Praying for you! I have three surgeries in three months the spring. Was diagnosed with endometrial cancer. Fortunately caught it very early so now it’s just watch and make sure no cancer develops from this point on. You are such and positive inspiration! 😍

It's been 18 years since my first brain surgery. I've had nearly 2 decades to figure out how to find the good stuff when life isn't perfect. It's especially important for me to do this so my kids see we always have a choice. Life isn't perfect, but how we approach it makes such a difference. Thinking of you! I've had almost 40 surgeries because of childhood appendicitis which has had lifelong consequences: the inability to have children; intestinal pseudo-obstruction; loss of flap over esophagus so I can't lie flat or bend over too long; etc., so know that you're not alone :) Life is great though, and I always remember that I have so much to be grateful for, like the ability to pay for the internet and watch your awesome make-up videos!!! I'm sorry you're dealing with medical problems as well Judy. That's terrible. I was the angry and upset person when all of this started 18 years ago with my first brain surgery. It took so much energy to be angry, I don't want to spend my energy that way. I also know that even though I'm dealing with this medical problem, life is still good. That's what I want to focus on. Sydney Grace has been my only brand the past few years. Everything they offer is beautiful. I didn't buy much this year, except for day one I had to get "Blessed" x GlitzyFritzy and so I threw in Unbreakable Bond to get Love's Journey. They are such a fantastic company. I have stopped watching most youtubes because of the overwhelming "buy this" mentality. But I watch your SG videos probably a few times! Ok, I see now that I've been unclear. I'm sorry. I've had 5 brain surgeries, and 9 non-brain surgeries. My other surgeries are all for random one off things. Kidney stones, C-sections, Ovarian Cysts, Gallbladder removal and subsequent surgeries due to complications from gallbladder removal. It took 4 surgeries to successfully remove my gallbladder and take care of all my complications. I tend to have lots of complications with surgery, and I end up needing bonus surgeries. That's where I would love a surgery punch card. Have 10 surgeries and the 11th is free. I know it doesn't work that way, but a loyalty card would come in handy with medical stuff too. This shunt replacement will be my 6th brain surgery, and 15th surgery over all. The brain surgeries are the serious ones. The 7 hour surgeries are the ones that are really scary. This upcoming shunt surgery shouldn't be that bad. Only 3 hours, and it'll be my 3rd one. I totally know what to expect and I hope to not have any complications. That should get me in and out of the hospital in 2 days. Thanks so much for the love and hugs! I appreciate it. I love SG as a brand. They're my favorite eyeshadow formula, and I love their palettes so much. I have been using the Blessed palette by Glitzy Fritzy so much recently. I took it with me on vacation this summer, and for several weekend getaways. It's so good. I hope you love it. I really like Unbreakable Bond as well. That's why I picked it up for my best friend. I added my prayer in there too :) I got the light gray mystery bag (which had cream products and some powder shadows) and I was similarly fascinated by the thin application of the cream blush. I got Strawberry Cheescake in the bag and I’m waiting on Ballerina. I really like the highlighter from the bag too. I feel you on conscious selection; this year I got one blush, one brush and the mystery bag for the cream products that weren’t available individually-and I ended up being surprised and pleased that I could use pretty much everything. I ended up giving a few things to my mom because she loves SG too. It seems this was their biggest year yet! They ran out of packing material, which cracks me up.

I am so glad you feel like you can open up and talk about your struggles here. I can definitely relate to the health related issues and the stress that comes with them. I will be praying for you! I placed four Sydney Grace orders! I have loved their eyeshadows for a few years now. The first day I ordered some single shadows and the Summer Days palette and got the Love's Journey palette for free! I tried it out today and LOVE it. The second day I ordered a powder blush, a lip cream, a cream eyeshadow and the foundation brush. I haven't received that order yet. On the third day I ordered the Cream Mystery Bag (Latte Light). I just got that one in today and haven't tried anything yet but I'm excited about what was in it. On the last day I ordered a bunch of single shadows I was wanting to add to my collection. The extra shadows sure are nice also!

Do you have all the brushes, or just the eye brushes. I picked up the entire face set, and only some of the eye brushes. I didn't think that I'd use all of the shapes. In previous years I've been more focused on singles, but I have so many, I really don't "need" anymore. I think I only ordered 4 or 5 singles. Thanks so much for your kind words. Thanks. I have my follow up with my doctor on Wednesday. I'm expecting to hear that I need to have another surgery, but I haven't heard officially yet. I don't expect that with my diagnosis, and test results of "shunt malfunction" that they'll tell me I'm fine, and don't need to have it replaced. I really appreciate the prayers. Thank you so much. I have myself permission to pick up all the palettes I knew I'd use. There are some that aren't for me. (Tropicolor, and the brighter 2 from the Temptalia Collab) I just don't wear shades like the ones in those palettes. I will use the heaven on earth palette and loves journey. Surgery is always rough having to have a the same surgery again seems hard. Best wishes! I always avoid mystery boxes for that reason. Yes I’m saving money but I’d rather have exactly what I will use.

