I’m a high school tennis coach for 17 years and I can’t get girls to jog two laps around the track. We’re a soft society now. America is not the America I grew up in. “Sticks and stones can break my bones but words can never hurt me.” That was the saying. We shook it off. Now people try to get people fired and cancelled because their feelings were hurt after someone said something. Grow up people. Get up, eat right, stop smoking and doing drugs, clean the house, take care of you’re kids, expect them to behave and get a job and pay taxes.

Fun watching these videos. As a member of the class of 1966 I remember it all very well.

What kind of drills were there? What did you do to increase repetitions? Just aim for quality? Efficiency?
@UncleBW4 жыл бұрын
@@djsnobodycares6065 It's kinda hard to describe. The system was layered by trunk colors. Everyone started as one color and then moved up as they tested, which happened numerous times a year. So, to your question, repetitions increased as you moved up in layers/trunk colors. In order to move up, you had to pass harder and harder tests.Trunk color became a thing of pride and an obvious challenge. It's the challenge presented of moving up that motivated all of us. And, you found out you were capable of doing things you didn't know you could do because progress was gradual but obviously some progressed quicker than others.

Thanks for your support of "real" PE! -RJ *I removed the options for comments on my PE 101 videos for children because irresponsible people were posting sexual content inappropriate for children and their parents. Those videos are specifically targeted for younger children, so I have ZERO tolerance for behaviors that are harmful to them.

I live in Klamath Falls Oregon & the parks & schools REMOVE pull up bars & parallel bars . They say the reason is because too many kids were getting hurt . Very sad state our youth are in physically and mentally .
@swalterstennis3 жыл бұрын
I agree with you. I’m 59. I flipped off the bars and almost got hurt and I fell other times. It’s a risk. You live, you do things and sometimes accidents happen. I tore a ligament and almost ruined my arm after skipping a rock after little league baseball season as an 11-year old and I’m a tennis pro now. I don’t regret one thing. Accidents happen. It’s better than playing 6 hours of video games each day. We rode bikes without helmets cause they didn’t exist. I flipped m bike and got a concussion. I wear a helmet now. But, I don’t regret how active we were in the old days. It was FUN! And healthy, for the most part.
