Hell YEAH BROTHER!! This is the video I have been waiting for years! Followed all your upgrades and repairs, and this was the pay day! She is flying! This trans upgrade, and your boost valve fix really were key. Incredible 1/8th mile times and mph. Plus you are doing this at 3,000 ft DA! Congratulations and this was a HUGE success!!

You've seen it all! I'm definitely stoked about it, I was looking back and this is actually the quickest the car has ever gone, previous owners PB was a 6.97@ 108, extra MPH is the drag radial he ran versus the bias ply, pretty cool!

Congrats on getting into the 6’s man, that’s awesome. Are you running the stock serpentine belt system? I hear there’s an aftermarket setup that is suppose to help us 07-09 guys with frying our alternators.

Yes, I have a PA performance alternator with a under drive pulley that is larger and supposed to help. Apparently mechman makes the end all be all that doesn't have issues. I've sent this PA one back 3 times for service in my ownership

Are the aftermarket cams why you can pull past 6k RPM? I know the tune allows for it - but in my 07 with stock cams after 6k it falls flat... I appreciate that you've kept your 07 for so long. I plan on keeping mine too. Mine is mostly stock still - just 2.5 pulley, intake, exhaust, shifter. And a 160 degree thermostat is my poor-man's heat soak solution for now.
@BC084 ай бұрын
The stock cams will pull just fine above 6K if the blower will keep moving air up there
@na4valve4 ай бұрын
It falls flat because of the m122. You don’t need cams to pull the SLB to 7k.

Hey man, thanks for watching. So yes, I did go with aftermarket cams, but even prior it made power past 6k, 6400-6500 is where I shift at, BJ suggested not going past that because the rod bolts can stretch as higher RPM allegedly. It works for me. For heat soak, yeah. I'm going to try out the j2fab brick mod and bigger pump soon here, in the meantime the ice works well enough at the drag strip

@@AllThingsBoost The 13/14 GT500s used the exact same connecting rod/rod bolts (slightly different small end machining *only*) with a heavier piston assembly - and they came with a 60K warranty with a 7K redline.

I've heard that as well. I'm genuinely curious how much is made up versus legit facts around that topic. I'm going off what my tuner told me, but I agree with you, I think the RPM scare is over exaggerated.

You got a link to those taillights? I have a 07gt500 and like the look of those.

Congrats on progress. Car is still super fat.

Agreed, not too bad, both lund, vmp, and Bj all run mod motors about .8 lambda, which is about 11.0 AFR, BJ likes it a touch leaner at 11.4, but I was seeing like 10.8-10.6 on that 2nd pass, which is very fat and it needs to be touched up.

@@AllThingsBoost Most of my comobs liked 11.8-12.0 AFR. Not every car will be the same but my guess is your car will not like anything via plug readings under 11.5 AFR. Your car with some MS109 or similar fuel and the AFR/timing fixed will probably run well into the 10s at close to 140.
