In my state of Ohio i work for the Marriott and we had to let go all of our workers accept 9, not because the government closed businesses, but because companies and people are not traveling. People need help, they're slipping through the cracks, they're dying not just from the virus but from untreated medical conditions, malnutrition, unfulfilled prescriptions, and suicide. but sure, let's confirm some more judges instead of helping people.

I live with my aging mother in a tiny apartment in the neighborhood we both were born and raised. Now rent prices have gotten so ridiculous that I struggle to keep are head above water. Where I live they had an eviction ban and now alot of people have lost their houses because tenants refused to pay rent and could not be evicted. The Tennant's just ran up all the bills. I’m also a former Disneyland Cast member from CA and also just got laid off, the most saddest part about this is that most CM’s blame our Governor for the layoffs when in reality I personally thank him, and I blame Orange County which is filled with Trumpublicans who can’t even wear a mask right now, so many CMS in downtown Disney have to go after no maskers. And I blame our company’s CEO Bob Iger and Bob Chapek & all executives all basically went back to their pre Covid19 salaries in August yet they had the audacity to blame Newsome. Disneyland has had numerous measles outbreaks in the past & they refused to notify CM’s or anything. Also when the pandemic hit, other CM’s and I wore masks in early March and our managers told us we couldn’t wear them. That’s was 3 months when we already knew about the virus and two months of it being in the US. The amount of money the Walt Disney company makes in general is ridiculous and the fact that theme park workers in general are underpaid (honestly I’ve seen roaches in our bathrooms backstage & our break rooms are crap, restrooms get cleaned like once a day) and that’s during regular hours. Is RIDICULOUS, plus the fact that the company uses “Show” as a way to prevent CMs from showing the bad conditions backstage is horrible. The parks are open 365 days out of the year. The company takes advantage of the CM’s who genuinely work here not because of the money, but because we love Walt Disney & want to make magic for guests. But the company has honestly been turning into something so bad that the executives are literally cutting pay & making a lot of cuts with the CM’s and backstage yet expect us to perform the same with higher stress levels. Honestly this pandemic is 100% Donald Trump’s fault and it revealed a lot about the companies priorities which is profits over their people. It’s honestly sickening. ALSO DISNEYLAND ISNT REPORTING THE NUMBER OF INFECTED CAST MEMBERS TO THE UNION OR STATE. Also Disney requires you PROVE to the company that you got sick from the company for you to get 2 weeks with pay and no penalty when you quarantine. They aren’t having mandatory quarantine for cast members who may have possibly become infected with COvid19 due to coming in contact with an infected CM.

Well, what can we do? Most people are not going to risk getting COVID to go to a theme park just to help someone get a paycheck. You need customers in order to generate the profit that pays the workers. If no one goes to a theme park (because of COVID) the staff (including managers and owners) don’t get paid.

That girl at the end, when asked what she does all day said, "Watch movies..draw...not much." She didn't even think to maybe look for employment? I'm not going to go into speculating whether or not she's actually injured/too injured to work at Disney, but she said she was asked to come back to work but couldn't because of an injury, doesn't strike me as Disney's fault for her living in a motel off her grandmother's social security check. She could easily work in a call center environment (more than likely even work from home) or another position that's not physically strenuous even if she's not able to physically accept Disney's offer of employment. I'm sorry, but I don't buy into the mentality of, "Well I can't do what I've done for the last couple years, so I guess I just can't work ever again." She's maybe in her late 20s? Find something else

Allow me to personally shed some light on what wasn't included. I am in an ankle brace do to getting injured, my car broke down 3 months and has been sitting since we can not afford the $400 it will cost to fix it, plus renewing the registration and getting insurance on it again. So that alone makes "getting out" and "getting a job" even more difficult. Before you choose to argue working from the room with me I haven't had a computer of any kind other than my phone since January. So please do not assume by my answer that I have done nothing. There was over an hour of this interview that isn't in the video explaining far more about the over situation and what I have tried to do.
