Coming along nicely. Cutting out that supported and making your own was an excellent idea, it's much sturdier than the other bits and pieces. Do you have any of when you'll have it on the road?

Fantastic work on the hose bracket and the home made radiator support. What I want to know is , are you going to strip the entire car to the frame and take care of the rust and any dents or repairs needed to it before you put it on the road ? Or are you just going to get her running and put her on the road ? It would be shame if you didn’t strip her completely and take her her the proper way she needs to be done 😢..👍🏼x 5..

Initially I just want the car to drive and be functional/reliable.... once that's all done. Then I'll wait to tear it apart to give the body of the car more attention

Just wondering but won't that fan shroud restrict flow during normal driving? I used a golf GTI rad for my bug conversion and the shroud had these rubber flaps that would allow air flow through but prevented recirculation when the fan was going. Looks like I need to up my bracket game and finally fix those "temporary" zip ties.
@themechanic6117
@themechanic6117 Жыл бұрын
It's only temporary until it works lol. I'm no engineer, I'm hoping someone did their homework and having the shroud closed off will work lol. I've seen oem fans on car before where it's just a single fan and the rest of it is blocked off....at least I think I've seen that lol. We'll find out eventually if it can keep the engine cool.

For the coolant plug area you talked about - Put a purge valve in there. Looks to be high enough from the camera shot.
