Clayton Moore, Roy Rodgers, and even Chuck Connors as _The Rifleman_ all played fantastic Heroes and Role Models for us kids in the 50's & 60's, with upstanding morals & ethics. So, presumably most children spotted the major flaw in the storyline when this came out? The traitor climbed the ridge with no water. The Lone Ranger and Tonto were "...several days..." beside the spring with water, and food. Since humans can only last 3 days without water, how was the traitor in any condition to try to ambush them and steal Scout after those same "several days" without water (and wounded?)???
