The idea of Outriders 2 intrigues me. When Outriders was truly firing on all cylinders, it fulfilled a power fantasy that few games ever have. Problem is, the game could not sustain that. If People Can Fly can show they learned for that and actually create an endgame, I would be interested in Outriders 2.

I would totally support PCF's journey on self publishing. Outriders was a good game but it needed a lot of improvements. If PCF is able to polish and expand the game in meaningful ways, they could steal the light of all the new TPS that are slowly approaching, including, what's left from The Div franchise.

I wasn't a gamer until my work laptop came with a free copy of Outriders. I have never been so hooked to a video game and enthralled with its story. Luckily, I was one of the very few that rarely experienced any server issues. The game is difficult enough to reel you in, but it's not unfair. The gameplay is crisp and the visuals are amazing! I really hope they follow up with Outriders 2! Great video Mrs. Nesbitt!

Why would you pre-order? Right now, PCF should not be on anyone's trust list for pre-ordering, the problems the first game had and their unwillingness to listen to the players should absolutely eliminate them as a candidate for pre-ordering, and the whole concept of pre-ordering in general is just pure cancer and stupid anyway. So why would you do it?

I still play Outriders with the other half, Helping her level up a Technomancer, We still manage to find expedition games to, Don't know for how much longer because the grind is real but still enjoying it. One thing the first game has is the power fantasy and the mods and guns are fun to use. Maybe the 2nd one can be more of a live service game? Have weekly resets, new game modes etc etc.

Outriders 2 will have to show a change in PCF's philosophy of Grind=Content for me to even check it out. The first game was close, but the DLC felt like a total rip off. I really enjoy grindy games. There just needs to be aspirational content to make the grind worth it. The build crafting in Outriders was my favorite part, just let me grind to put together a great build, then give me something to test that build (that isn't the same content I just grinded).

I love Outriders! But, I can confirm that the Square Enix servers were the biggest problem for PCF and they were stuck with it. Its almost impossible to simply “change” your backend infrastructure. Like anything, your only as good as your foundation. Wrong choice? Probably but I’ll assume it was a pricing thing more than anything else. No doubt, if there really is an Outriders 2 (still digging), expect many of the foundational issues resolved and much better Outriders game with great visuals of UE5.

Loved this game. Gameplay and build crafting were absolutely addictive for me. I thought PCF showed a substantive desire in improving the game with the New Horizons update. I’d still be playing this game today if the end game content was a little more interesting. The lack of variety in Trials is what killed it for me. Even adding daily/weekly challenges would have been a simple enough addition to keep my interest in continued play. Hoping a next gen Outriders can really improve on what at its core is a really fun/addictive game. Lets go PCF!

I would be good with a new Outriders. I liked the first, and if they can clean up the endgame and the weird balancing issues at times I think they have a baseline formula they can follow and use for another project. They had a lot of good ideas, they were just implemented in a strange way at times. But the moment to moment gameplay could be really fun, they just were not able to sustain it and didn’t have enough activities to make it worth playing.

I originally had not interest in this game a friend talked me into buying it and on release weekend we slept very little and finished the story line, we then started a second char but with an update I was no able to play after the first two weeks. I have jumped in a few time to play my secondary and tried jumping in with my main but I get wasted in the runs or do half the damage of anyone else I'm running with.

Vision was never an issue for PCF. It was their inability to deliver or maintain. Would I love to see a good sequel? Absolutely! However, that entirely depends on the quality, something they've struggled with throughout the life of Outriders. I'll wait and see on anything they put out, like everything these days. I'm always happy to be surprised and they manage a gem by design or accident.

There are some details they will have implement before I will be interested, the "save a loadout" is a must have, that one option was and still is a major drawback for me, the other option was the developers introducing the Apocalypse Tiers gear after I have grinded my a$$ off that was a real turnoff for me, In which I just left the game alone and havent touched it since then. I will need to see if the team has learned the lessons b4 I put my money on the new product

To me that always made it seem like they intended it to be a live service at some point in the development timeline. Then during the final stages when they couldn't suddenly change the entire infrastructure of the game they decided not to. I'm not saying it should be a live service but with the cadence people seemed to want content for this game it would make sense for them to go that route.

One thing I hope they try because the game seems so similar to Diablo is a seasonal model like they do. Every 6 months or so there are changes to the meta and everyone starts from the beginning again to see you can get the best clears of endgame control

It’s still fun for that but I get bored quickly and do something else cuz of total lack of content again. WS was still a giant failure imo. Just nerfed everyone to start over but start over with WHAT to DO? That’s why I hope the sequel also adds more content and maybe a better story too. Honestly though…I’m not expecting it…I’m expecting eventually I’ll burn out on game and move to something new. Been trying too but most other looter shooters are even more dhsappointing because they don’t offer me the build diversity I got addicted too in outriders, especially as a more tank focused player whatever I’m doing. I enjoyed a lot about Outriders but I do wish they would take a long look at the gear balance and build viability in games like The Division 2. I should be able to put together synergistic elements around a unified theme and FREQUENTLY hit on a viable build. With Outriders it felt like the goal was to limp along until you had a perfect loadout and in Div 2 it genuinely feels like I can experiment and have fun with unusual builds in a way that feels creative and fun. Giving players only 1 or 2 real paths to endgame success per class is just boring and turns the fun of a loot based game into just a grindy roulette trying to get perfect versions of the one build that works.

