Calling Nissan a parent company doesn't really make sense. Datsun was Nissan Motor Company, trading under the Datsun Brand.

fun fact. after 1994, the IMSA 300zx's twin turbo V6 was banned from competition, forcing Nissan to use a V8 for '95. it destroyed the competition, even coming 5th overall at Lemans that year

The G35 was not the rebranded Skyline, it was the sister car to 350z. The Skyline name was dropped and is rebranded as simply the Infinity GTR. Eventually it was given back to the Nissan brand
