Yes, I'm reviewing Part 2, just be Patient. This video came out ~2 months after its Release - It'll take time, but I'd rather be a bit late with my Review than rush it. Also I've already been it on Ultra Nightmare. Sentinel Hammer is a little busted. Errors + Corrections: - The Intro Music was by Levy, not Hulshult Music is subjective and I know it's a topic lots of folks are passionate about. Please leave your kindly worded responses to my opinions on the soundtrack below, and I will try to engage in a polite debate with you about it Also please understand - I loved Levy + Hulshult's soundtrack, I just have critiques for how it does and doesn't sound like a Doom Soundtrack. Criticism doesn't mean I didn't like it.

Dude, I feel you on that one room in The Holt. There's something about it that throws me off every time. LOVE your video here. You really know your stuff, and I was entertained the whole way even though I've played this DLC endless times. It's an arcade shooter at the end of the day. The main purpose of the dive suit is to force the player into resource management. Risk vs. Reward A dive suit thematically makes sense, especially since the rad suit is also a pickup, as it was in the first game

As for why Samur knew, it's explained in the Codex. Samur was the Father's right hand. He has been documenting EVERYTHING since the beginning. Even the knowledge of demons had faded into obscurity for the later Maykrs, to the point that even the Khan Maykr didn't know what they were until Doomguy came along. But Samur knew it all. He was probably the last of the ancient Maykrs the Father first created. So there's that.

Andrew's blood swamp track is my favourite in all of modern Doom's. I think it really compliments the nature of the level. It's not just going through the motions of being the slayer, it's an actual trial by combat type thingy. A landmark of hardships. The song at it's heaviest heights emphasises this. At least that's what i take from it. Totally see what you're saying though in relation to the franchise as a whole. It *is* just a djent style song and not much more at the end of the day. Those fucking build ups though...

Overthinking with that theory at the end, Earth, Hevean & Hell exist as separate planes of reality, alternate dimensions linked together. The Dark Lord, is Hell's alternate of The Doom Slayer. While most likely The Father, is Hevean's Alternate of the Doom Slayer

My personal theory is that The Wretch and The Betrayer are one in the same, since The Betrayer's hammer gives me some blacksmith vibes. I do think Hayden fucked with Doomguy's armor after retrieving them both from the Kadinger Sanctum to allow the future installation of the Dimenstional Tether though, hence the UAC branding and the armor already being unsealed when Doomguy is released. The armor is dismantled in Doomguy's room in the Fortress now, because not only did he want to get Hayden's additions out of there, he wanted to revert it to his original Night Sentinel armor. The Intern is likely just a fanboy like the rest of us, and my guess is he was able to hack into ARC data he didn't have permission to view just because he wanted to know EVERYTHING about his hero, and suddenly with all his bosses having fled in fear of the Dark Lord's life sphere he could finally just speak freely about everything he knew. ... I just wrote a paragraph theorizing about the plot of a Doom game. Didn't see THAT coming in '93 let me tell ya.

I think the Wretch and the Betrayer are different people. When hearing tha Testaments, the Dark Lord talks about the Wretch with disdain and hatred, which is weird as Betrayer is the reason they got rid of the main obstacle against the demons. I had a theory that the Wretch was one of the Arch demons from Hell, as there are 7 princes of hell in IRL demonology but only 6 in Doom Eternal, and one of these demons is a inventor that turned humans lazy with his machines

Slight correction on the OST, the opening cutscene music is actually done by Levy, not Hulshult, I was actually able to get a reply from Levy on a youtube comment confirming this. And in case anyone was unaware, according to Levy, Hulshult also did the music for the Holt and the final boss!

Here is one thing I've always wondered, based off the codex, one version of Hell and one version of Earth exist in the modern games. Then how did the classic Doom games take place? How was Earth oblivious to demons before DooM 2016's events, yet in the classic games Earth was nearly destroyed by demons? I personally think that not even the Father knows where Doomguy came from, he appeared from some parallel universe in a random chance event, either that or classic Doom's hell/heaven was all "hey can we get rid of this guy? Just send him to some other universe so we don't have to deal with him." I like the idea of this, because parallel universes could allow for more games after the Dark Lord is defeated

Pretty great review and video. I love it very much. Though I never used the lock on mod agaisnt the Whiplashes. Always used detonation, stick grenade, shield, heat wave, and destroyer mods with the super shotty. Along with a blood punch. So to me, the only thing is finding the damnbastard. As for the Unmakyr, I never used since the BFG is still amazing. But I watched Mayo's video and thinking that I'll give it a shot in the DLC again.

wait, PERFECT IDEA for a phase of the Dark Lord fight: he mirrors all your movements on a mirrored map and attacks you when you attack with your attacks, and the only way you can kill him/go to the next phase is by healing with asymmetrical health and armor packs, and using asymmetrical power ups, while also making sure he doesnt touch them as well

I really tried to not complain about the Marauder, but when you got to the buffed Marauder and complained about his AI being broken, that's when I noticed that his behaviour is basically consistent with what he does normally on my playthroughs, it's not that I can't deal with him eventually, it's just that he behaves inconsistently if I don't cheese through with the ballista-ssg combo and stun lock him, and that inconsistency is exactly the problem, if it weren't for that, I'd have no complaints

This can occasionally be seen if you get into an extended fight with him, where he'll act like the buffed Marauder in the sense that he'll run toward you but won't always do his major attack and just stare at you like the buffed Marauder does. So, I think the buff totem sort of cranks that randomization in his AI and cranks it up a notch. If anyone wants to get through this part on UN or is having trouble with this part in general, what I like to do is shoot charged arbalest shots or sticky bombs at his feet.

Fun fact, for the cubes trial parts, I found the ballista with the arbalest mod being really useful against the cubes. They close immediately after getting hit by a charged arbalest shot
