Name: Fjord Fury Backstory: Deep within the heart of a Viking village nestled on the edge of a wild and untamed fjord lies a legendary tale. The villagers speak of a wooden beast that mirrors the mighty longships their ancestors once sailed. Built by the gods themselves - so the legend goes - it embodies the ferocity of a stormy sea. The story begins when the village's bravest warriors angered the Norse god of the sea, by taking more than their share of his sacred waters. As punishment, the God unleashed a powerful sea serpent upon their fjord, churning the waters and sinking every ship in its path. Desperate to save their home, the villagers forged a pact with Loki, the trickster god, who promised them salvation - for a price. Under Loki's guidance, they built a wooden monstrosity with twisting tracks and roaring descents meant to mimic the serpent's wrath. Loki enchanted it so that the ride would steal the screams of those who dared to ride it, feeding the serpent's rage and keeping it bound beneath the fjord. To improve smoothing I would recommend using the smooth direction tool and smoothing small sections (maybe 2 pieces at a time) of the track backward and forwards throughout the entire layout, this results in smoother transitions as when you smooth large sections at a time the angles and banking tend to get over-smoothed in a way. I would also slightly over-exaggerate angles and banking while doing this to account for the softening that is caused by the smooth function, for example, when you made the double-up, I would make the valley section in between the two hills at a slight negative slope to account for the change in angle that is caused by the smoothing tool.

My name suggestion is 'Brokkr' Brokkr was a dwarven blacksmith in norse mythology who along with his brother eitri made mjolnir (thors hammer). Brokkr kept the fires of the forge going even when loki in disguise as an animal bit him even blinding him temporarily. His name translates to blacksmith

Story line for the wooden coaster and potentially leading into other rides. Rangnarock and his army have returned, the long protected portal has been disturbed leading to a huge scale attack on villages on the outskirts of the town, here (the wooden coaster) the protectors of the village are forging more weapons and preparing for battle as they fear rangnarock may launch an attack on the town centre, battle is the only way to stop this from happening and stopping ragnarock and his army from attacking! As the guests venture further on into the park who knows what carnage and terror has been left in his path....

In Norse culture, Nøkken is believed to be the guardian of lakes and rivers, presiding over their depths with a mix of fascination and malice. It is said that Nøkken can shape-shift at will, assuming various forms to entice its prey. Whether as a seductive maiden or a majestic stallion, Nøkken uses its powers of illusion to ensnare those who dare to venture too close to the water's edge. One of the most enduring legends surrounding Nøkken is its hypnotic music-a haunting melody that echoes across the water, luring listeners into a trance-like state. Those who succumb to the siren song of the Nøkken are said to be drawn inexorably toward the water, where they meet a grisly fate at the hands of the malevolent spirit. The premise of the story in the ride would be that you follow the sound of Nøkken (the queue line with a soundtrack playing) to the water. Once you board the boats, you continue to follow the music until you realize that Nøkken have trapped you into its watery fate. In this show scene, there’s a mix of Fire and Water effects to simulate Nøkken trying to pull you into its watery grave. Suddenly, Njord, the God of the seas comes to the rescue and helps slow down Nøkken as you escape via drop finale. Njord is also the God of riches, and one last show scene of celebration and fortune concludes a happy ending to the ride.

Name Idea: “The Flying Rowan” Reason: In Norse mythology, the Rowan tree has a lot of representation. It’s said that the first woman was made out of a Rowan Tree, and since this is the first coaster visitors see when they enter the park, I think that’s a fun fit! Rowan Trees that grew out of rocks were also said to possess magic, and were used for inscribing runes or protection; they were called “Flying Rowans.” Finally, it’s a woody, so naming it after a tree feels appropriate. ☺️ Story: Hundreds of years ago, magical Rowan trees sprouted up from the rocks. The Vikings who came across them were amazed by their beauty, and decided to build their village close by. Believing this was a gift from Odin, they also created a tribute to the god in the form of a magical structure seen here. They learned that they could manipulate the wood to make trains move along the track, and thus, the roller coaster, “The Flying Rowan” was born.

