Although not onscreen: Harvey Keitel and Brad Pitt were in Inglorious Basterds together - Harvey is the commanding officer directing Lt. Aldo Raine (might have name wrong) to capture Christoph Waltz' character

A deleted scene which IMO should have stayed in shed more light on Jimmy/Louise. They have long been on again/off again and he was stringing her along. He didn't wanna commit and would go off on his own a lot, but he didn't wanna lose her. He was not stability. She got him to confess that the ring was an emergency ring. Basically, a 'shut up' ring. He got it when she went to TX to lure her back; but she came back on her own so he didn't think he'd need it but he held it in case he thought he ever needed to lure her back again, he held onto it to manipulate her with it. They talked about how she expected him to just know how she felt and what she wanted, and how she would get mad when he would try to ask. She had walls up and he had trouble breaking them down basically. You could see he was also hot headed and could be a volatile in the scene they kept. Neither were bad people and they did love each other, but they just couldn't get a relationship to work. She didn't want to get him involved by dragging him along or even telling him too much.

What a thorough and thoughtful review! It was such a pleasure watching as another big fan of the movie! Not surprised at all that some unnamed executive called it "two bitches in a car", and that stuck as it was being shopped around. Gotta wonder which exec it might've been - especially in today's climate of unmasking some of the misogyny in Hollyweird. I don't know if it's the general consensus that this is considered a feminist film, but I'm not a feminist, and I've always loved it, just because it's full of great characters and is a compelling story. I never really thought that it might be a message and a "what if" story about women who finally freak out and retaliate after dealing with enough sexist bullcrap in their day to day lives. I was a teenage grass-fed midwestern American girl at the time this movie came out, and I remember plenty of it back then, but it was also more accepted back then. A lot of ways women were treated back in the 80s (and certainly before that) would never be acceptable now, thankfully. Having said all that, I hope you'll forgive me a "woo woooo!" at young Brad Pitt, here! Even back then I had a feeling we'd not be seeing the last of him! :)

Great movie, good people involved in production behind the camera but also in front there are some of the best actors of the 90's, Hollywood often glorifies violence and crime, but this movie does a good job balancing all those aspects and has many layers and themes that are still relevant today

Avoided the film for years because I thought it was a feminist film. Have just watched it and think it deserves the acclaim it got. Think also it no less silly to call it a feminist film just because the protagonists are women whose antagonists are men than it is to accuse a man of misogyny because he criticises a woman. There are both sympathetic men in the film and nasty ones, just as there are in any film, which makes the misandry/feminism criticism perfectly invalid.

There are a couple of problems with it, it’s hard to believe those two would be with such loser men, especially Geena’s character. Also there is no way they would leave all their money in that hotel room. Apart from that great movie.

This is one of those movies I’ve mostly known my whole life because my mom liked it a lot when it came out. But I enjoyed it too even as a kid in the early 90s. I revisited it in my 20s when I bought the dvd in 2013 out of nostalgia and I enjoyed it as an adult. I haven’t watched it since then, so there’s a lot of scenes I just always forget about in it. Unlike other classic movies that I’ve seen a hundred times and know every scene by heart, Thelma and Louise usually stays “new-ish” in my head because I only watched it a few times spread out over 30 years. Even in this review you mentioned things that I forgot happens in the movie, which just makes me wanna revisit it.
