There is a lovely drive you missed directly north from St. Albans. Dirt road but ... beautiful. You would have seen some beautiful scenery and come out at Cessnock. Oh and you can camp for free at that park opposite St. Albans pub.

You pronounce it "hawks-berry", not "hawk-ess- boory". You really found yourself off the beaten track this time! I haven't been to Wiseman's Ferry since I was a teenager many years ago. I remember the countryside was very typical NSW country and very pretty.
