Come along with us as we explore the breathtaking beauty of the Cotswolds and some of the most charming English villages we've ever seen! The Cotswolds is a region known for its picturesque English villages and rolling hills. On our three-day adventure, we explore the rich history, indulge in local cuisine, and find unique and interesting places to see in the Cotswolds. From the charming village of Painswick, known as the "queen of the Cotswolds," to the idyllic Arlington Row in Bibury, often considered the prettiest village in the Cotswolds, to the quaint streets of Chipping Camden and Castle Combe. Be grateful you don't have to spend a couple grand and sit in a plane for 6000 mi. to get there. They even lucked out with the weather, it was raining when I was in Chipping Campden.

We live in Scotland. My daughter and her husband and two little boys are down in Cornwall right now on holiday. They stopped off in the Cotswolds for a couple of days on their way down. We may be a small country but there really are so many beautiful places to visit in the UK. Your enthusiasm and pleasure for them is infectious and so genuine.

Much as an English patriot that i am,Scotland has the most dramatic scenery I’ve ever seen,and I’ve lived and worked all over the planet. Londoner,now in beautiful,magical mystical Cornwall. Of all the countries Ive been to,and they ALL have beauty within them,I wouldn’t live anywhere else than England.

I always drive through the Cotswolds when I travel up from Dorset to see family in Birmingham, so many beautiful towns and villages, I always stop at one of them for a spot of lunch, takes me an hour longer than driving up the motorways but it beats the services at Chieveley.

Thank you for this great informative video of The beautiful Cotswolds, i enjoyed it!. Some people say the villages are a tourist attraction and can get busy, well most of the lovely towns, villages and cities in England are tourist attractions now a days, inc the Lake District, the coast of Cornwall, Clovelly in Devon and a lot of coastal areas in Devon, Cheddar Gorge, some Dorset villages and the Jurassic coast, The Norfolk Broads, Bath, Liverpool, London etc and the Cotswold villages are no exception. I would move to the Cotswolds in a heartbeat! and be proud to live there, they are such beautifully maintained villages. Glad you both enjoyed your stay there.

Aww the amazing cotswolds, so glad you went and experienced the villages and towns there breathtaking is correct, the food looked really good too. As well as the Lake District that you still need to see, come to Norfolk & Suffolk and rent a house right on the Norfolk Broads and hire a boat on the water ways. See Lavenham the Medieval village in Suffolk I really enjoyed this video, my favourite so far.

Also if you should ever return to Bourton on the water visit the old perfumery in the village where they sell lovely perfumes made from Cotswold flowers, some named after Shakespeare Characters, in fact they also have an online shop where you can buy these perfumes.

@tonym480

Yew trees are a quite common thing in English country church yards. The reason being that back in the middle ages Yew wood was used to make Longbows, the key to many English victories in Europe in those times. There is also a link back to the Druids in pre Christian times when the Yew was a sacred tree.

I really enjoy visiting the Cotswolds and am glad you enjoyed it too. Bourton on the water is where I have been the most as I usually went by coach from where I live now in the West Midlands in Telford Shropshire. A lot of history here also in the surrounding areas including the nearby Roman City of Wroxeter between Telford and Shrewsbury just off the A5. Definitely worth a visit if in this area. Also near Telford is Ironbridge which also is very historic because of the industrial revolution. Ironbridge is a world heritage site popular with many Americans during the summer months because of the museums nearby. Much Wenlock is also a great town to visit not far from Telford and the pubs there provide excellent food and all are dog friendly.
