Depends on location. In Las Vegas, this would really brighten up. Don't know if where it's located is always cloudy like the day of the video. The addition of well placed skylights and additional interior lighting would add greatly to balance out the interior. Some rooms border on too much light and the bathroom is a cave.
@jimhim5852 жыл бұрын
Do you mean the color palette? There is an abundance of windows and high ceilings. It just happened to be an overcast day outside, they probably kept the interior lighting low for that reason - to not blow out the video. I don't like white interiors, I think the warmth of the interior color palette suits the location and surroundings.

The use of natural light with skylights and what appeared to be floor to ceiling windows is beautiful as well as innovative lighting features. The blending of two style meaning minimalism and glamour is divine. It's really well done and instantly comfortable. The effort from the architects in the design is evident. It's such a breathtakingly beautiful home with such great lines. Well done!

Idk if the local project got a new editor/videographer or if they're going in a different direction stylistically but some of the newer edits are so chaotic and obscenely distracting that it makes it hard to enjoy the videos anymore. You have these beautiful calm environments with a quiet interview and then it's cut with super upbeat music and inception-esque spinning transitions. It does such a disservice to the architects, designers, and the home itself. Not sure if it's a quality control thing or maybe they're trying to pump out too many videos and prioritizing quantity over quality but no matter the case it's depressing to see a channel that once made such well done artistic videos putting out stuff that's simply hard to watch 😢

@mavigogun8 ай бұрын
What "barn forms"? While I dig the esthetic, a rectangle with a gabbled roof does not equate to a barn. Ask a child to draw a house in many parts of the world, and this is they shape they will produce.

The shots are very conceptual, capturing what the beauty of angles, materials and lighting brings to minimalist design. It's treating this building as art, which it certainly is... I do think however that I'd rather have a more humane approach to the photography, considering the designer himself said he was proud of the feeling he gets from "being there". I don't know if what I say makes sense but I don't really feel like I "visited" the house enough from this video. Something's missing. Nice place and editing though.

It's hard to put a price on it. Land and labour costs aside, the construction industry in Australia is experiencing major supply chain issues lately and prices can change on a week by week basis. I doubt this house cost less than $3000-5000 per sqm to build (not including land, professional fees and council contribution fees). Since we don't know how much floor area they have, it's really hard to say how much it costs.

I like the clustering of classic building forms but the notion of planting them on driveway gravel ruins it for me. The poetry is lost in favor of automotive access. It’s the relationship to landscape and the other volumes needs to be carefully articulated for success.
