Not many videos on KZbin for the AG98 so I appreciate the time you've taken to make this one. Picked up an AG98 today to do some 1mm thick ABS edge banding on melamine. The iron method doesn't seem to work on the relatively thick ABS as it starts melting the top before it heats the glue on the under side, so I'm really hoping the AG98 solves this by heating the glue directly. Thanks again for the how-to!

I've not ever tried abs so that will be interesting to know! Yea hardly any vids on this machine! I'm glad its helped a little 👍

Funny I've been using edge banding tape for years with an iron, but this week I decided to try your fill and sand method for some narrow shelves. Worked out OK I think. Undercoat looks OK. Probably even quicker than the tape and certainly cheaper.

I've been running one of these for years... It's a super bit of kit..very well made ..I don't think this is designed to do numerous straight runs...more for occasional and curved work...I used it in conjunction with a floor standing machine. It is 100 times better than an iron and opens up many options as you are heating the glue directly not the material. I wouldn't be without mine.

Can you not just use some scissors to cut the tape in front if the roller? Might work out quicker than the rethreading option

That Bosch mitre saw that you have linked below, are you happy with it? I bought the simpler version of it a few months ago and brought it back. I does not cut straight or square because of excessive blade wobble/drift.

What size edge banding material do you get for 3/4 material? I'm assuming 1 inch, then trim. What are you trimming the edge with?

Hi I think it comes in 22mm wide for 18mm boards. We just use a round over cutter in your trimmer

Hi Ryan Would appreciate some help; I purchased the paintable edging you linked in your videos. Done 3 coats of eggshell and it looks nice but by just by coincidence I noticed if i use my nail and pick on the paint it comes away and the white can be seen. Is this something you have come across ? Just concerned overtime the paint is just going to come off ? I even tried using primer on one of the pieces and it’s the same issue

Maybe I'm talking out of my arse but because of the placement of the cutter it seems to me it should be pushed to band and not pulled. Obviously I can't see the thing close up but see if there's a way to thread the banding in from the front which makes sense to me and then it'll cut the right way ❓❓❓ Good luck with it 🍀🍀🍀🤣

I will just fix the roll feeder at the end of workbench and iron as I pull from the feeder then cut with a scissor when done 😁
