At those RPM's I will be shocked if the gearbox holds up without some sort of cooling. I am hearing things in the audio that sound like gearbox noise as well, and if that's the case I wouldn't expect many flights out of that part. The rest of the motor seems well built, it starts quickly (you might be going to full temps a little quickly for my taste honestly), and the throttle response is incredible. Overall this seems like a great product that might need a better gearbox.
@thelightersideofrc Жыл бұрын
Keep in mind with these turbo props that the gear box is cooled and lubricated with fuel. On the larger models, the fuel runs through the gear box prior to going in the engine reducing heat. This new generation of Turbo Props have been amazing. This video was from a couple years ago and this exact turbo prop now has over 15 ish hours on it and still working great!

Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about, and mean no disrespect, but it just seems that tech savvy people don't seem to use common sense, If they would just stop and think if the wind is in your way of reading your instruments!? Wouldn't it be better to build your engine platform with the wind blast, and engine at a 90 degree angle on your board, for your wind steam prop blast to be out of the instruments readings your trying to see and read!? and if the power of the turbine is so strong, you could back your vehicle up next to the door and chain, or cable it to your car frame to keep it from tipping, or moving, or even putting a cement eyebolt drilled into your cement floor that can be screwed in and taken back out when not in use so people don't trip on the eyebolt, or bolts!? Just some ideas, and food for thought! Very cool engine!