Coaster Name - Brokkr Brokkr is the Norse god of The Forge. He is said to be the one who forged and created Thor’s Hammer (Mjölnir) Story - You leave the coaster station (Brokkr’s Forge) and are in search of the stolen legendary hammer. Perhaps the near miss could be a hideout or a den for the thieves and as you sweep by you steal the hammer back and must fly away with it, hence the roller coaster. Or you could add another building at the end to be the forge, returning the hammer.

As you have a lot of boats featured in the theming, and the coaster is alongside the water it could be called 'Skidbladnir'. In Norse mythology this boat is known as the best of the best. Because this is a woody, and obviously boats in the viking era (obviously) were made of wood, thought it was a fitting name!

Wooden Coaster Name Idea: Brokkr: Invention of Ambition Storyline Brokkr was the son of Odin, Primrose Forest’s most famous blacksmith and shopkeeper. Odin owned a huge Blacksmith’s on the other side of the Lake to the village, and everyday, Brokkr worked to create more and more ambitious inventions out of steel and wood. Soon, he forged his most advanced design yet. He had designed a high speed rail to transport coal from the mines to the Blacksmith in no time at all. Daringly putting himself in the seat of the prototype, he could only sit and watch as the cart hauled along the track, and crashing into his father’s workshop. The building went up in flames that day, and Brokkr was never forgiven.

nice video, i dont have a name for the wooden coaster, but i have a story suggestion for the coaster: Many many centuries ago, there was a glourios battle at the famous Primrose Lake. and after so many years. Primrose Forest has build an epic wooden coaster to honour the history, and keep to the spirit of the Thrilling and legendary battle alive! (doesnt fit with the industrial aspect i know)

Here's my suggestion for a name and storyline for the coaster! Name: Conquest of Mälaren Story: Built off the back of blood and war, a once great Viking tribe has now settled down on the banks of the great lake Mälaren, novelty shops and family thrills grew to prominence as the locals forgot their once violent ways. However, bitter at their tribe for forgetting the past, a small contingent of rouge Vikings started constructing a settlement across the river, powered by new industrial technology. At the peak of their strength, the Viking rouges have constructed a machine capable of wiping out the peaceful settlement and restoring the tribe to its former power. They will take war across the lake to conquer their old home. This is the Conquest of Mälaren.

Could call the coaster “Tyr” after the god of war. He represents glory in battle and in my head the tagline would be “Tyr - Road to glory” plus to me the station building reminds me of a magical forge. Perhaps the story is that the forge has been blessed by Tyr with a magical sword and you are selected to wield it in battle.

My name suggestion: Björn’s Iron Slide Björn Ironside was actually a real Norse Viking chief and a Swedish king. For the backstory it could be about an untold story about how he thought the people and land was depressing and wanted to make his people and land more uplifting so he invented this fun contraption called ‘Björns Iron Slide’. He saw this as an opportunity to raise people’s spirits because he believed a happier Viking was stronger and more prepared for battle which going on this coaster would have helped with.

Ooh how about this wooden coaster could be named 'Heimdall' according to a Viking names and meanings site, Heimdall is the god who guards the entrance to Asgard which is fitting for a big wooden coaster on the entrance to a park. Perhaps maybe each roller coaster n the Viking area could be themed to a Viking/Norse God? As for the story. Heimdall is the son of Odin, he keeps watch for invaders and the onset of Ragnarök from his dwelling Himinbjörg. He also possesses the Gjallerhorn. So maybe if you want to theme the trains, it could have that on the front?

You should make use of banking offset option when dokng banking and turns. That gives you heartlining. I guess not needed on an old woodie, though. Im doing a viking area myself now. Game is seriously lacking in themes, so short of a modern vibe, that's about your only option.

As for the show’s storyline, a composer comes on a stage ready to conduct a symphony inspired by the different areas of the park. When, all of a sudden, right when he’s about to finish with the Viking section, a mischievous little fox interrupts the show and guides him through a magical journey across Primrose Forest, which culminates in saving the park from a dark force. I could picture pyrotechnics, dancing fountains, lighting effects, lasers, fire and a few animatronics being used in the show.
