Really nice video. I share the same burnout sentiment. I logged thousands of hours before the game left beta, and as the game slowly started getting bloated with more...stuff...it felt like the progression went from a slow linear ramp, taking days to weeks, to a steep exponential curve that plateaus in less than a day. The sense of mystery and exploration has long since left the game as well, starting once an "end" was introduced. Despite it being a physical place, it created a sense of finality in a game that wasn't MEANT to end, where the players thinks to themselves "well, what now?" It removed the feeling of investment I had in my worlds, especially when progression was expedited, risks were lowered, and I spent more time figuring out just what the heck they added and changed rather than playing the game. Made me feel like I had to avoid whole areas of the game to get the same experience I once did. Thankfully older versions are still playable, even modded.

Man. certainly an interesting one. I'm not your average minecraft player. Back during the 1.8/1.9 split, I stayed in the former group, and until today, have stuck playing 1.8.9. Still am playing it. I'm not knowledgeable on any new updates (besides 1.9) and haven't bothered. I've suffered the occasional burnout from time to time, due to me playing too much at one go, but I never really "hated" the java version I play on my PC. Maybe that's why MC still holds a special place in my heart - been playing for over a decade at this point. As of late, I've dived back into the game and been playing in short 1 hour sessions, and I believe this does help prevent burnout. Good video mate, love the analysis.

Neat video, I'm not sure this is why I don't care for minecraft anymore personally since I didnt play much of the console versions, but it must be a factor for a lot of people. Part of me thinks the real reason this is such a big issue on youtube specifically is because so many people talking about minecraft are now funneling their creative energy into trying to figure out why they don't like the game anymore instead of putting it into the game itself. I think the Vita would've been cooler if it had 2 screens

You can in fact connect and play via wifi in java, it isnt just mobile/console thing. Moreover you can use software that emulates local network to connect to your friends across the world as if you all were on the same wifi. U can even run the actual server on your pc, not just world, so it means you could have plugins, mods etc. Very useful thing if you can't do port forwarding and don't want to spend money on the external hosting

Over 200 hours I've built an entire deepslate fortress town on a hill, all starting from my house. And I'm still not done. I got a massive map room that needs to be filled out, a valley where I wanna make a pretty cherrywood mansion and I want to build sooo many watch towers around my world. And I can do all of this from home, on the train or at a friends place even. I'm not kidding when I tell people I only use my Steam Deck for Minecraft and Deep Rock Galactic.

I had so much fun and memories from that version and made so many new friends there I have up on today contact it was amazing! It was also very nice that the Wii U had a friendslist where u could see who is online and what game he is playing. oh there was so many more features that made the version so good. Minecraft was seemingly designed to be a mostly meta social experience back in 2010. The game didn't tell you anything, not even crafting recipes. You either figured those out by randomly placing stuff or you sought help from other people who had figured it out which is what most would do
@alex.g73175 ай бұрын

@@alex.g7317 Maybe, maybe not. It was a different time and a different game. People couldn't buy Minecraft in stores. If you knew about Minecraft and purchased it from Mojang's website, you were pretty much already inside that circle and knew how to get the info and how to connect with people, you likely learnt of the game from online videos to begin with I can see how this wouldn't really work for a kid with a DS or PSP who just unknowingly bought the game from a brick and mortar store and gets totally lost the first time it plays, but that's sort of the legacy carried on from the game's origins. But the developers clearly realized this and added the tutorial, at least

I loved the PSP and havent had the chance to try Vita, but I have played the LCE on X360 as a kid and I can certainly agree its a superior version of Minecraft I like the direction you went, never imagined somebody would go to this route of focusing on the device used, but I can certainly agree even with the simple fact of myself as a PC gamer coming back to playing some games on a controller, its a much more laid back experience even on a PC For people that dont have the PSVita but do have a smartphone (and maybe a special controller for it), there is a Java edition launcher for Android & iOS called PojavLauncher, and its well compatible with most mods; so a mod called Legacy4J bringing back the old aspects of LCE to the Java version should be playable!

I can't put the Deck in my pocket wherever but I always bring a backpack with me so it's no big deal. I originally installed all this on the GPD Win 2 wich is a pocketable clamshell but Java is laughably unoptimized so it wasn't as good as I hoped. And no, I have no Vita and I'm not gonna buy one and Minecraft off eBay for a single game, but this is great nonetheless

Decided to go back on a whim a few days ago and I'm having a great time, even if I'm not really going anywhere just having the entire game in my hands makes the experience so wonderful. I beat the ender dragon last night which would be the first time I've beaten her solo in the 12 years I've been playing mc lol.

I've been playing on my Steam Deck but it kinda makes me wish I had access to more efficient controls for building. For me that constant thought drags it down and sadly overshadows any of the supposed positives outlined in this video. There's a similar reason for why I don't play fps games on gamepad By the way, Java does have a LAN mode, which means you can play over the internet if you open ports or use VPNs. For the Vita, it must be using a server to connect you since without open ports this simply isn't a thing
