Niffin Alice - I Do Not Want This

[[ Super long rant incoming.]] I feel like I've already made this comment. Maybe in my old channel.. so I'll do it again now. This is concerning this Niffin Alice music video in case people misunderstood the meaning behind it. The song title "I Do Not Want This" can be used and interpreted in many different ways. It seems a few people think that this video is contradicting itself because Alice really wanted to become a Niffin. In the books, she really wanted that. The fight against The Beast happened differently (much more badass) and Alice was performing a spell that no one in the group knew nor was it explained by the author. It's like she was saving that spell for last in a way. And my interpretation of the entire fight was how Alice was still angry at Quentin for cheating on her. With the remarks she makes to Martin "you're just a scared little boy" and such-- and the fact that she glances at Quentin every now and then shows me that she was taking shots at him. And right before she does that powerful spell Alice says "Well I'm sorry" out loud, looking at Quentin. Then she was fascinated as her body began to burn. It makes sense in a way for Book Alice to want to Niffin out considering she was much more shy and always a yes-person, never free to be herself as she says in the last book and more. Alice did not like the way she was. Now in the show; just like in the first book, Quentin and Alice kissed and held hands and it seemed they were on the brink of restoring their relationship again after the cheating. Alice's Niffin'ing out was more of a mistake. The Rhinemann Ultra was a spell she was tasked with, not something she already knew like in the books. In the end Alice died saving her friends. Yes, she was arrogant with her spellcasting. Alice thought she was strong enough to cast the Rhinemann without the power bracelet which was her mistake. "It's okay, I got this Quentin" an example of Alice being so sure of herself. If Alice wanted to Niffin out on purpose then she would've ignored his calls. There would be no fear when she removed her bracelet. Instead what we see is frustration and her growing more anxious. The pain of the bracelet burning her wrist was getting to her. So imagine-- wanting to actually Niffin out and burn your entire body to a crisp, right up to the nerves but you can't handle some burning sensation on your arm? I don't buy it. So once she botched the Rhinemann you could already see in her face and voice what a horrible mistake she's made. Scared. As Alice was turning into a Niffin the books, she also screamed in a very high pitch tone. Obviously we can't hear words but to me they seemed differently. Book Alice was intrigued, Show Alice was in regret. *That is the first instance* I used to influence "I Do Not Want This." People also bring up how Alice literally says "I did it on purpose." And my reply is, was that actually the real Alice saying that? Because becoming a Niffin means losing your shade (unable to differentiate wrong from right, very callous) and then becoming an actual raging demon of magic fire who's able to destroy plenty of things even Gods. To me what she said was a comeback. It was Niffin Alice intimidating The Beast by correcting why she was screaming upon burning, like it was all apart of her plan. Calculated. It was something Niffin Alice said to sound badass in my opinion. Also, you can't trust a shadeless person for it is not the real them. So imagine believing a Niffin at that. While she is a Niffin, Quentin accidentally seals her in his back by the use of his cacodemon, thus trapping her there. *Second instance* of "I Do Not Want This." She would rather be free of course with all the things she's capable of doing but is restraint to a human who will practically die from containing her. The real Alice is brought back to life although with a new physical body. Her mind and memories have remained the same. Alice is bitter at Quentin for returning without her consent. *Third instance* of "I Do Not Want This." Why? She lost all the knowledge she acquired as a Niffin. Imagine having the intellect of 1,000 Einsteins and most of that information dissipating in an instance, forever. You lost everything. Even though she became a malevolent spirit, what she saw and knew was still amazing. Alice as a Niffin understood how the universe and magic itself works. That is HUGE. So I get why she was angry at Quentin. Magic is then taken from the world. Friar Joseph appears and informs Alice that the lamprey, one of many magical creatures she killed and tortured as a Niffin, is after her. *Fourth instance* of "I Do Not Want This." In the books, Alice cried when she remembered killing a hunter as a Niffin. In the show we don't see that emotion although we know she's suppressing those flashbacks. She has to live with that for the rest of her life and recover from it. *Fifth instance* of "I Did Not Want This," past-tense. Alice also has to figure out who she is again which is extremely difficult. And finally, Alice is forced to shock her father, knowing his weak heart condition so she could expel the lamprey out of his body. The lamprey was going to kill him but Alice herself inadvertently ends up killing Daniel Quinn. *Sixth instance* of "I Do Not Want This." As the Old Alice, Niffin Alice and our New Alice-- there have been many moments she did not want in general. Remember, her whole purpose for attending Brakebills was to find out what happened to her brother Charlie, nothing more. She was dragged into everything else once Quentin appeared. And out of everyone in the show, no one has had it worse then Alice Quinn. She's always been handed misery. Now expanding on my own decision to use this song; I love Nine Inch Nails. Trent Reznor's music is just so different. Different sounds and feelings he can inflict. Trent is a God when it comes to making dark and depressing music. His sound is so raw which is what I wanted for a Niffin. And please search up the lyrics. It describes Alice as both a Human and Niffin. So all this is why I chose.

actually Alice wanted this xD When she turned into Niffin she developed superior god complex and didn't care about anyone, unless it pleased her. Even when she was back being human she missed being Niffin and wanted it back
