I want to see the "re-emergent" line out of pentex r&d. Prototypes of extinct genetic lines, resurrected by modern usurpation of genetic material in eggs. Dire wolf's were genetically distinct from lupus, that would be an interesting one. A were giant sloth would be facsinating, or my personal favorite concept, Were thylacoleo! I'd love to run a campaign wherein a down under subsidiary attempts to coopt the hopes of changing breeds, making it seem as tho a few Tasmanian tigers, or were kangaroo, were still around. I'd use the modern, to this day, legends of the folk who belong to that land, that the big one, the marsupial lion, is still out there, and that tales of drop bears are not tales of rabid kolas, by a minimum of 100 lbs, and around 900 pps" bite force. A were thylacoleo would be massive, incredibly difficult to grapple, for the strong tail, massive thumb claws, bite, and strength, and near impossible to escape. Much like a full grown male lion needn't fear a hyena, or a jackle, but 10 on 1 changes things, a thyleo would be a match for anything except a full grown salty, or a whole pack of dingo, but it's solitary nature means those factors are very pertinent. Dingo could be an interesting plot too. Pentex believes then to be invasive mercenaries, expendable, and, eventually, a problem to solve, but, a useful enemy of my enemy, for now. In reality, the dingo have naturalized, and are diffinativly distinct as a species, belong to that land, and though few of the changing outside Oceania would trust, or understand, a few of the elders there know the truth, the dingo feeding them constant Intel, and some of their most veteran warriors, often ones thought dead to the company, act as special detachments, used in the quietest, and deadliest, of wars. The few dingo found out after this, loyal beyond knowing, were thought rabid, or vengeful for the disregard they were shown, the truth of their role, still secret

This is a really good suggestion! It has been in the back of my mind for a while now, that pentex could go a long way with genetic research. Werewolf 4th edition (20th anniversary edition) is great but also a little dated. Bringing it to the modern age wouldn't be difficult but knowing what to focus on would be a bit of a challenge.

Currently, I’m running a Werewolf chronicle that takes place in Bidar, Karnataka, India. The context for this chronicle is that the Apis, during the tail end of the War of Rage, were hightailing it away from where they thought the Garou were…only to end up with a tiny family line of Kinfolk in India that has died out to a single survivor-an actual Apis. The Beast Courts, remembering the Apis as matchmakers from their own oral traditions as well as seeing an opportunity to bolster their own forces against Western Garou, have made a point to keep this surviving Apis alive and trying to get her full of calves as quick & often as they can. Terribly messed up, nothing unusual for the Fera. Unbeknownst to the Hengeyokai of India, however, who have been heavily influenced by human reverence for cattle thanks to absorption through osmosis…have pushed the poor girl into high stress and rebellion. To such a degree that Pentex, who have finally found a way to add Indian Rhino to the Kerasi genome…is starting to get through to her, as the Indian Kerasi are the ones she’s being exposed to after they’ve exhausted themselves from missions-creating the illusion of entirely docile, horned puppy dogs like you might see from KZbin clips of rhinos being cute at the zoo. The Indian Beast Courts are struggling because of this.

I am trying to write a dark fantasy RPG book of my own. And one of the settings is a empire based on Africa, with a lot of races and political tension. A few of the races I was able to come up with: giraffe-like centaurs, werehyenas, werelions, a centaur zebra and even a camel. (I swear it´s not as silly as it souds.) Anyways, dude thank you for the videos, I love your channel and you are one of my favorite youtubers.

if you think a werecamel is stupid in concept. just remember that White Wolf World of Darkness had a were creature for EVERY SINGLE CREATURE ON THE PLANET at one point before they died off. So at some point you had a fucking Wereplatypus. I'd assume this creature was killed just due to it being a confusion to all the species including the Rokea.

I... really don't like them being so dumb, it defeats the whole purpose. Besides, the changing breeds are aggresive enough towards each other without being tainted, what is the point of them not seeming tainted if they will get outsmarted and killed anyway?

I agree with you, I feel like they would have been better served as an official changing breed rather than a stereo type. Keep in mind the Kerasi, in terms of my video, are a breed created by pentex and they were mildly successful as lab creations. I would probably create my own version of the wererhino's as a gian breed, capable of much more then the mockery creation.

but if they are a artificially made changing breed, how come the trues changings can't tell it? unless Gaia has created wererhinos, surely, the other breeds would know that they are not a thing?

Most werecreatures aren't aware of all the other werecreatures. The War of Rage being so far in the past, what Changing Breeds there were and which breeds have survived is a mystery even to an individual who's made the effort to study, research, and investigate.

@@efaristi9737 Your questions gave me an opportunity to think some so I'm going a rather long-form here. Mostly, I'm saying that this is a way the fiction can work, but it can also work with better information sharing. So, the following is just some thoughts on how to make it easier for wererhinos to trick the actual Changing Breeds. There's a good "the spirits" based argument there. But I can chock that up to the spirits being enigmatic and keeping some secrets. Plus, an individual spirit might not know everything. Your average, say, gaffling Hyena spirit might know about the Ajaba, but not know whether or not Rhinos have a Changing Breed. And, if you were Gaia, wouldn't you make a Rhino CB? (Heck, were-ostriches would be great warriors.) But, even within an organized society, such as the Garou Nation or the Ahadi (the African multi-CB society) and the Beast Courts (the Asian multi-CB society), they're not homogenous. For reasons including maintaining the veil, there's not a huge amount of direct communication between relatively isolated communities. So, lore such as which animals do and don't have CBs can be relatively isolated. (In game terms, you have to have the relevant Lore in your Knowledges.) Plus, Africa had its own inter Changing Breed war, this time by Black Fang the Simba. So, it's reasonable to see Changing Breeds hiding from each other. Some Changing Breeds might prefer that others see them as extinct or even mythological. This, by the way, is all me putting work into maintaining this as a potential way of misleading and tricking Player Characters. So, you can run a game with better information sharing and that would be every bit as valid.

@@WingedWyrm I guess it made more sense that minor spirits don't know about all the changing breeds. I mean, not warning the Fera about the threat of the artificials breeds sounds like a betrayal to their duty toward Gaia, considering they serve the wyrm and want to destroy the world. I thought the war with Black Fang was over? thanks^^

@@efaristi9737 Spirits are primarily their own things. Bear is tending, well, bears. Werebears have a deeper connection, but they have distinct duties that Bear, through smaller spirits, deal with. And, wars have lasting consequences. Thank *you*
