High on my list is a quiet motor. I just watched a video on this same bike filmed in the same location by Steve at Electric Mountain Bike Network channel. He says his fav thing about the bike is that it is, "almost totally silent"... but you are saying," The noise is quite loud...people will know you are riding an ebike". You both tested the same bike at the same location it appears from the backgrounds...So what's the truth on the noise? Quite or annoying loud is quite a difference of opinion for the same bike. You two are my top fav reviewers. Thanks!
@BorisHatter-cz4bb4 ай бұрын
I have one and had lots of e-bikes. This is the most silent I’ve had.
@lozetchells9164 Жыл бұрын
Gotta say, I own a Gen3 Bosch CX bike and a 2022 Levo and I'd choose the Levo Brose motor over the Bosch CX every day of the week, especially for noise (or lack of it). By far the quietest ebike motor I've ever ridden and so lovely and torquey
@lozetchells9164 Жыл бұрын
@@pebbleinspector the Bosch CX? Yeah that died at 2000 miles. Both it and the replacement were FAR noisier than my Brose. I'm not saying the Bosch CX is the noisiest motor out there but compared to the Brose, it's far noisier both uphill and down.
@fzr1000981 Жыл бұрын
Long term Brose/SRAM reliability is a big question mark. Bosch reliability is well established and the Bosch race motor is winning races. Yes it rattles but doesn’t really bother me
@vidibites Жыл бұрын
Any idea if this will filter down to super light emtbs? This is too much travel and weight for me, but I love the tech. Trek EXE style.
@whitest_kyle Жыл бұрын
I wouldn't be surprised if Sram released a lighter, lower power motor at some point... because damn that thing looks thick and heavy in a bad way lol.
@camwoo Жыл бұрын
I have the current Megawatt so I'm sure this thing rides amazingly well. It looks like the improved on every aspect of the bike with the exception of battery removal. I wouldn't consider sliding the battery out the bottom of the frame to be particularly easy or fast. I'm sure it's due to the Sram/Brose architecture but I still think it's a design flaw.
@ArmorOfZeus Жыл бұрын
It's very simple to remove. Just lay the bike on its side. Lossen the drop out bolt, pull. Easy peasy
@chrisk5125 Жыл бұрын
Love the way the battery removal works on the Santa Cruz Heckler. Just unlatch with an Allen key, done. Snaps right back in with no tool at all
@camwoo Жыл бұрын
Yes that's great! More companies need to embrace tool-less battery removal for eMTBs@@chrisk5125

IMO Auto-shift has no place in this kind of riding (tourer or street bikes it does) The real improvement in the new drivetrain solutions is shift while coasting. I still lean more towards Pinion MGU system, though.

You should be testing an XL. 474 reach for someone over 6ft 2 is far too short even though you have a shirt torso haha. Especially for a race bike

It’s super nice, but I’ll never spend that much on a bike, they only last so long so the value for the life of the bike just ain’t worth it. 5k is about max for me, even that is a lot of money!
@Vodafone16v Жыл бұрын
For $5k you can buy a KILLER eMTB in the used market. The simpler the operating system the better for me. New eMTBs have way too much sensors and stuff... and for me, an eMTB NEEDS to be de-restricted to unleash the real fun.
@50whatnomadtravelnursemtb5 Жыл бұрын
@@Vodafone16v I do own a Giant e-bike, was closer to 5500 and no they don’t need to be de- restricted to be fun. Just saying I will never pay this much for any bicycle let alone an e-bike.

Since you use a lot of Pov footage in these videos I think would be very important to spend the money on the best action cam or if you already have it spend the time learning how to properly record with it in different environments. Can't watch the pov footage now as it looks is 10 years old... I like your videos in general but the pov is hard to watch every time 😊
@TheLoamWolf Жыл бұрын
What do you think the POV footage lacks? It's the latest camera, so would be interested to know what we need to know differently.
@uskypg Жыл бұрын
@@TheLoamWolf I watch KZbin on a big TV 4k screen. to put it simple :just compare the quality of the video where you are in front of the camera(or any other Loam wolf member from the videos on the channel) with the POV. That pov honestly looks like a 480p video from many years ago. I don't know what camera you use, if you say "it's the latest" then maybe you should spend time to change settings. I owned a go pro 10 and now a go pro 11, the videos with both were stellar honestly using all the time 5.3k. Only scenario where video is poor is lower light conditions, but that is valid for all action cameras. I love the channel and Ron's work /stellar rising skills, but this POV quality is impossible to watch....

Don’t know why you should wait to let the bike point uphill then grind though gears (loud and harshly). Like in your last vid it sounded horrible grinding gears once pointed uphill in a sudden matter. Is it that hard to look ahead and pre shift and ride correctly? Seems this is making you a worse rider with bad habits?
@TheLoamWolf Жыл бұрын
It was to test the autoshift system in an extreme circumstance. Of course you can look ahead and pre shift, and should try to avoid such behaviour.
