Saints Row 2 will FOREVER be my favourite, then again, I no longer enjoy the franchise because of the drastic changes made in Future Games, I would hardly call them Saints Row games, I guess they wanted to alter the established formula of Saints Row 1 & 2, so as to differentiate Saints Row from Grand Theft Auto, since Saints Row was compared to GTA a lot.

Saints row the third is my favourite in the series. So many hilarious and epic soundtrack moments. I played with the female voice #1 (Laura Bailey) and the dialogues and delivery were just epic. It's a shame it was so short.

I'm my opinion the best Saints Row game is SR2 followed by SRIV. It mostly came down to customization, world, story, and fun. That and I really love the Ronin. Just kind of wish they placed SRIV in a more interesting city because Steelport is boring.

Frag Grrl I've heard people argue that in SR4 it didn't matter that it was set in a boring city because SR4 is a really fast paced game so you hardly get to look at the environment around you.

More like you have a super run that makes the whole city a burr and the campaign was short and easy. It's a sandbox game. A sandbox game where part of it was collecting stuff and destroying. It's the same city in SR3 and you think they would make improvements like how they did between SR1 and SR2, but no. It's all subjective, but idk... The driving and car customization was improved, but suffered because of both the city and the powers made car travel useless. A lot of interesting structures were removed for these jumping towers But here the thing. I like how Volition did Seoul and New Hades. However the reason they need to remember why people like SR2's city Stilwater is that each part of the city was different, there where buildings you could go in, easter eggs you could discover, people doing tons of different things, and it was interactive. It was something worth putting the story aside to explore.

I love all 4 games, but 2 is my personal favorite. It had a great balance of wackiness and seriousness. It had the liveliest, most unique open world. It had the deepest customization. An amazing soundtrack with a lot of variety. The best enemy gangs. Also, 3 and 4 don't have proper day-night cycles. And it had the overall best story. I really hope we get to fight rival gangs again in SR5 like we did in the first 3 games. That being said, I wouldn't mind seeing the flying dragon vehicle finally happen lol

I think what really makes SR great is the characters; those moments you share with them that make you actually feel like part of the world. I loved in SR2, the anguish when I had to put Carlos out of his misery; in SR3, that sing along with Pierce just felt human; in SR4 when Kinzie pulled me off Matt to really somber me up after I went berserk.

Elder Rusty Because Rockstar made a better Saints Row in GTA IV and V. It became clear when Saints Row 2 came out that people were comparing the two series and opting for GTA over Saints Row. Plus since everyone was ripping off GTA anyway like Mafia and Sleeping Dogs, they had to do something to separate from the pack. So, they went weird. And weird was good.

I'm with you, buddy. SR4 was pretty good, making better use of an... already existing map with some extra props... but SR2 had everything. It had the humor, the investment in the characters, the feels, the build-up... It was over the top in perspective to GTA, which was a welcome breath of fresh air in a series that took itself very serious (eventually). Sadly they decided that SR3 and 4 had to be over the top in perspective to itself, which is more of a cyclical issue.

1&2 was my absolute favorites i hope they release them for the switch. The way they fixed the gravity gun is they stick you in a similar and any time the game needs a break it does a roll on the background

I haven't played the third, I was going to download it on the Xbox (when it was free for some time) but my brother said I couldn't because no more room, on my hard drive, which had 300GB. Dick head

Everything an open world game needs, we have enough gta and other "realistic" games. Basically skydiving while shooting is my level of perfect

The only disappointing thing about the game (SR4) is no replayable main missions and some side missions that are 1-time deal as well. I saw the mission completed tab and I thought oh great they'll allow me to play them later on after I finish the game and.... No I couldn't replay any of them... Like ffs devs why does the missions completed tab exists? What does it add to anything if I'm not allowed to replay them?

I'm being honest here and what if i like SR4 better? that won't make you stop enjoying the first two, i've played every single game in the series and at first i thought it was basically GTA with a better story then it was the same thing with 2 and then 3 happened and that's first scene in which you have to rob a bank by stealing the whole safe was hilarius, fun and exciting, every single part of the game was exagerated and over the top and that's why i loved it, it was fun as hell and in the end that's what i want in my games, i want them to be fun, i know the story wasn't as serious as the first 2 but to me that was a breath of fresh air because it stopped being that GTA game with a better story and became it's own thing, and when SR4 came oh boy that was awesome, the superpowers where the cherry on top i found the superpowers so fun to use, that it actually made me want to upgrade them not because of need like in most games but because i wanted to see how much they developed and the minigames that required them where so fun i never got tired of them, not to mention the humor is top notch. The game is awesome in so many levels but i know not everyone is into changes and i guess that's the reason most people hate 3 and 4, i'm not trying to change anyone's mind with my comment but at least i accept the fact that people have different opinions on different matters and don't go around telling people to kill themselves just because i don't like their opinions... and i'm 25 btw.

Or just those who like 3 and 4 are not as vocal about it? It seems to be a popular thing to hate on 3 and 4 for the 1 & 2 fans shouting they like 1 & 2 better from the top of their lungs. Im one of the few that actually liked 2, 3 and 4 too. (There is no SR1 for the PC so i can't comment about that)

Juan Daniel Cervantes no it doesn’t make it harder for me because I love saints row 3 I like them all but I do love to the most because I have played them all and saying on a scale it actually is more original than the third because the third is just a wacky version of the first two but the second one deviated enough from the first game, and yes the mechanics are very similar San Andreas like I said they were in the same genre that’s like saying western RPG’s have the same mechanic yeah of course they do that doesn’t make one less original and honestly there is humor in the second game it was just more clever (by comparison) instead of dildo lol add the third game the story is forgettable I don’t remember the name of the gangs but like I said I like the third game the fourth game is OK but ultimately I think it disrespect saints row’s legacy because all it is is ha ha ha ha funny joke ha ha Ha mediocre gameplay and terrible story

Akuraj johnson it was developed for original Xbox and had to move to a next gen console. That was what he meant. The devs didnt want that to happen to IV too because Saints Row 1 in its original state had to be scratched because of a new Xbox and to be remade.

I loved all of the titles equally, so I guess I'm just weird. I never got the division among fans in that area. I didn't even notice the GTA V release, because SR IV came out at the same time.

I think anybody who is a fan of the franchise from the very beginning likes 1 and 2 more. I preferred the goofy yet serious story it was very well balanced. The gameplay was and still is amazing. Now the franchise is a joke. I seriously hope the next one either goes back to its roots of gangbanging or reboots the franchise entirely. Otherwise. I'm out.