I've wanted to play Outriders for a long while because the setting looks good, the abilities look cool, and the cosmetics are awesome, but the controversy created by all the changes made it clear that I should keep waiting. Now it's at the point where I can only hope to see it very cheap or on PS's monthly games, and if a sequel ever does come out I hope they do overhaul a lot of their design philosophy so as not to repeat their mistakes.

Outriders 2 would be cool. They have the core pretty solid but they just need to add a few things to make this a big franchise imo. A good endgame with updates and a live service. Open world/ larger areas. Way more variety in enemies. I had a great time with this game.

My biggest gripe with the first one was that the story was damn nice; but it felt so damn RUSHED and glossed over. There were so many missed opportunities to have a lot of great cutscenes and interactions, and it just fell flat. A lot of amazing characters that just kind of had a 'flash in the pan' moment, and then they either died, were killed off, or left in obscurity. If they want to sell a looter shooter, fine; but don't dangle an intriguing story and amazing characters, only to do it half-baked. The game could have easily had another 30+ hours of story content, character development, etc; and it all just felt shoe-horned and mushed over. Gameplay was ok; but it felt rather 'clunky' when you're running around, animations, attacks, etc just made it come to a crawl often during combat. Felt like I was running through molasses; sticky feet and somewhat rigid.

@@LtBuzzLitebeer Well, think about it. It's like when we were first thrown into the decimated world, surrounded by psychos and what felt like a Mad Max No Man's Land of trench warfare. Amazing and scary. Then we come across this bad-ass Altered who thinks nothing of us, tells us he's basically a God, and sets us off to be a shepherd because he has to go have a Highlander moment with another Altered. Every one of the 'big events' in the game for character building, story and lore felt like a 10 page comic that should have been a 30-40 page comic to really get fleshed out. Each chapter and new place we get to should have had way more nuance and details, but you're no more brought to new part of the world and then you're whisked away without ever feeling like you actually accomplished or learned anything new about the people there. "These are the people fighting perpetual trench warfare." "These are the people living in a jungle commune, oh but there's a big secret but don't worry it won't be long before all is revealed!" "This is a base on a mountain . . .it's cold." "This is a desert area . . .with some bunkers!" "SWAMPS!" It was all shoe-horned and glossed over on so many areas; that it all just felt like fodder. It's like if Scooby Doo and the Gang were introduced to a mystery to solve; and each time they were looking for clues it all just got glossed over and boom; ok, mystery KINDA solved, now GTFO and goto the 'insert game zone here".

Well, SQEX already publicly stated on their own website that they want Outriders to be a franchise and not just a one-of, so that's encouraging. I do however strongly feel like they need to clear the air with PCF and make a decision already - Live Service or not? It sure seemed like they wanted it to be originally, which would explain the online requirement. (Also fits with their scuzzy President's obsession with NFTs and blockchain ugh) But if it's not going to be a live service, then they gotta ditch the mandatory online component and just store everything locally like Borderlands does. At the very least dedicated servers with more stringent anti-cheat is a must do we don't end up in another nightmare scenario where random assholes can modify your files without you even knowing. Last point I'll make is PFC needs to be more open with us, Worldslayer is still a hot mess and I'll be genuinely surprised if we ever hear anything about it getting fixed going forward. Love this IP, it has loads of potential if SQEX is willing to give them the proper backing.

SE is notorious for making live service games that go bust... So if it goes live service I hope this is why PCF have been looking into self publishing. And hopefully SE doesnt have the rights to the IP.

They wouldn't let go of the Xenogears license for example, despite never touching it until just recently to do a collab for one of their gachas. It's why Xenosaga turned out the way I did, as the original creator wanted to continue the story but couldn't so he came up with something new entirely

I honestly really hope they make a outriders 2. Minus all the back that came with it it’s one of very few games I literally enjoyed playing and feeling like a beast but yet not to overpowered. We need something other then destiny I played years and years of destiny and I’m just burnt out on it anymore lol

I didn't mind grinding Outriders. After all, I have over 8,500+ hours in Division 2....not a typo. What killed me was the "you are now locked in a faux dungeon with the boss" battles that thwarted the open world. I would remove or trash that aspect altogether. Hated it. The story to me was fine for a video game. I almost always expect campy videogame stories. I'm more concerned about the play mechanics over ALL else. i.e. am I having fun playing THIS ⁉️ ~End

Id yes if they focus more on the world building and engame content. The gameplay,loot and build crafting are mistly locked in imo it just lacks that extra pull games like Remnant have.

Outriders 1 storyline is really deep and gets even deeper with world slayer. Hella a lot better then Destiny 2 on how they do raids. Got many people hooked on this game. Outriders 2 is definitely coming and we cannot wait for it.

Well over 1k hours in outriders. The game does more right then it gets wrong but like you said, they just need to listen to the player base. This game can easily be a stapled franchise in the looter shooter genre if they can pull it together.

I bought OutRiders on the Ps5 for $19.99. I enjoyed my time in the game. But overall the gane was a let down. no internet in playing it again or the DLC. Think OutRides 2 could be a good game. Hopefully they can improve on what made the 1st game good.
