The best part about Mesopotamian mythology? We have many thousands of clay tablets that have yet to be translated. So much more to learn.

The historybooks that our grandchildren will have access to will dwarf our understanding of how history ties together the world. The gods were the descendants of those who survived the plagues and wars that happened due to the first implementation of trans-oceanic seafaring. Plagues and diseases is what truly defeated native americans, and is also what defeated all the unhealthy hybrids that resulted after boats reached the whole world for the first time. Humanity evolved into water-apes due to our common habitat; Riverdeltas, swamps and wetlands,- which developed into boat-apes.

So basically Nanna is a patron of the women, but in the sense of a paternal figure! I would suppose that in the fourth millennia B.C.E. a lunar male deity was meant to embody the protective aspect of the common household father.

The Mesopotamian flood story is like an even more epic version of the Hebrew flood story. Both are just interesting.
@fredriks5090
@fredriks5090 2 жыл бұрын
Because it's a primary source, while the hebrew flood story is that of a small local tribe situated in between the major powers of the region, by which they were also enslaved or displaced. Writing systems were first used by coastal/river-cultures because they were the healthiest and most technically advanced.

Because many are incapable of taking serious precautions based on prior knowledge, - the capable are providing them with comfort so that they themselves can take the proper precautions. *BUT*, I think a lot of idiots would be comfortable with their position if they knew how hard they would need to work and think in order to achieve similar precautions. Sin/Nanna was the god Abraham originally worshipped. Abraham travelled from Ur to Harran, which were both the main cult centres of Sin worship. Due to the state god system of ancient Mesopotamia he had to do something with the god. This is strenghtened by the names of people in his family : "Sarai (Sarah) is the equivalent of sarratu, "queen," an Akkadian translation of a Sumerian name for Ningal, the female partner of the moon-god Sin. Milcah is the same as the name of the goddess Malkatu, the daughter of Sin. Laban means "white," or "white one," a poetic name for the full moon. (Hamilton, Genesis 1:363.)" Perhaps Abraham's expedition began simply to build a temple to Sín in the holy land. An expedition which was financed by the Sín cult to start a colony in Canaan. Which would explain why there were soldiers and so many people with him. And when he reached Canaan he either switched to El, or "founded" El. Sín was not just a moon god : "Sîn seems to have held the position of the head of the pantheon. It was during this period that he inherited such titles as "Father of the Gods," "Chief of the Gods," and "Creator of All Things". The cult of Sîn spread to other centers, and temples of the moon god have been found in all the large cities of Babylonia and Assyria. Sîn's chief sanctuary at Ur was named E-gish-shir-gal ("house of the great light"). Sîn's sanctuary at Harran was named E-khul-khul ("house of joys")." Some of the group did not switch to El and were banished. They ended up in the desert and became the Ishmaelites. Which would become part of the Arabs and later Muslims. That is why Islam to this day has an affection with the moon. Pre-Islamic Allah was a moon God very much akin to Sín. Pre-Islamic Allah was even called Sín in southern Arabia. And we know from hadith there was also a "competing" Kaaba in southern Arabia. And from Nabatean ruins (like Petra) we know Allah was depicted as a cube. Ramadan is based on moon phases. And Muhammad's only miracle had to do with the moon. Muhammad claimed descendency from Ishmael, and the rules depending food and circumcision might've been edicted before the split of the group of Abraham into Isaacism (the El side, the new god) and Ishmaelism (the Sín side, the original god). That is why Islam also has these elements. Muhammad is an Ishmaelite, but his surroundings mostly not is shown in many hadith, 1 for example : "Al-Bukhārī reports that ʿUmar - Allāh be pleased with him - came to the Black Stone (performing ṭawāf, circumambulation), kissed it, and said, “I know that you are a stone, you do not cause benefit or harm; and if it were not that I had seen Allāh’s Messenger - peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him - kiss you, I would never have kissed you.”" Why is the black stone so holy for the Ishmaelites? Because it is a meteorite. It came from space, and was therefore send by the moon god for some reason, so the Ishmaelite Arabs worshipped it. The non Ishmaelites not so much. Muhammad simply turned Ishmaelism into Islam, which was open for everybody to join. Like Paul did with Christianity and gentiles. But Islam is not Ishmaelism. It is a change, mix, and addition of many other things. Uthman simply burned Ishmaelite texts, which he though were corrupted Quranic texts when he put together the Quran. So there is very little left. But it would explain why some of the oldest Qurans are older than Islam and full of edited or written over texts. The debate about wether Isaac or Ishmael was almost sacrificed simply is an Isaacite tradition (from which stems our Bible and Judaism) of Abraham getting out of doubt of which god to pick : El or Sín. And the Ishmaelites tell the same story in their favour, but they get screwed over by the Isaacites. This is why Muhammad claimed the Torah was corrupted. Keep in mind that neither El nor Sín worship was monotheistic, but rather henotheistic. Anyway, Sín might've been the starting point of every Abrahamistic religion.

@@gaventer2022 There is much much more that indicate moon worship. I can write a book about it. But a simple example is for example this Talmudic story : "Upon seeing the moon and stars Abraham said, 'This one must have created heaven and earth and me - these stars must be the moon's princes and courtiers.' So all night long he stood in prayer to the moon. In the morning, the moon sank in the west and the sun rose in the east. Then Abraham said, 'There is no might in either of these. There must be a higher Lord over them - to God will I pray, and before God will I prostrate myself' (Bet HaMidrash, ed. A. Jellinek, 2:118-196" And even in the Bible : "Much later, King Hoshea of Israel was defeated and the people taken captive. Second Kings 17:16 says the defeat happened because the people “bowed down to all the starry hosts.” In 2 Kings 23:4-5 King Josiah of Judah led a revival of Yahweh worship and deposed the false priests who burned incense to the sun, moon, and stars."

