For those that are going to ask. Airframe $6895.00, special paint $600.00. Retracts: $3895.00. Gear door set: $195.00. Cockpit $895.00. Light Set: $295.00. Working canopy: $165.00. Speed brake: $165.00. Weathering: $595.00. Total cost for JUST the airframe/gear etc as seen: $13700. Recommended minimum of 2x 40lb turbines, so let's stay safe and go with 2x 48.5lb thrust. So 2x 4299.00: $8598.00 Servos (2x $179 for elevators), and 7x 129.00 for the rest.: $1261.00 I won't go into the crazy amount of gear needed for the radio and turbines but let's stay safe and say $3000 Subtotal is going to run you AROUND $27 THOUSAND dollars.

@08:09 I don't fly R/C models but this video popped up on my feed. I can help with the F-15 specific details. 87-189 is from the 334th based at Seymour Johnson AFB in North Carolina. SJ is an F-15E B course base for pilots new to the F-15E. I've never been stationed at SJ, F-15C guys went to Tyndall AFB for our B course. The F-15C and F-15E are very different and have very little mission commonality, so different B schools. Anyway the livery or paintjob you have is from the late 20-teens, 2017 or 2018, it's a WWII heritage scheme, and it looks pretty spot on. The tail-number font is wrong and the 'mudhen' grey isn't quite dark enough for an E-model, but that is all that jumped out to me detail wise so far.
@stevesp388 күн бұрын
Hey Based. I was a crew chief. Started at Luke working on A models back in 1982. Yes, I am ancient. I ended up working on all the models except B models. Never crewed one of them. I was active duty from 1981 to 2002. Retired and then went into civil service at Robins on F-15 depot maintenance and my final job was at the boneyard at Davis-Monthan. It was a bittersweet job. I was a Quality Assurance inspector and there were airplanes there I had crewed as a young airman.

Love this jet. Worked in the 15 in the military in Alaska 10:30 we would have to wash these jets and they couldn't be signed off till those steaks were gone. Mine you it was a grease like consistency and it would come out of many places, especially where things moved you would get anti-sieze 23:57 that is either the d or e model. B/d/e are two seaters while a/c are single seaters. I'm inclined to say d model 25:50 No safety pins? 28:08 intakes don't pivot that's interesting

Makes me miss my spitfire custom built with a miniaturised v12 engine also scaled down to the original engine. Sadly wrecked in 2012. Only the engine survived and no spares available. Was a gift and had loads of fun. Also had 3 types of ammo belts from daisy, paintball and yes very small caliber rounds. Max ammo capacity for each was 50 rounds due to weight as well as 5 gallon drop tank. She may be lost but not forgotten. Engine was later scrapped.

@thelightersideofrc it's sad, but I had fun. Holy Crap that's Huge!!! Love it, and can't wait to see it fly. Beautiful paint scheme too. My only gripe (and I have the same gripe no matter the model or the scale) is the over-emphasis of panel lines. I shake my head and ask why? @29:40 where you are standing with the model and where the cameraman is, is about 100 or so "scaled" feet. I mean scale, relative to the scale of the model. Go stand an actual 100 feet from a real F-15 and see if you see those panel lines that prominent. They're not. Anyway- Super cool model and couldn't be with a better person to put it together and fly! HAve fun with it!!!

Great Video! Why do you take a different servo for nose wheel? The MKS 599 on all rudders has nearly the same specs than the 9930 you planned for the nose (same torque of ~40kg, similar speed, same size). Why is the 9930 better for nose wheel and the 599 better for the rudders? Thanks for your videos, they are a great inspiration!
@thelightersideofrc5 күн бұрын
Generally we would use a MKS 1220 HV for the nose but on these larger aircraft we will up spec it so the 9930 is a good option. Could use a 599 as well but not needed. 599 will be used everywhere else.

21:05 that emblem refers to the "334th Fighter Squadron". The 334th was constituted on 22 August 1942 as an incorporation of the No. 71 Squadron RAF, an Eagle Squadron of American volunteers in Great Britain's Royal Air Force. After the United States entered the war, the squadron was transferred to the U.S. Army Air Forces. It was officially constituted by War Department letter on 12 August 1942, and was activated at Bushey Hall, England on 12 September 1942. It operated in WW2, the Korean War, Vietnam, Desert Storm, etc, STILL exists and is based out of Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, North Carolina, as part of 4th Operations Group.
