Thus video is completely awesome, it may be by far, one of the best conversion videos I've ever seen. I just purchased an ambulance 2weeks ago, and really no idea where to go from here. You have given me so many great ideas, and got my creative juices flowing. You don't know how much I really appreciate your hard work, and amazing personality. You are simply brilliant. Thank you

Nice craftsmanship and some good build ideas as I shop from my own ambulance! Here's an alternative suggestion for your bed support/shelf: hang a wide shelf to the "underside" of the bed using a piano hinge along its top edge. As you drop the bed, the shelf will pendulum down/out and become the support when it hits the floor. (It will need a little manual assistance or a helper spring to kick it vertical as it drops.) Bonus: actual stuff can be left on shelves!

That is a great idea! Hope you have good luck with your ambulance build when you get it going. Thanks for watching!

I've been watching the build episodes so far, and I have to ask: Why aren't all the electronics accessible from the inside?

Why can't the longer extension nipples with the flanges just stay place as coat hangers and or supports for a hanging mesh hammock for additional storage? Wouldn't be as as clean looking but maybe an option. No one would be back there if the vehicle is in motion since it's not in service as an Ambo, so no worries about being impaled on the bed supports. Whatcha think guys? I'm also wondering with such a sophisticated Electrical System(Victron is top of the line,imo) , why not be Propane free and use an Induction cooktop? I realize the on demand Propane water heater is in there too, but I think I'm gonna go for a hydronic diesel heater on my future build. Some Tunnels,etc prohibit propane and I believe Induction and a diesel ESPAR/cheaper Chinese diesel heater or Truma Combi diesel heater is a safer alternative. Maybe for the 4x4 Doc Holliday Ambo? Good Luck guys. Phil

What if you urinate in the shower??
@HighlyPaidHomeRepair3 жыл бұрын
Well, it would be wise not to do that if possible. If you accidentally did, it’s easy just to change the water. The filters clean the water down to 1 micron with a UV light soon to be added, so even if you did pee it would be fine. The water is just for showering and not drinking, etc, so it’s a clean system that lots of people use to have practically unlimited showers etc.

How much all the alterations cost?
@HighlyPaidHomeRepair3 жыл бұрын
That’s a tricky question. First one has to consider the total cost of just the vehicle. Then the cost of parts and materials, which would be over 30k+ at this point. Now, the hard part is the total man hours to complete the conversion. I have no clue what that would come out to at this point. William will have an idea on how to answer your question when he is done. Thousands of man hours at $30/hour is the reason these sell in the 40-80k range. Lots of work and material cost.
