocent civilians!! Minority be damned the first DOOM film was good imo. Could have went places if they had stuck with it.

It seems that the Demons and Doom got implicated and instigated against each other by another malicious entity to perpetuate the conflict, but they should have just been nice to Doom and he or she should have said hi and petted the demons or offered them a treat when going into the demons home, and they should have cooperated to resolve the problems, but they have assumed that they are enemies and made an arse out of themselves. Great game of course
