16 inches is nice but it is also more leverage if you put your elbows on the table...ie; flip. I am more interested in storage over coffee and unless I plan to store rocks, this 16 inches could be a problem. $200 lift mechanism would buy me another table..which I don't want. I got the "coffee table" from Amazon and it is now $300 so not sure how much it was a year ago but i plan to exchange the most visible piece with cut to order STEAMED WALNUT WIDE PLANK (FACE GRAIN) COUNTERTOP. Just a thought to share with you.

Good video! I just purchased a similar lift table but seems like it's easy to go up but harder to put it back down, i noticed the left lift is a bit stiff. any tips on how to make it more smooth? WD-40?

Super helpful. Am planning to get this mechanism for a large square storage ottoman 1m x 1m. I want two sides to the top, one side of the top hinged or removable, the other side with a lift top. I need to explore how it will work when upholstered (where the 2 halves meet on top). May look better to make it rectangular with just the lift top *thinking. I have to order a mechanism so this helped.... Love me a vid with no mansplaining 🙏🏼😊
