What sub do you recommend in an 18" driver. I will still keep with running AC power amplifiers on these like crown i-tech 12000 so it will move em pretty good!!! +Charles Oxendine not as bad as HIGHS do, sub frequencies damage the hearing in those frequency ranges, but that is mostly below normal speech frequency, so you won't really notice it like you would if you damaged your ability to hear higher frequency, hell most people naturally lose the ability to hear this frequency range just from old age. (16 years of always having a sub every day, most capable of 140db or more and still better hearing then my brother who turns the TV up to 50 that I used to listen to at 20-25, overly loud tweeters will do far more damage then subs ever will.

I had two djl pops 12's. 3.4 cubes @34 Hz. d2 coils wired to 2 ohms with 8guage kicker power wire (to the subs) on an mrp1000 alpine. 53in^2 port area. surrounds deteriorated(Gorilla tape baby!), one of them ripped out of the box. (had to use a bolt, fender washer and nut to hold it down.) I never had this metered but in my 91 Civic I was hitting somewhere in the low 140's at least. I think the vehicle played a big part in how loud it was in addition to my placement the box (bolted down exactly 5 inches from the trunk). windshield flex, roof flex, trunk latch ripped out of my frame so I welded it lower on the frame (=no rattle).(gained more db's) ;)

I once threw together a setup for 195 bucks Total! used kole kmx 15. slightly less port area than the 2 12 box on an mrp-450. hit a 139.6 @ 41hz ( young Jeezy air Force's) 138.8 at 38hz(Tyga lapdance) and a 137.6@ 37hz (Gucci mane Atlanta zoo)

The few place local that sell sundown u pretty much have to trade ur girl and first born to get it.
