I remember that every time the song said “hey” or “ho” my dog would bark as a puppy. He passed away today and I wanted to listen to it as a memento. There isn’t a song out there that’s made me cry as much as this. Edit: Thank you everyone for your support! I was out of town when I got the news, but once I got home his brother helped me deal with the loss. We are both alright, but every now and then it's clear that both Popi (my dog) and I both miss our furry little buddy, which is okay. It's important to cherish the moments we have with our companions. Please refrain from arguing about religion, as everyone regardless of their beliefs mourns when someone they care about dies. The existence or nonexistence of an afterlife doesn't change the fact that we are on earth now, and we should enjoy the time we spend with others. Stay safe and stay hydrated!

I never listen to this song for "fun" but I woke up from a vivid dream of so many of my old friends singing in harmony. It felt like a feel good movie type of situation. I still think about each one of them despite the different life paths we're taking. It's sad to watch the good ol days pass by, but the problem is you never know when you're living "the good ol days". So, to whomever reads this: enjoy the little things :). I did and I still miss it. But I don't regret anything.

6 years ago I tried to take my own life. I was only 23 at the time, but I was doing a chef apprenticeship and was disillusioned because I had realized I made too many mistakes in my life to turn things around. Fast forward 6 years, I’d finished that apprenticeship but left the chef life behind, along with the alcoholism and daily self-inflicted injuries like casually slicing my fingers and rubbing salt in them just to keep myself awake. I can’t say I’m doing any better now, since all my friends are getting married and moving on with their lives, and for me, I’ve barely made it this far. But someday, I hope I can find out how it feels to be loved, and to be proud of myself. Not today, but someday. And if I can do it, you sure as heck can too.

This song has so many of my memories attached to it. Like me and my grandmother dancing to it in her kitchen. Me and her singing to it at my uncle’s wedding. All the times that she reminded me that the lyrics were something that she really believed was true about our family. My family swaying to it as it played at her funeral. Me and my mom having to step out of a restaurant because we were crying after it started playing. This song will make me cry every time I hear it but it also makes me think of the good times I had with her and that is why I think I keep coming back to listen to it.

Man, 2012 was such a year to be alive. I remember it being the Summer going into 8th grade year, my friends and I set up a small camp and a fire, all singing this song along with most of the pop songs on an acoustic guitar that came out that year. I really miss those days....

I heard this song a while ago and it reminded me of my love. I let him go in 2006. We came back together as buddies, then best friends. He was diagnosed with cancer several years ago and after a long fight passed away in October. I am grateful to have been able to be there with him at the end. I miss him so much. He will always be my sweetheart.

My mother has currently cancer and I'm the only son who takes care of her, go for a walk (with her wheelchair) with her and do things in the household with and for her. I know its a hard time, which will pass but when I see comments like yours I start appreciating more and more for what I have now and may not last forever. The Lumineers' *Ho Hey* is a magical piece of folk-pop that feels like a warm embrace, perfectly capturing the charm and simplicity of heartfelt music. From the first strum of the guitar, *Ho Hey* draws you in with an infectious melody and a stomp-and-clap rhythm that’s both lively and intimate. It’s impossible not to sing along as Wesley Schultz’s vocals fill the song with sincerity and longing, his voice striking that rare balance between vulnerability and strength. The lyrics, though simple, are profoundly relatable, speaking to themes of love, belonging, and searching for connection. The chorus-“I belong with you, you belong with me, you're my sweetheart”-is irresistibly catchy, tugging at heartstrings with its earnestness. There’s a beautiful, rustic quality to the track, like it was meant to be sung around a campfire or in a cozy living room, bringing people together in its sincerity. *Ho Hey* is one of those rare songs that feels timeless. It’s both a declaration and a celebration, reminding us of the joy and ache that come with real connection. With its uplifting spirit and raw simplicity, *Ho Hey* is a folk-pop gem that captures The Lumineers’ essence-genuine, heartfelt, and unforgettable. It’s a song that instantly makes you feel a little lighter, a little more hopeful, and undeniably connected.

I can't talk to anyone about it because I just can't bring myself to talk about it... comfortably. It's undescribable how I'm feeling right now, it just feels like, I need someone to save me. Save me from something I don't even know? I feel like there's nothing that could make me feel safe and sound but... this song helped me calm down. I can't talk to anyone because no one would listen... but, this song it's just incredible... because it feels like this song listened to me, instead of me, listening to this song... if that makes any sense. Anyways, thank you, the Lumineers, for being the one to help me when no one else could.
