Beautiful work could this method be used doing it in four sections? As in four big squares? Also what did you use for the filling? How thick is it and what is it called. It looked lovely and lightweight enough to use without you struggling.
@themelodyofsewing6369Ай бұрын
You can make as many sections as you like so that it is convenient for you to quilt them. With this method, you can even sew each block separately without having to assemble them into sections first.I used alpolux as a filler. But the filler can be any. I needed a light blanket.I hope the translator conveyed my message correctly.
@debzl8990Ай бұрын
Thank you for speedy reply. I live in the UK and I have tried to find the filling you use but am unable to find it for sewing, it comes up as a house insulation item when I searched. We do have something called polyester waddling but it is much thicker. What you were using looked perfect for your lightweight project. I was wondering if you could possibly give the weight of what you used. I tried with polyester wadding years ago and it was a nightmare. Thank you once again for reply. 😊
@themelodyofsewing6369Ай бұрын
@@debzl8990 Alpolux is easy to work with and pleasant to wear. It comes in different thicknesses: 100, 150, 200. I used the thinnest one. Sold by the meter, not by weight. If I understand you correctly. I think there are fine fillers in the UK that are as good as ours.
@debzl8990Ай бұрын
Thank you once again for speedy reply. I'm going to search again and try different wordings and hopefully find the equivalent or alternative. I did use the thinnest polyester I could find which is 2oz in weight but still had a dreadful time with it. I will let you know how I get on but to be honest I don't think I will have much luck. I'd love to make the quilt you are giving a demo on but with 2oz wadding it will be to thick for my use. 😮