If we wanted to peel back the magical nature of ancient or modern religions, the acts of the religions followers are also recorded as acts of divine intervention. So if a high priest of Enki helps Gilgamesh, Gilgamesh doesn’t praise the priest he praises Enki.

They draw a false connection between words that have nothing to do with each other such as Almaqah and Mecca (one uses a kaf and one a qaf in the Arabic language with no evidence that such a shift occurred in antiquity). I think Enlil is Jehovah. Enlil don't give a shit about humans but he wants them to do as he says like slaves and he's jealous of their love and worship of Enki.......and that's a direct parallel of Jehovah raining hellfire on humans, sending plagues, a flood, etc all the while flat out telling his Israelites "I am a jealous god and you'll have no other God but me", his"promised lands" always included his Israelites walking into someone else's civilizations and destroying the people and usurping their lands. Enlil is a total dick to humans and they only worshipped him when he had to force em to EXACTLY like Jehovah in the Bible; as long as he was leading they vagabond homeless Israelites to victories and fertile lands he stole they was cool, but as soon as Jehovah step away once they're settled in they converted right back to worshipping Báal/The Lord/Enki, and Jehovah would have to whup that ass. It happened several times lol. Matter of fact, before he self proclaimed himself the Jehovah, he went by El and even that is what Enlil was called. Ninurta may be the Judaic equivalent of archangel Michael, but Enlil is Jehovah

@@ThatStevenLouis it’s important to note that Yahweh and Jehovah are two different entities. I think they both could be Ninurta and Enlil. The Evil wind was carried out by Enlil but delivered by two Angels. ;) and three men visited Abraham. What’s kinda cool in the Sumerian version Ninurta pleads with Marduks Brother about sparring the innocent just like Abraham did. But you also could be very very correct. For me I enjoy the story of Nabu. Who was brutally murdered in a similar fashion to Christ. Only a little more gore. But Nabu seemed to adore Humans just like his Father.

@@boblyle3930 man Nabu's story was epic. If they would've been teaching us that in Sunday school I'd probably still be in church 😂😂 I say Yahweh and Jehovah are the same: linguistically speaking the 'u', 'w', 'v', and 'b' over time and regions has been used interchangeably; Germans today pronounce 'w' words like 'weather' with a 'v'. We also know in those parts of the world there was no 'j' in those times. 'Jehovah' is the modern English enunciation of 'Yahweh'. That being said, I don't even believe the tetragrammaton was even a title; I think it's just El's introduction. Keep in mind, this dude's Billy Badass; all the gods are known as an el or elohim collectively but he's taken it upon himself to have his followers call him El as in "The God", when his actual title at that time was El Sabaoth "the god in charge of the hosts/military" aka a warlord/commander. I can't recall which one of his future founding fathers it was (Abraham, Jacob, Moses, etc) but when they asked him "Who are you?", he replied "I am that is (YHWH)". When you're the God of Narcissism (that's what I've been calling Jehovah the past 15 years lol) "I am that is" also means "I am that was" and "I am that will be"...past, present, future. Jehovah and Yahweh are the same thing separated only by time and language.

If you’re a Christian… These are fallen angels and their children before flood. Noah’s son Ham hated god and was wicked. His descendants worshipped the ancient deities for centuries. Nimrod being the main descendent that brought idol worship back. Gilgamesh might actually be nimrod. Illuminator = sin = wisdom and knowledge = Lucifer. The new Mystic religion believes Lucifer is good. 😏 Jupiter = Zeus = ancient snake Asclepius = Satan Jesus even said Zeus is Satan in (Revelation 2:12-13). Jesus called the throne of Zeus the “throne of Satan” There were Antichrist in the world before Jesus but the most wicked Antichrist is around the corner, in the last days.

Enlil and Enki mythically are the Gods of Earth. And whatever God you praise shows homage to the real gods. In the Bible they pray to Amun - Ra but under a different name different image and symbology. Where do you think Amen comes from at the end of the prayer? Moses makes the Ten Commandments for the Israelites at MT. SINai (the mountain closest to the moon). Sin=Nanna=Moon God. God said don’t burn incense to the stars and they literally did it the night jesus was born. God punished the fallen angels for making Enoch and nephilim and considered it blasphemous. But in the Bible he literally creates jesus through procreation like the fallen angels once did to create Enoch even though he locked them away for years in hell for it. None of us are made without feminine energy (goddess energy) and masculine (god energy) so it can’t be one God and he be male and that’s it. Nowhere in nature is it possible for the female or the male to create life without eachother. If we are made I’m his image then he would have to be made from man and woman as well.

That’s literally Amun Ra my g. 😂😂 Amen came after Amun look up the etymology and origin 🙏🏾 and they varied on who was “most high” because God is a team composed of different elemental forces I.E. Enki- Earth through masculine and feminine energies that can create or destroy life and whichever God(guide) related to their issues they gave offerings and worship in return for guidance. They had different spiritual history and issues which shows why they chose different Gods (guides) to serve as most high. The ppl you named Gods were actually family related and Enki is Marduks father. No Marduk to worship if it’s no Enki 😂😂
