How do we know what happens so far in the future? I thought the novels stopped MUCH earlier, as did the games? Where does the end of days fulfillment come from? Is that canon???

I love this series, thank you so much for creating it. I’ll be recommending it to friends who also like The Witcher universe. I have one small criticism that hopefully will be useful in the future. Your use of the word “depredation” is incorrect. Depredation refers to the consumption of agricultural resources like grain and livestock, especially as plunder. For example, a village could suffer depredation at the hands of an invading army which raids their granaries and takes their cattle. To describe monsters hunting and eating humans, the word “predation” is better suited, since it refers to the actions of a predator toward prey.

Oh my god, I think I'm falling in love with this fandom, idk why but it all started with me watching season 2 of the show. Also, I'd like some advice concerning the books because I've started reading the 1st one and it seemed really weird to me, like a piece of some tail torn out somewhere from the middle. It's said on the Internet that the first 2 books just contain random stories and the "ordinary" format of the books starts only with the Blood of Elves, the 3rd book. So the thing is, I'm not sure I'll survive I think a 1000 pages (in total) of disconnected stories. Also, it's said that it's pointless to start reading with the Blood of Elves. Someone help me please P.S it's also said that the world setting in the books is terrible but the characters are great
@TheLorebrarians3 жыл бұрын
Though the Last Wish and Sword of Destiny collections don't follow the main "story" they do well to introduce major characters and the setting as standalone tales. So I'd still recommend starting with them if you want the complete "witcher" experience

I would try and get trough at least the last wish. It has to grow on you a bit. It really sets the world up. There are important parts in there that sets off the main story. It has the best of the short stories to tell. A grain of truth' is really great. A question of price' is a very important story. For the sword of destiny book 2 stories really matter, the title story and the 'something more' story. These are really fun and all but the best witcher books are the last three. Babtism of fire, Tower of Swallows (my favorite) and lady of the lake.(which has the craziest shit happening) thats the juicy part of the witcher tales. I hope this helps
@mg17213 жыл бұрын
don't listen to the internet, just start reading and see for yourself. they are not entirely disconnected, they establish the background for geralt and yen and the world in general so getting into blood of elves feels natural and immersive.
@Maya1una3 жыл бұрын
I read them all but I’m not sure I could have gone through Blood of Elves without reading The last wish and Sword of Destiny first. I would have been lost, also Blood of Elves is not an easy read either so I understand you.

Don't fall in love with the fandom. Fall in love with the world and lore. Fandom's are typically awful, while the things they are fans of are so much better than what they get.

Well speaking on the cosmology of the spears and the void they traveled through it would seem that they were directly driven in there conjunctions and precession by a point source that gave off heat. Probably magical lines of force like the magnetic ones around magnets these spheres tracked and there seems to be a point at which the planet (extra planer reality?) passes outside of the goldilocks zone for a Time to be frozen. It would be a lot more ridged then the N body problem in this reality Probably multiple spheres tracking along the same force lines possibly on collision courses because of that. Rng anomalies causing lines of force to swing closer or farther away and extra planer realities (or planets?) To switch directions and switch force lines. Read half of a book by niven and saw the idea implemented by Peter F Hamilton. Post physical race simulated into existence by a central intelligence. They walked paths that were essentially really fancy wormholes that stitched there reality together like one realm. The final level was a low gravity environment like a gas halow with tree reefs the processed around a small artificial star on convection currents and Probably tractor beams. Also read one about pocket dimensions created inside of single ended wormholes inflated and filled with outside matter. Anchored on Sun surfing A.I shells. The deviation from fantasy is minor as it could all be pseudo natural phenomenon relative to the Witcher but the conjunction and arrivals seem like rng. Another is the Ordinary by Jim Grimsley which kind of follows similar lines of being pseudo fantasy but I digress. I really like the video.

In these videos he keeps referring to this realm as Earth. Is that its official name or is it just referring to a sphere like object in space that we would normally call a planet?

It's just another word I use to mean "world" I don't believe the realm has a true name