Yes! I finally gave myself permission to skip the mystery box. I liked the design of the makeup bag so much I purchases just the bag. It should be here soon. Thanks so much for your kind words. I am sorry to hear of the issues you are dealing with, sounds very challenging and wish you the very best as you navigate through this. I went a little ape at the SG sale but gave myself permission to. I bought 11 brushes and 9 singles. I got two bonus singles with my brush order which was a nice surprise, I think they were singles from the now gone Be Mine palette but not totally sure. Excited to get my singles though! Those palettes sold like hotcakes! I thought about the clearanced ones but ultimately decided to pass even though they were such a great deal. 😄

Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm hoping for the best too. I have an amazing neurosurgeon, and he's done 4 of my previous 5 brain surgeries. I have complete trust in him and his team. He's the reason I drive 5 hours one way for doctor's appointments, treatments and surgeries. I just won't let anyone in my little town near my head unless it's an emergency. (and then, they pop me on a helicopter and fly me to Seattle) I'll be fine, I just happened to record this video while my panic hamster was still processing the test results.

@@allisonbb716 yes. I remind myself constantly that worry never actually helps, it just makes things worse. I allow myself time to process the information, feel all the feelings, and then I tell myself repeatedly to chill. No RedBull for the panic hamster! 🐹🤪 I began recording this video 5 minutes after learning that my shunt isn't working. An hour later, after feeling all the feels, I was much calmer. I'm glad to say I haven't been unhinged since I recorded this on Tuesday afternoon. It's not always like this, but I'm glad I'm not still allowing my panic hamster to spin on the wheel. Thanks for the reminder to chill. Thanks for also being willing to watch me process this new information. It was very therapeutic for me. 😘

I’ll be praying for your mental state and health! Fellow Sydney Grace fan over here ❤ there were cream blushes released in the May(?) bundle, one shade was in the light bundle and another shade in the deep bundle. Then they weren’t available until they were released during Christmas in July! They did sell out of the blush shades very quickly during the sale. I ended up with 3 blushes and 3 highlighters from the sale 😅

And I spent maybe 250 dollars but not more than 300 dollars🦋🦋 my purchases included all the discontinued palettes, lip creams, and lip toppers, eyebrow palette and the eyebrow pomade, just to name a few things🤣. I am a 40 “something” year old RN that has bee struggling with almost daily migraines for the last 3 years. It has been quite eye opening to be on the other side of the health care system that I have been a part of. So I won’t say “I feel your pain” but I will say I have a different perspective now that will enhance my my practice with patients. I think you are doing well….practicing gratitude, makeup playtime… are all good strategies to deal with chronic pain and not “suffer”. May I recommend a book written by a neurologist colleague of mine that I found helpful? The Last Day of Suffering… Five Steps to Health and Happiness by Jinny Tavee MD. It talks about practical lifestyle changes/self-care strategies that helped me in my journey. Also, your eyebrows look great. 😊

My mom is a retired RN, and my dad is double boarded in anesthesia and pain management. I mention that to say that I have seen behind the curtain as to what it's like to be a provider. It's not my personal experience, but I've heard about it since I was a wee little kid. I know it's hard, and at times thankless work. Thanks for caring for you patients with your thoughtful perspective. As someone who is regularly the patient, it makes such a difference when there's obvious care from the nurse or doctor. I've almost always had that experience with my providers. When I feel like I'm getting rushed or passed over, I remind myself that that provider might be having a bad day. I certainly have mine. I'm sorry to hear that you have migraines. Headaches are the worst! I'll look up the book you recommended. I know the bulk of my pain comes from my dura being full of scar tissue, and it's actually attached to the cerebellum. The last time I had surgery for my chiari malformation, my neurosurgeon said that he was surprised at how much of my dura was attached to the cerebellum, and it would probably heal that way again. (boo!) He painstakingly removed all of the dura before doing a cerebellar tonsillectomy to improve my CSF flow. Studies have shown it has reattached. There aren't practical lifestyle changes I can make to reduce my daily pain, but I'd love to read a book by a neurologist that discussed self care strategies. Thanks for the recommendation. Thanks for making the time to watch today, and I hope you find a good solution to your migraines. Pain sucks!
