Hey there! The abbreviation mm Hg means millimeters of mercury. Mercury was used in the first accurate pressure gauges and is still used in medicine today as the standard unit of measurement for pressure.

I remember pretty much everyone used to put a pressure tap into the muffler/tuned pipe of their RC engines to pressurize the fuel tank(s). The advantage of using a pressure tank I guess is that you don't need to prime the engine to get it to start. Those Kolm engines are amazing!
@thelightersideofrc Жыл бұрын
Yea should be nice a reliable! Also simple!
@shelbyseelbach9568 Жыл бұрын
LOL. You still need to prime the engine. The pressure nipple only provides pressure to the tank when the engine is running. Not to point out the obvious, but...........
@shelbyseelbach9568 Жыл бұрын
@CRASH ALEXANDER I can see how both are required, and your wording was accurate. I'm man enough to easily say that. No big deal. The exhaust nipple itself wouldn't supply fuel to the motor without the flexible pick up and the flexible pick would do nothing without the exhaust nipple. You got me, buddy. LOL. The mind can be a tricky thing early in the morning! Edit. I even went ahead and deleted that comment, maybe that'll help you can down. We don't need any blood pressure incidents. It's just KZbin. You'll get over it, I hope? 😝😋😛😘
@shelbyseelbach9568 Жыл бұрын
@CRASH ALEXANDER Yes, I read your post. I added the explanation that the motor won't provide pressure until it's running. Is that not okay? Should I have asked permission to explain a little further? It is a public comment section, after all. Isn't it? I could be mistaken again, I guess? WHY ARE YOU SHOUTING ABOUT EVERYTHING? It's not that big a deal, my friend. Take a breath, drink a Bud Light, and calm down. It'll be okay, I promise you. 🤪😜😘

I am not at all familiar with these engines, but seems like some kind of shroud assembly inside the cowl could be a good idea. I probably would have even drilled a few outlet holes in the backwall of the engine test stand right behind the rear cylinder head for the test run.

In May 2020, he bought Thomas a kolm 230 v4 identical to his, and now I'm behind the strega like his. the kolm instructions are very scarce and perhaps you could give me some advice. For now, how can I re-prime the engine with a pump? Or better with a second empty tank? is the engine carbureted? Is there a manual? any exploded diagram? etc As for the streha, is it necessary to buy the support kit for the kolm? is it possible to make it at home? Thank you very much, I love your videos. And if you can inform me more about the matter, I would be very pleased. greetings.

Thanks Dantes. Kolm Manual available on their website. Also if you look at their Facebook page there are some pictures of the pressure tank setup.
