Dear viewers, some of you have said that you really like my content and that I should have way more viewership and subscribers than I do, and I’m very proud to hear that. So I’m asking you to please help me out by liking my KZbin channel page on FaceBook (just search for “Melvin Wei”) and by directly sharing some choice episode 1s of plant growing series on my channel that you like. I resurrected the FB fan page after a few years of inactivity thinking it might be worth a try to help get the good word out on my KZbin channel and bring a lot of new viewers. I will also post a lot of interesting nature content from other FB pages and some of the pictures from my hikes there, so it won’t be redundant to my KZbin channel. Thank you!

Great series Melvin glad to see you are finally watering using a more traditional method. I think your main problem when starting to grow plants is the baking-steaming of your soil. soil contains benificial bacteria and fungal strains that are vital for exchanging nutrients between soil and root masses especially when plants are young. i know you had the problem with the fungas nats and spider mites. try a direct side by side with baked versus untoughed soil and i think you would be suprised! keep up the good work

Thanks for the encouragement. I will look into getting some wild microbes in there.

Привет, Мэлвин. Я тоже выращиваю маракуйу и пришла к выводу что ей не нравится когда вода попадает на листья. И да, у меня двойной листок , в форме сердца, был у авокадо. Растения тоже умеют признаваться в любви. 😊

It looks great! The size of a leaf is usually depends on the environmental conditions such as temperature, light intensity, water and nutritional supply.

I think they need support such as wire mesh, trellis or something to help them grow upwards more steadily.

I grew my plant from a seed like you in a pot started in April it's now July (~120 days later) and my plant is way further along than what I saw in this video. I didn't do anything except use raised bed planting soil (it's really light and not completely broken down has a lot of organic matter) and water it well. It's in full sun and already climbing a fence with the 3 lobed leaves versus the single leaves at the base of the plant. I'm hoping it flowers and puts out some fruit by October first frost date is around the 2nd week but don't think it will happen (I am in NJ zone 7).

Bought some passionFruit seeds to try to grow some based off inspiration from your channel. If you had to do PassionFruit again would you use coco coir?

Can you show me how to plant quince tree from seed? I am currently working with my passion plant while watching your videos. Thank you very much. It gives me a great help.

Yellow leaves are most likely because of over watering or lack of nutrients. Under watering would cause the leaves to shrivel up

I've been to Tennessee once, saw Kudzu growing everywhere. How does the tea of passion fruit leaves compare to regular tea?

You need to pull the other plants. Keep the two biggest ones but if you keep the other ones they're going to compete for space and it's all going to die.

It is beginning of October and I live in Alabama. I justo planted some passion fruit seeds in a container. Probably if they sprout, they will be dormant for the winter. So you think they can survive for next spring or I will have to plant more seeds?

Awesome. Passion vines (Passion Fruit) grows in the forests where I live. Very aggressive vine Good to see this video. The leaves look very different from the plant that grows in our area. Do you know the scientific name of the plant that you are growing? The plant in Texas is Passiflora incarnata L.

+KennethKramm Great to hear from you Ken! I'm saddened by the discontinuation of your channel but glad you're still on KZbin. I got my 2 fruits from a coworker who inherited her vines when she bought her house so no cultivar information from her end.

Ok my passion plant grew from compost that I added on a pot with bougainvillea now it's growing the same pot as my bougainvillea (looks like a day 50).... How can I transplant the passion fruit safely ? Because I'd like to also have the passion plant on it's own pot
