Ranting About The FGO Community & Rolling the NA *EXCLUSIVE* GSSR | FGO Start Dash Guaranteed Summon

All crying jokes aside, let me just stress that it is 100% okay to be critical & 100% fine to have negative opinions about FGO, Aniplex, Lasengle, & so on. I have my fair share of criticisms & disappointments as much as anyone else -- in regards to both NA & JP. However, I also believe it is equally if not more so important to take EVERYTHING into context rather than taking one thing & building unrealistic expectations & misguided opinions based on that one thing. I truly believe that many fans were disappointed with the NA team & their FGO Fes stream largely because said fans failed or neglected to properly take every single thing into account -- the stream guests, the stream description, the fact the stream was not advertised in-game or on the FGO official news page, the lack of Kanou Yoshiki, etc. Many only hopped on the fact it was an unprecedented stream since it took place in FGO Fes & during JP's 8th Anniversary. The fact it was unprecedented was definitely interesting, but again, when taking everything else into account, it was clear to me that nothing crazy was going to be announced. Additionally, I also think content creators & social media influencers are also to blame. Not everyone, but there were definitely some individuals who hyped up the FGO NA stream as if it was going to be game changing, which of course caused many fans to adopt said expectations. Let me also stress, no shade or hate to said people. I'm just pointing out possible factors. If you disagree with me, then fine. If you're offended by me, then it is what it is. And if it makes me a shill, bootlicker, or kiss ass for "defending" the NA team & saying we as a community need to take accountability, then I'll wear those titles as badges of honor. I agree with you here. But sadly, from what I've observed, current gacha games communities (or at least those who are loud) are like that. They always set their expectation on a certain level, and when the dev decided to do something else, they rant like it's becoming the worst game in the world. I don't know why, but it used to be a lot more chill in the past. And again, I'm not only talking about FGO community here. If I can call some names, Arknights community also like that. Azurlane and Blue Archive community is mostly chill, but lately, I've seen the sign where they starting to change into what I'm talking about now. I wonder what leads the change. Personally, I'm more on the chill type of player. If I don't like the direction where the game is going, then I will quit. But I won't rant that much as it's a free game. And as a F2P, I lost nothing on it. It might be different if I had to pay to play it just like console games for example. I might rant a bit if the game that I bought sucks lol. The ONLY time when I rant so hard on a gacha game publisher was when it's about a sudden unjust end of service. I'm looking at you, Crunchyroll...

I'm pretty chill about shit as well, but of course, within reason. There is a time & place to go off & rant/critique, I just don't think in this particular case that it was necessary or justified.

Honestly the problem isn't the gssr I wanted this years ago so new players who are going to whale can get someone to start on top of the free ssr giving them a good account. However I would have rather wanted the grail casting early at least and rainbow chains. They are good features and make wanting to play the game more fun.

I mean, I agree that at some point (much more improbable now) that a 100% free Limited SSR ticket SHOULD be implemented, but at the same time, Limiteds are meant to be & treated as rare/special. To hand a Limited SSR for free for new players cheapens them imo. That & new players already get A LOT of free stuff, & I would not call spending $12 whaling. If spending that little is considered whaling, then I guess I'm a whale in NA since I exclusively only spend the bare minimum on GSSR's, which I think is a big exaggeration. Such QoL's will come when they come. But we have gotten things early in the past, so it is not out of the realm of possibility that we will get those stuff sooner rather than later. Obviously, people want them now, myself included, but it is what is. Gotta be patient, they are inevitable updates. It's not like they will NEVER come.

@@TheMainCharacterJack honestly I don't agree with new players not having something easier which we got the free ssr for everyone. That mindset destorys communities where when a game starts off horrible like fgo that people usually want new players to have a bad time as some sort of gate keeping. Most leave after Camelot as the game never really fixed it's early game due to that power creep. The gssr isn't much of a cost but it's way better than Jp going to 30 dollars again for the build a gssr as that is just bad as it's not a guenteed either and all together is 45 for 2 units at worst. Na got a better wrap yes but the pool should have been bigger or in different gssr like part 1 eor and eventually part 2 to get someone from each part of the story Lb 6 glad they gave us early mats in events which was a good idea as lb 6 really didn't plan out the gameplay on Jp well having farming be like 2 months later while na my account was able to max the lb 6 units from just the mats I got before my phone ran out of space. The game has a strange way of what it adds or doesn't. Those main page quests I'm fine leaving those but non gameplay stuff could be done as we got a few things from Jp so soon. Wouldn't give us an edge to Jp just let na players play the updated fun as we all know when Jo eventually ends na will go soon after so it's best to keep up to date whenever they can.

Idk if the game necessarily starts horrible. As a year 1 player, THAT was a horrible experience. If anything, I'd argue that new players today are spoiled, which in some respects is a good thing. The fact that they're still adding new options & things for new players is overall a good thing. Maybe it's not perfect, sure, but I wouldn't go as far as saying it's horrible. But again, that's me, who's experienced first-hand what a horrible start truly is in hindsight. The LB6 materials being given months in advance was definitely an underappreciated thing the devs didn't need to do. I hope going forward, they keep that going for NA players as well as other early implementations. Definitely not down for a speed up. Many have this romanticized & idealistic view on a server speed up, but they don't understand how bad of an experience it would actually be. As a Magia Record player, I'd HATE a speed up in any capacity.

We see how that went with some of the servers and honestly at that point just extend the events for months which honestly I can see working for them but I'm fine with how fgo na is doing things moving some things around as anny being early makes for more fun gameplay like Oberon Nero fest and skadi summer farms as na can do that and Jp never did Honestly still wish Jp could give it's early game some new stuff as players hit a wall who aren't connected to fate as most fans will justify anything if they are as deep as fate fans. Those who aren't will drop and we have seen quite a few channels move communities or drop playing at the repetitive nature of fgo. I'd rather see fgo add a post battle boss like fuyuki and eor to give that challenge a player can test their skills on but I doubt they'll ever even look at part 1 again if it's not a retroactive plot reverse engineering as part 2 had as they only see ahead rather than behind for gameplay. Those low stars with old animations seems strange but you can feel how Sakura wars bombing made things change when dw got moved for aniplex

@ivanbluecool Agreed, especially the retroactive battles/bosses. Gives players something to play around with for fun. Or add a "hard mode" of the story, where we can replay ALL of the story quests/chapters, cutscenes and everything, but everything is scaled to Lostbelt-level difficulty. So HP breaks, new gimmicks, etc. Along with additional rewards for completion, I think that would add a lot of replay value.

Was going for Scat, Shiki, NP2 Raikou, NP3 Toki, or NP3 Shuten but I got Ishtar (bang on average, middle of the road result, so I'm neither happy nor sad, which I'd say is a net positive).

I specifically wanted Tamamo Lancer since she was one of my original wants since I started and specifically didn't want a Cleo since I have her np 2 and don't really like her to begin with. I immediately got a gold assassin and was so scared but it ended up as a Chiyome and I got Tamamo Lancer. Got a bit of a scare but definitely got really lucky and am happy I rolled.
