It's scary the first few times, but around the fifth or sixth time you just make a new friend "Hey FlamingDog, get your pills mixed up again?" "Yeah, Jim. Could you watch out for those begonias? I just planted those." "Oh, sure, sorry." "'Kay, go ahead." *Stares and smiles aggressively*

Dream logic is so interesting to me I feel like it could be a totally untapped field of phycology. Imagine in 30 years medical technology progresses to the point where you can watch someone’s dream like a TV show and you can study it. Even seeing a screenshot from a real human dream would be so fascinating to me. Maybe some day

A great part of Psychoanalisys focuses on dream logic and trying to figure out the meaning of it, although I doubt psychoanalits actually use the term 'dream logic'

One of my most worst dreams ever was quite horrific. Me and a family I dont know are sitting in what i think is a kitchen, even though the room is huge. It was wider and longer than it has any logical reason being. Like a school gym. I think it started with me recording what i think is meant to be my sister do some meme video thing, i pan my vision to the right, and in the far right corner, which is totally unlit, i see limbs sticking out of the shadow. Like a very very tall, emasiated person was clumsily pushing itself in there as if to hide. I look back before i realise what it was, however my sister is staring at the thing in the corner. She got up and everyone joined her, staring in the corner. I looked over to see the thing now clammering out of the corner and towards us. We took off running in the opposite direction screaming, and the last thing i remember is the thing running at me faster than i could react to, before waking up.

My dreams are broken - they are hyper realistic and have a logical progression and nightmares aren't scary they just stop me from doing illegal things.
@annoyingassbean3070

My dreams sometimes have logical progression, meaning that my brain is using what has happened in the previously in the dream to influence the future. Sometimes the dream makes a really, really good concept or story that I want to replicate it in real life but I often can't write it down fast enough and I lack the skills to properly describe what happened and what I felt.

@@artisticinexpression You could try practicing reality checks like pushing one of your fingers through the palm of your other hand, or counting fingers, turn on a light switch, try to read something etc... whenever you're not sure if you're dreaming. This should give you more control in dreams.

Another good one for my writing playlist! You always seem to hit the nail on the head, especially with those last few lines... there's nothing quite as frustrating as a horror creator feeling the need to spell everything out for the reader/viewer. A lot of otherwise good horror novels in particular have that problem. A similar issue is continuing the story past its ending, which often includes over-explanation. One novella I read recently followed up a slow-burn supernatural horror with not one, not two, but THREE new POVs in the remaining few pages after the death of the true main character, each detailing the spread of the parasite that was only mentioned once in the last few pages of the actual story, each convoluted and unnecessarily detailed. One would have done perfectly, or a brief mention of the child carrying the parasite moving outside its normal range of influence, or even a line or two to let us know that the things were spreading... Or it not being present at all, as it was never even the center of the horror. Anyway, I very much agree with the over-explanation thing, and have seen it kill good stories too many times... an essential ingredient in horror is mystery, something that can emphasized or subtle, but without mystery and the unknown, there isn't truly fear... And not much reason to consume fiction in general.

I have four types of dreams. 1. Stupid meme dreams that are completely random and make no sense. 2. Lucid dreams where I have full control and know that I am dreaming. 3. Dreams where I don’t have control but are “normal.” 4. Nightmares that always end with me killing whatever is trying to hurt/kill me.

My worst dream so far was a fever dream. It was a weird nightmare about a white face. I don't remember much about the environment though, I think it was a red hallway? Then the dream right after that was a nightmare where I was listening to music on youtube, but then partway through a song some disembodied loud church bells started ringing and the web browser suddenly became fleshy.

I don't know if this is a common thing, but most of my nightmares tend to be continuations from dreams I had on another night. Always a few seconds after, but I only ever make the connection once I wake up. Times where I've been something inhuman, aiding people in these dreams, only for the situation to go to hell the next night. Perhaps I am just another person who is killed? Perhaps I simply observe until it ends? It only ever makes sense in those waking moments. Then, like the dream, it's gone. I don't know if this is something common at all, so thanks for reading.

Recurring dreams I had for years. My old basement but there is a new door that certainly wasn't there in reality. Through the door there is a gradual narrative that some Nazi occult shit created this door (Because somebody thought it was a good idea I guess). Which leads to some kind of labyrinth in another dimension. From there it gets foggy. I know there are like artifacts of great value inside but any fool that would touch them would rouse the guardian of this place. Especially around one corner. You know you are there because a blue light radiates from a source you can't see. Around that corner is something like great riches. I can't remember what. A stack of gold bars maybe? But the guardian is behind that corner to and when you see that 'thing' you forget about the l00t... The humanoid entity stands around two meters tall. Marshmallowy white skin. It is so thin it is practically skeletal. It wears no clothing but has no visible sign of gender. Two long arms end in equally long, talon like fingers. The face... The face... I still shake. The face would vaguely resemble the 'momo' meme. It has two, oversized blue eyes with pin prick pupils. It's mouth is a grotesque 'gash' like a distorted happy face expression. There is just blackness inside. It has two, small appleseed slits for a nose and long, stringy, sparse black hair clings to its scalp. It will stalk you peering around corners and you'll see one of those blue eyes staring you down. If you were lured in by the promise of the riches this is your god now.
