for everyone wondering, yes, the first game did come out recently(ish) and and did not perform well because the 3 total developers did not expect it to be that popular. However, 1047 industries is now a full-blown game development center and split gate 2 will be an awesome sequel

as a person who played splitgate till the END of its time like there were only like 100 players playing. I was saddened that it died but thank god they made a sequel

i really wish the first game didn't die and i was right there with you, theres such a high fast pace skill ceiling, if they tried to keep content pushing people probably would've been more excited to explore the skill gap. At a certain point it stopped being fun for me, because nobody was really competing

Splitgate was the last game I was able to play with my cousins, after that, unfortunately we moved away, I stayed on the console, they were on the PC, and they simply disappeared... But seeing this game come back... brings me happiness

Shockdisk is sick brcause it's like the old EMP grenade from Splitgate 1 where it closes the portal you throw it at, so if you don't have Sabrask smokes you can close off people who are sniping at your Hot Zone or whatever or win 1v1s where you're portalling all over the place.

I really hope they keep the personality of each of the characters like they had in the trailer. It's one of the big reasons that team fortress two is still such a large success, and it would be amazing to have another game game with characters having as much personality as that.

This is a game that might really benefit from cross overs especially if they make them reasonably priced. Giving each faction character specific cross over skins could make the game more fun and goofy well also still being able to tell what each character is

12:58 Honestly... i think i can get some advices about that: 1- Changing the factions' healthbar colors when you shoot them. It may look stupid but trust me, it would be kinda important, and also make it so we change their colors on the options 2- This one is more functional i think, making skins that are pretty flashy and neat, but focus on the faction's specific color. It would make pretty beautiful skins but it would still mantain the balance 3- Create a blue faction... c'mon man I WANT BLUE TOO ;-;

I think one way to tackle the ability to differentiate between different classes while also allowing full customizability would be outline color. Every character has an outline and currently it's just red and blue, but instead enemy team classes could be red, orange, and yellow while your team is still blue or from green to purple. Another one would be to have an option to disable custom cosmetics from a client's view and return it to base models and colors. Also being able to choose the color for different enemy class outlines would be neat!

Ok I know you aren't a dev and all (Praying the devs read these comments), but I love to get FITTED AND DRIPPY. And I think an amazing way to pull that off in Splitgate 2 would be to keep the color coordination of the factions, while still letting us change the physical looks of our armor / weapons. It sounds weird at first, i know, but hear me out. Just add cosmetics, but we cannot change the colors of said cosmetics, the colors are dependent on the faction you play! The armor should be universal and interchangeable between factions, but the color scheme is hard stuck to each and every faction

The original splitgate was probably the most fun gaming experience I've had in years. I was one of the few people I knew who stuck around long after the massive hype died down and I was sad when I stopped being able to find games on my servers. I am beyond excited for this new game especially as I'm generally a fan of arena/movement shooters (and I don't mind hero shooters having played OW/R6/Val). Cannot wait :)))

Something I don't really see anyone talking about is the new art direction for the game with i think has so much more personality. the old gun and player skins were literally just halo models which makes sense given that SG 1 was just "halo with portals" but i love that now the guns look way more cyper-punky? love it

Because of you Macro I played Splitgate before it was cool, back when it had maybe 500 people concurent players on Steam and before it blew up, so nice to see the game evolving so much over time. I love the new art style, charachters and weapons look great and I can't wait to see how the weapons and portals feel. My biggest worry is about the amount of content this game will offer. It's a small and unexperienced dev team, the game will be awesome at launch, I'm sure, but after a month or two how will they keep players engaged? Call of Duty does it with grinding levels, weapon levels and skins, valorant and overwatch with ranked, fortnite with battle pass etc. My point is Splitgate 2 has to have a ton of content at launch and very strong roadmap to keep the players otherwise we will get bored after few weeks of playing this great game.

That's a valid concern with the cosmetics vs class readability. I'm hoping that the character cosmetics are also color coded like the default skins. Either by changing colors to match each faction or by selling cosmetics for each class individually.

what they could do with customisation/cosmetics is kind of have it like halo infinite and make each faction's base look their 'armour core', so to speak. then you could unlock and/or buy different armour pieces to use with that faction's core. so long as they keep to their distinctive colour palettes and design styles it could work.

same, i wanna love this sequel so bad but it really does look like it’s falling into the modern “class based shooter with meta centric gameplay” like literally every other popular fps game and like, i get it, i can respect it, but the lack of that with the classic stylings of older arena shooters was a MASSIVE part of what made splitgate so special for me personally and 2 just doesn’t have that magic to me :( still love the devs either way and i hope the best for the sequel but i don’t see it ever capturing me like splitgate did

I hate AR starts but with a class based system you can choose to always have BR or DMR starts. So while I don't like how they made it less of an arena shooter I appreciate that we're still getting the fast paced high mobility gameplay. TTK seems low though but maybe not when people get really good with the mobility.
