Oh yeah! Super excited! Especially because the video answers the question if it will work with my bike (got the aluminum version). So great!! Just installed the Vivid on my Nukeproof Giga because my EXT Storia blew out and I was signed up for a race. Initial set was quick and dirty, hooked up ShockWiz and got it dialed. It completely changed my bike for the better and the Giga is incredible now it feels even better. Racing it this weekend so time will tell how well it performs.

I purchased a Vivid for my non-Cascade Link Stumpy Evo based on this review and after about 5 rides on a variety of terrain from tech to flow I can say my experiences with this shock on this bike pretty much mirror Mike's. The bike lost a tiny bit of "pop" but made up for it in smoother takeoffs and a huge amount of confidence in carrying speed through the trail and on the landings.

Already got the newer 2023 Lyrik Ultimate on my Ripmo and love it over my old Fox Factory Grip2. They definitely knocked it out of the park with the new compression design. Flow trails feel smooth and downhills are a lot more fun. Can't wait to get the Vivid next to replace my crappy X2. Even my Jade X coil shock feels a lot better than my X2. It's sad cause I was a big fan of Fox suspensions for a long time, but I've been feeling underwhelmed by their products lately. I'm sure many will disagree with me, but it feels like Fox is just being carried by their reputation at this point.

Same luxury problem here 😂 Well, all that is even more interesting to see against the background of the Fox 2022er X2/DHX2 disaster. Anyway. I'll give the coil something to eat in Nauders, Schladming and Sölden soon (all 🇦🇹). Have you considered a Sprindex spring, having a adjustable spring rate? That's what I am riding on the Enduro and it's just great to adjust spring rate and preload a bit according what is going to be tackled.

R.S. has really stepped up lately. Being over the hill, I like a smoother ride, I got the coil ultimate and am loving it. It's hard to switch when I find the feel I've always been looking for. The coil is on a yt decoy, which is very progressive. Maybe the vivid would be a better choice on my levo, being less progressive.

We've also been stoked on the new RockShox stuff! Pretty much everyone at the shop here is on it and fired up on it! Lucky for you, RockShox makes a specific tune for the Levo, so it should be a perfect fit for that frame. -Tor

this shock is apparently going to let a whole lotta trail bikes stay in that 130-150mm sweet spot, and not feel undergunned on more difficult trails. It'll be interesting to see how this shock fares with draft horse riders like me that weigh 200lbs

More dependent on the leverage ratio I think. Longer stroke for less travel is important when being a big guy on air shock. But I doubt it matters, coil is always gonna be best for someone heavy.

I’m slightly interested as well, at 200lbs here and going DHX for my SJ Evo, to resist the side loading, but expect even more stickion/friction from the vivid’s huge diameter than the float I had. I’m sure the Vivjd feels good new and clean.

If u want to have a coil that has an adjustable springrate easy, get a Sprindex. Bonus: u can adjust the springrate on the trail with a twist of the wrist. Can't do that with an airshock.

The only issue I have with bike shops making videos about new products is that you never know if they’re being honest or just trying to sell you something. If you’re selling it, you’re obviously not gonna say anything that’s actually bad about the product. Real reviews are made by people who don’t have a vested interest.

Wasn't sold on the Vivid until the black-and-white filter hit, that really drove home how serious this is... Also the IFP (internal fern placement) in this video is insanely dialed... Last thing, Mike I think you're mispronouncing the word linear... You're saying it as though one shock is more Laura Linney-er than the other, when instead I think you want to say the word kinda like Vergier, only 2.25 syllables instead of 3... Thanks for going into "vivid detail" Ok now I have to buy this shock

How does this treat the bigboys/clydes? before this clydes usually go to Float X or Coil, this seems like a possible upgrade on the Float X being that its max is 360psi max.

We haven't done any testing with heavier riders, but between the Vivid and the Super Deluxe, the Super Deluxe is the better option for the clydes! On the Stumpy evo, my co worker Adam uses 160 psi in his Super Deluxe and 200 in the Vivid to get the same sag. Both shocks have a 360 psi max, so a heavier rider is going to run up against that limit with the Vivid before they do with the Super Deluxe. Hope this helps! -Tor

Hey Mikhail! On RockShox's Vivid page on their website they have all of the sizes listed under "Specifications". As long as a bike uses a shock size that's listed there, then the Vivid will fit on that bike! There are custom tunes that RockShox makes for specific models of bike that they know a lot of people who want this shock ride, but if your bike isn't listed there, then do not worry about the custom tune and just get one that fits your frame! www.sram.com/en/rockshox/models/rs-vivd-ult-c1 -Tor

This Vivid has the Stumpy Evo specific tune! BUT that doesn't mean that you need a specific tune. If you can get a specific tune for your bike that's great, but the tune takes the shock from 99% of its performance to 100%, and doesn't make a huge difference on trail. -Tor

Great question! Every time your wheels come off the ground for a moment and your shock gets the chance to fully extend, you'll be glad the shock has slightly less friction to overcome in that initial 10% of travel when it touches the ground again. That's where the initial stroke suppleness comes from and helps give this shock that "coil-like" feeling. -Tor

We haven't gotten a big guy on it just yet but as long as you can set your sag without going over 360 psi you should be all set! Something to know is that this shock and the Super Deluxe Air have the same 360 psi max rating, but the Vivid requires more air to reach the same sag as the SD Air! So if you're running up against the max psi limits then the SD Air could be a better option! Happy shredding my dude! -Tor 😎

Very similar feeling shocks! Both are chasing after that super linear coil feeling from a big air can, and the biggest difference between them comes down to their adjustments. The Vivid has the adjustable HBO adjuster while the Float X2 has the High Speed Rebound adjuster! 😎 -Tor

Hey Anthony! I'm sure a lot of people are wondering the exact same thing, and the short answer is YES! The Vivid is going to offer a huge difference in descending performance over the Super Deluxe RT! The two main selling points of the Vivid over your current shock are the RC2T Touchdown damper and the HUGE air can to give you a super supple coil like feeling. Getting all of the compression adjustments on the RC2T damper is going to give you lots of control over how the shock feels and let you tune it to whatever trails you're riding, rather than only being able to tune the rebound on your current shock. Plus the Touchdown feature gives you great initial stroke suppleness that's going to keep your wheel glued to the trail. And that big Vivid air can makes it feel like you're riding on a cloud compared to the smaller Super Deluxe air can. -Tor 😎

Hey man! It depends on which 2020 stumpy evo you have! The 27.5 version uses a 210x52.5 shock which the Vivid is offered in, while the 29 version uses a 210x50 shock which the Vivid is NOT offered in! That might change in the future so if you've got the 29er then check back in a bit, but if you've got the 27.5 version then the Levo SL specific shock will work perfectly on your stumpy! -Tor

Do you want all out traction from your shock or slightly less traction with a little more poppyness and adjustability?
