Spence is the most underrated trail system in Oregon, it has everything except for wood features. Moore park being next to downtown is awesome too. Love being able to ride my bike without having to drive to the TH.

Travelling to the U.S and Canada next summer which will include a month or two in the PNW so looking forward to more locations in the series where we will be able to ride. Well done for putting Klamath Falls on our radar as it will be a must do for us now. Fantastic to see more ride areas welcoming and accepting ebikes in the U.S. Being from Australia we have never understood the dislike towards ebikes from other trail users, even worse by fellow (acoustic) MTBers over there.

Thanks for the comment and we hope you have a great time on your trip! We're not sure either but hope that it continues to shift...There will always be hold outs but if we can at least get people to drop the confrontational superiority complex, we'll be in a better spot for sure.

As a mountain biker and someone who grew up in KFalls this is awesome to see! Though I no longer live in Southern Oregon, I have been down to ride in Klamath three times now. Now that I have an EMTB, I have another reason to go!

Great video. I was wondering when was the exact time in the Spring they visited and filmed this? I try to hit Bend in that perfect transition time between Spring and Summer but am hoping the window before hot Summer and dry dust/dirt in KF might be a bit different. This would mean we could spend even more time enjoying Oregon by doing Bend and adding KF to a longer trip. Same would apply for the late September through late October travel/time period?

I guess being able to eat a cinnamon roll for breakfast is an advantage for e-bikes. I couldn't do a big climb on all that sugar.

Regarding e-bikes, I can only guess, but Klamath County likely received a grant from the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department, which specifically dictates proper ebikes be allowed in areas developed for biking. Maybe some day the NFS will catch up to where the rest of the nation is moving on that point.

Hope not. Watch some videos or find some pictures, and read some articles on how damaging lithium and cobalt mining is to the environment and how children are used to mine in 3rd world countries, along with the reduced lifespan due to breathing highly contaminated air in the mines. Then weigh that against your personal convenience of not having to work your ass off pedaling up hill or on rough sections of what look like moto trails in the vid.

@@JF-lt5zc Apologies for my 'reactive' reply. Coffee had not kicked in and there seems to be a lot of people on forums with very non-understanding perspectives on e-bike use. The up side is that in 3 years of using one, I have never run into any overt animosity on the trails. I still ride standard MTB as well, but the difference is often in driving or shuttling to the trails vs. just hopping on the e-bike from the house.

I'm not against E-Bikes but like other motorized two wheelers, the user should be required to hold a liability policy in case of a trail accident. Because E-Bikes have more energy than a normal mtn bike. Ride on
@kenalexander8809 Жыл бұрын
I don't know if you have ever riden an e-MTB, but now that in my 50's it makes going uphill alot more enjoyable and I don't find myself going faster down hill than on my analog bikes.

P.S. I forgot to add that the motor doesnt assist you when above 20 mph. Level 1 bikes are only pedal assist and there isnt a throttle.
@TheLoamWolf Жыл бұрын
Interesting thoughts. We’d like to know what you mean by have more energy? Are you referring to a head on collision scenario? If so, would that be different than the energy an expert 220lb non-ebike rider going downhill would have hitting a rider vs a 160lb rider?
@yodapig Жыл бұрын
@@TheLoamWolf exactly, and the weight difference isn't even that much - 20-25lbs at most.
