Distillery Retail: $220 Hotel: ~$150/night for 1-2 nights Fuel or Flight: ~$50-300+ 1-2 Days Off/Away: ???-???? So total for the bottle at “retail” is realistically ~$420-670+ and that’s not including time away from home, family, off work, etc. OR it gets dropped off at my doorstep for $400? I know which one I’m going with. I get people railing against secondary, but there are instances where it’s a huge benefit. This is one of those.

I've had a few pours of Four Roses over the years and I've never liked them until I tried the 2022 LE. Based on your review I think I'd be better off finding the 2023 LE. Thanks Subscribed

Just had this side by side vs the 2022 and 2023 LE... for my palate the 2023 was heads and shoulders above the other two SIMPLY for the finish, it felt like it lasted forever... Off the nose I would say they are all exceptional, and on the palate I would say the same, but the finish is where they stood apart for ME. The 2023 just lasted forever. Man I wish I had a back up but so thankfully to have the bottle I have lol

Unlike other distillers that put out a variety of special high priced releases, Four Roses just has one each year. It’s a blend of their regular recipes at different ages. I respect this approach - the master distiller is saying he is taking the best of their best and putting them together using his skills to deliver this bottle one time each year. I’ve got 10 bottles of their single barrel, barrel strength picks covering 6 of the recipes. The oldest is 11 years, so I’m not likely to home blend anything approaching the LE. I’d say if you love bourbon and have enjoyed Four Roses it’s worth dropping $350 or $400 once to own an LE. I’ve got the 2022.

I havent missed a 4R SmBLE going back to 2015. I'll still pick one of these up but that "cinnamon red hot" note is not something that I like in bourbon.

SRP for this is way above my ability, and desire, to pay. So never mind secondary market(!). I'll have to file this one under "U" for "Unattainable". Maybe I'll have a chance to taste it somewhere... As far as the comments about people, "complaining" about the price. It's not "complaining". It's just that some of us have other priorities, and just can't spend THAT much for a bottle of whiskey. I've got $60-$80 bottles that would probably beat this in a blind. So, to those who have no issue paying a $220.00 SPR or secondary... enjoy!

Thanks for letting us know what you paid. When you're in the thick of it, it's easy to forget that most of us don't have the time or energy to camp outside Giant Eagle at 4am, so it's secondary or nothing.

Was able to get 2022 (2x) and 2023 for under 200 euros here in Germany. If the 2024 LE comes for 220...maybeeee☺️. Resale 450 $ in us, no thank you. 2022 and 2023 are great, I'm wondering about the bottlenumbers. Here in Europe the bottles have a number of ca.5000 every year. US 15000...Is it the same batch? The alcohol notification is equal. However great Bourbon. One of the best, maybe the best Bourbon you find in Europe

everyone is complaining about the price but look at all these new releases that are pretty basic but "unique" and they are going for 120-190... i can't blame 4 roses for wanting to get some money back especially knowing this will go on secondary markets. I'm just so over these exclusive releases. Everything is "special" but it's really not.

I’m def a Roses fan, but doesn’t sound like this years 2024 release is worth that much more than a lot of SBBS picks that I have bunkered. I honestly wasn’t too impressed with last years 135th as an LE. For now I’m sticking with the bunker.

I agree that this is the most consistent LE year to year. OFBB is probably the least consistent. I can’t think of a single release that was “meh.”

How can something be considered “underrated” when it’s not able to be found for anything less than double MSRP? Sounds pretty highly rated to me

@@jameslane9267 I don't think they are talked about enough. Pricing is pricing. If anything says limited edition on it it gets jacked up. But birthday bourbon, btac and other releases get most of the fanfare.

"Still under rated"? Never seen it on a shelf, doubles & triples on the secondary, and ive only had a shot at one in a raffle. I think its appropriately rated.

I am surprised you have to pay secondary on any bottle. I assumed with being as popular of a channel that you have you would get some of these limited bottles mailed to you straight from the distillery for reviewing.

I have an OESV store pick from total wine and while it tastes great and doesnt drink hot, the nose on it, is awful. Im not sure how four roses gets that stank note on there but geez it fucking stinks.
