Your answer to, "How did you know he was the one?", is also my truth. I was NOT attracted physically to my husband when I said yes to courtship. I said yes to the person he was and each and every year we've been married I'm grateful to God I said yes. He is still such a good man AND I'm physically attracted to him now. It was a risk though🤷🏾.

@@promise7407 Yes, he did. We had tried dating, for a few months, a couple years previous. I ended it because i didn't have the romantic feelings. I was honest with him and told him why. Fast forward a couple years and he asked again. After MUCH prayer and talking with wise Godly friends, i said yes. I was honest with him again and told him my feelings had not changed but i was saying yes to the person he was. He accepted. After saying yes, i truly opened myself up emotionally to him and grew to love him. I realized that i hadn't really given him a chance in those previous years. With the love grew the romantic feelings so by the time he asked me to marry him I was definitely attracted 😍😍💓💓. I thank God for him.

@@MrsKevOnStage Have you taken the StrengthsFinder assessment? It wouldn't surprise me if you were a maximizer. Knowing how to take situations to the next level. There may be some creativity within that but on the whole not Fine Arts creative. I'm a maximizer but certainly have an appreciation for creativity and it does rub off on me from time to time but not my dominant strength.

Liss, I see you and I hear you on the question pertaining to you being a creative. Even though they didn't truly give you a chance to respond, I understand why you say you are not a creative and I actually relate. We all have creative ideas or moments and have the ability to hone in on that creativity. The issue comes with being labeled as a creative. Being called a creative denotes that you embody creativity...like you eat, drink, sleep, breathe creativity. Maybe the churchy folks will understand it when I compare it to the prophet Jeremiah (Jeremiah 20:9). He said he couldn't hold back from speaking the word of God because it was like a fire shut up in his bones. Being labeled as a creative typically suggests a similar sentiment. It suggests that you would be completely miserable and almost die without your main focus being an outlet for your creativity. Once again I see you you and I hear you. MrsKevOnStage here is a small tip I used to practice when having "that moment" I used to listen to myself when speaking in a soft tone. It changes "that moment" quicker. Yes, even when I was in the company of others. Or I make sure I take a short me-time to recover from "that moment".

Melisa (spell check), thank you for such an honest answer regarding knowing if Kevin was "the one. " I've been around so many people who got married claiming God told them to marry their spouse. This brought so much doubt in my marriage (10 yrs now), cuz I ain't nothing from God. My experience was similar to yours in that we were both professing believers, ambitions, and there were no red flags. Cuz really scripture doesn't support this idea of "the one " or "soulmates" any way. We have so romanticized marriage, that for me it brought an uncertainty iin my marriage that could have been extremely damaging for our marriage. Thank you for speaking the truth and not sugar coating 👋🏾.
