That has to be terrible fighting that fire all the way up on the 13th floor! I was wondering, if the fire was really intense stuck in the chute, would it be possible for the metal of the chute itself melt??? That is one heck of a tall building. yes to get the water out of them, much easier doing 50 ft at a time. Then reconnect them to load the hosebed.

What is it with these firefighters? Standing in a huge cloud of smoke not using their BAs? They have a huge incidence of cancer but they act like it won't affect them because they are FDNY. It's arrogance and foolishness. Every firefighter is vulnerable!

Although I defend the FDNY every chance I get, I have to agree with you on this one. I'm always so concerned for them. They need to remember- to never forget, all their brothers who are dying from 9/11 and cancer related illnesses...
