Thanks for making a video comparing Suzo Happ and IL buttons! Is that a custom Metal Slug marquee card? Did you get it somewhere or did you draw that yourself?
@THELEGENDARYK2 Жыл бұрын
Thanka Hansuke you're very welcome! The mini narquee is hand drawn by my cousin. She's an artist that does a lot of custom work on firearms. It's definitely one of my favorites.

@@THELEGENDARYK2 She doesn't happen to have a shop or website somewhere where she sells or showcases her art does she? Would love to get myself a custom marquee like that!

Do you know if the Pivots in Suzo-happ and IL joysticks are supposed to be greased like a sanwa?
@Revenants_Prophecy3 жыл бұрын
I had the same problem with happ. Ordered the IL’s instead. Haven’t tried them yet but your video gives me hope they work better.

I ended up getting the IL's joystick, they are awesome, using them with my Arcade1up street fighter cabinet, I had do little bit of cutting in order to get them to fit in the small arcade1up cabinet, I was able to do it with no issues, joystick is very good, no noisy clicks you hear from other joysticks, feels good when I play and much better to get accurate moves now with these joysticks, perfect joystick specially for fighting games..

@@JunkeeDrugee I wanted Happ/IL controls for mine as well but I really like the click of all the switches. . . I use a Sanwa Stick with a 4lb spring Extended Shaft with a Skinny Battop(Definitely Happ Inspired), Happ Competition buttons on a Marvel Vs. Capcom A1up.

Nice cabinet for sure. I use Feather blades too :) I just out sanwa buttons in my cabinet and they look just like the IL and perform well but cant compare since I havent used those. Getting ready to put in yhe IL euro stick and cant wait bc they feel awesome.

I agree with you. Fantastic video 👏. Love the detail description. Most of my arcade sticks i am using convex style. Thanks

What up K-2. Nice to see a vid from you. Lovin the Goldie. The new buttons look slick. I have a big red, kept the original buttons but swapt out the switches. I do prefer the candy style buttons tho. Also, my panel was getting some rust as well. I finally refurbished it not too long ago. Look forward to more content. Stay up and Happy New Year!
@THELEGENDARYK23 жыл бұрын
Sanding down that control panel is definitely on the to do list. Found a nice cpo to replace my tattered one so the Goldie will be getting a good bit of attention in the coming weeks. Happy New Year Fight Fan!

IL sticks and buttons are amazing for american style parts!!
@darrkstarg10 ай бұрын
Convex buttons are way better. They press much easier. When you press a button at the edge of a concave button, it misses sometimes. This does not happen with a convex button.

Looking good man! Nice to see the Goldie again. My Big Red is currently in storage. Moving that thing is a huge hassle but I am itching to play it again soon because of this video!

Yes! Thanks Marty! Im so rusty with this stuff, new years resolution is to take stock of what's in the horde and get it back to fighting trim. My big red is coming home soon, so Goldie will have a buddy

The Cherries have been black for a while, yeah. You can get them at paradisearcadeshop or Focus Attack. FA also has replacement actuators and springs for American joysticks (Yes, the IL parts can be used in the Happ joystick). That 2P stick might have a microswitch crapping out... As to concave V convex, it's all dependant on the game, I feel. Playing a shooter with concave buttons always feels better for me since your finger kinda just slides into place while you're holding the fire button, while for fighters, where you need to move to new buttons faster, you need the convex buttons for hardcore play. Not sure I'd agree that the Happ stuff is "shitty," honestly. With Cherry switches, they're perfectly fine, and you can get them with Cherry switches from Tornado Terry. The impact of the nylon on actual play is debatable, but it doesn't seem as... Grindy as the hard plastic. Honestly, the real issue is the springs. IL uses heavier springs, and that makes a huge difference as well. While I prefer the IL stick for that spring, the buttons I can honestly go either way on. Long as they're not using those 125 gram zippyy switches I got from this one shitty local place, you're gonna be fine.
@THELEGENDARYK23 жыл бұрын
Good info here Jesus! I guess it's also unfair to compare a brand new IL and 6 year old Happ. Luckily they are relatively inexpensive. Now you got me thinking of comparing new cherries to these Zippy switches I got with the buttons. If I can find them I think I have a bag of old Cherry switches that came on these machines when I first got them. I mainly stuck with lower poundage Zippy because the tendons in my pinky fingers would be sore after playing KoF.
@jesuszamora69493 жыл бұрын
@@THELEGENDARYK2 Oh I feel you there. the 20g zippy, much like the E-Switch, is a great little one for easy pressing. I imagine they really help alleviate the pressure after some Aero Fighters/Sonic Wings.

I remember my old early 2000s HAPP from Tornado Terry's and my IL buttons being different...the IL had less travel to touch the switch button due to what seemed to be thicker pads that touched the button. The color on the HAPP was different and I actually preferred the yellow HAPP's more gold color to the bright florescent yellow on the IL so I switched to orange IL buttons.
@alejandroaguilar90382 жыл бұрын
The Happ buttons stick up more, and you are missing because the switches are old dude.
@big_boy_chris2 жыл бұрын
Interesting. I would have thought the issue is more within the Suzo HAPP Joystick and less so for the buttons.

Good vid, thanks for the comparison. I need to swap out the original joysticks and buttons in my 2-slot MVS cab eventually and I like the look of those convex buttons.
@THELEGENDARYK23 жыл бұрын
May be more to do with the lighter switches then the Convex plungers, but I find these much less fatiguing to play. New joystick is a huge difference. I definitely recommend the IL over the Happ

Try replacing the buttons with either Sanwa buttons or the PowerA Fusion arcade stick controller's domed buttons.
