Îm having a difficult time îve lost a lot of clients due to Covid and some moving away back to school and new jobs elsewhere, lost many elderly as well. I love your teaching me so many things I can use daily since I haven’t had the opportunity to work with many competent hairstylists so I truly appreciate every video you put out on colouring, saving time in the salon and cuts. I really wish I could afford your Patreon and I would encourage you if I could as your help has been invaluable to this older stylist. I will register when I can.

One trick do to get a softer growout is I do back to back weaves, 4 consecutive ones on each side of the forehead like u, and 2 on each side. The first one right on the hairline I paint a 2 inch W at the top of the foil and saturate underneath that. The next foil I will paint all the way to the root. This creates a nice diffused blur at the root so I don’t have to depend on the root shadow so much.

Love love love your videos James. You are such an awesome teacher. I will definitely try this the next chance i get. I just spent 5 HOURS highlighting and balyaging a head of hair yesterday. I was not happy with the way it turned out... level 5 hair virgin hair , with old growth bleach/ level 10 about 5 inches from root to ends of hair. I used 30 vol and blue bleach powder. I alway s end up spending so much time doing whole heads of hair , as whichever section i start with will process before the final section has finished foiling. I had to tone, and am still super cautious using toners, so it was too brassy. Will have to re tone. Ugh. Practice practise practise. Thanks for your calm and reasoned approach to this craft.

@TheLifeOfHair4 жыл бұрын
Fantastic Lulu glad you have been enjoying the videos I would say with ALLBASE breaking techniques that the best thing to do is watch them don’t leave them there only gonna take between 3 to 5 minutes maybe 10 in some cases to get the desired result Hope that helps all the best James
@pareenmerchant4 жыл бұрын
How would you do this technique for someone who has side swept bangs.
@TheLifeOfHair4 жыл бұрын
You would just simply move your section into a side parting work from the parting that the hair is going to be warn in this is the best way to go about this particular technique What I would say though is this week does need to be fairly long you need the hair to be at least past the tip of the nose for this technique to work well
@MR-nh9ko4 жыл бұрын
I like all your tutorials did you used toner or a shadow root formula to blend?
@TheLifeOfHair4 жыл бұрын
No toner or a shadow on this one 👍🏻
@cherylinnes80383 жыл бұрын
Hi James,do you not have to cover with plastic wrap with blue bleach ?
@TheLifeOfHair3 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily Cheryl providing you get the mixing ratio right if you have a mixing ratio of 30 g of powder to 45 g of oxidant that will give you a nice consistency that you do not need to cover
@pareenmerchant4 жыл бұрын
What did you do with the hair behind the front money piece? not very clear if it was included or not please advice.
@TheLifeOfHair4 жыл бұрын
Hi parents. The hair behind the money piece has just left dark to create contrast and separation between the money peace and high up Balyage pieces as you get towards the end of the tutorial we be able to see that I simply just paint into the parting the Balyage and everything that is in the foil is left just wear it as if you paint too close Close to the money piece 😁

Wooow and thats without the toning ??? i would love to do it on myself !
@TheLifeOfHair4 жыл бұрын
Yeah no toner, Obviously you could apply a toner if you wanted to you are you got a woman lift than I did. The trick to it is saturation getting enough product onto the hair to make sure that it lifts evenly and consistently
@MrzBadaBing4 жыл бұрын
The Life Of Hair I thought it was important to tone to balance the ph or seal the hair and that it’s not good to just leave it raw ..as people say it lol again so confused
@blassaucedo53034 жыл бұрын
Are you able to re apply on this type of technique? Love the video
@TheLifeOfHair4 жыл бұрын
Absolutely very very repeatable technique when the client comes back in in a few weeks time because of the simple nature of the technique it is unlikely that you’re going to take the same sections over and over again around the money piece it’s just like topping up a set of highlights you just repaint the root area
@americansonic3764 жыл бұрын
would you suggest doing the base color before this or after?
@TheLifeOfHair4 жыл бұрын
I would say if you’re going to do a base colour then I would probably definitely do it this so obviously if you do a base colour afterwards you will lose some of the Balyage technique
