Top 10 Favourite Mario Party Boards

Superstars has got me reminiscing on the boards throughout the entire Mario Party series as I would ideally like to see more added post-launch despite how unlikely that scenario is. As a result, I finally ended up with a new subject for a countdown video that I had been lacking for so long, this time going over my favourite boards.

Honestly, the only reason 9 is as bad as it is is because minigames are not after every round, and thus not as frequent. When minigames are such a big part of the game, the best part, this gives it a major hit.

Looks like you got your wish granted for your two favourite N64 boards. NGL, Mario Party 8 is a mixed bag, but the highs are REALLY high. I'd love to see the concept of a board that changes it's layout and goal explored again in the future.

Reasons why Magma Mine is the best board from 9: Any board with a mechanic where opponents can lose stars balances out the Star economy well, and this is the best board to to it, because both with the bobomb and with the boos, someone can get screwed over for existing, but with the magma, you can generally always plan around it, as it comes up at a constant rate of 2 or so spaces per turn. Being able to influence the direction of the car while moving is great, and it’s criminal that it wasn’t included in other boards. The music is a banger It has the 2 of the best boss mini games, both spike and chain chomp are a nice difficulty spike, but if you can react in time, you will never be in trouble. All the bowser spaces at the end can come in handy if you really need a comeback. One of the only boards where the crappy 123 dice block actually can be helpful, however, boos horror castle and bobomb factory uses them better. That one path that leads to the right instead of up is funny, and is the perfect option for people who embrace chaos. Yeah, magma mine is the best board in Mario party 9.

YES! Fair Square is one of my all time favourites. It’s all about risk vs reward. Holding on to your coins until nighttime can feel like buying stocks, the buying low mindset and such, while the outer ring is just a straight up casino with all the gambling. To add on to the chaos, everything gets way more risky at night, which sets off some adrenaline just hoping you land the jackpot on the slot machine.

Boards I like that weren't mentioned here are Mario's Rainbow Castle, Western Land, Spiny Desert, Chilly Waters, Woody Woods, Shy guy's Jungle Jam, Sweet Dream, Towering Treetop, Castaway Bay, Pagoda Peak, Windmillville, Bowser's Enchanted Inferno!, Toad Road, and Bowser Station.

I loved mario party 8. It was my first mario party and Koopa's tycoonI loved mario party 8 it was my first mario party and Koopa tycoon town was the first board I played, and it was also my favourite. I didn't know about windmill vill, so I always saw it as monopoly, but fun and it doesn't take two years to finish a single game

For me, my ranking of the boards is vastly different. I've played alot of Mario Party, and even the current tier list of boards that I've done in this Mario Party series that I've done.... I wouldn't be able to fully rank them but I can list some boards that are my favorite Mario Party 1: Wario's Battle Canyon, and Luigi's Engine Room. (I enjoyed both playthroughs, even the former one where I got screwed over massively due to Cannons switching directions quite a few times +low rolls Mario Party 2: Horror Land, Bowser Land, and honestly Pirate and Western Land were both fun to play Mario Party 3-5: I'm mixed with these games, But I haven't fully played all of their boards just yet. The best board for 3 for me is Spiny Desert, for 4... Boo's Haunted Bash. for 5, it's between Pirate Dream and Undersea Dream Mario Party 6: ALL 6 Boards would be ranked on this list, and it would be tough to decide. I like all of them equally. If I am forced to choose 1... Clockwork Castle. It's such a unique Gimmick that I love it so much. Mario Party 7: All but Windmilleville is ranked on this list.... Though I'd have to go with Bowser's Inferno. It has the best music for a board theme. Mario Party 8: Koopa's Tycoon Town.... Just Kidding, I hate that board. For me, the board I love in 8, is King Boo's Haunted Hideaway. I love how the board is easily the most random out of any Mario Party. Every time I play, I have no idea the outcome and I love it every single time. The goal is simple and yet there is no way to gain random free stars, as the lucky space is a one way trip to King Boo. Added that the last 5 turns, as soon as the Mansion shuffles, all of those coins go away... so if done right, you could easily snag a bunch of coins, find King Boo, then reset the mansion and everybody gets nothing. Mario Party 9: Magma Mine.... It's a cool board and I love the way the board is kind of chill at first until after you defeat the mid-boss. then it gets all hectic as you are racing to the top while also trying to screw over your opponents. Mario Party 10: Not alot of great boards but Airship Central and Chaos Castle deserve credit for being really solid boards. Mario Party DS: Bowser's Pinball Machine... Mario Party Island Tour: Bowser's Peculiar Peak, and Shy Guy's Shuffle City, as well as Kamek's Carpet Ride. All 3 are great. Mario Party Star Rush: Any World 4 Board. Superstars: Horrorland.....

@@iBMcFly It’s motion controls, probably. Personally, I didn’t mind them. 8 is my second favorite Mario Party, only to Mario Party 7. But both 7 and 8 have some banger boards, 7’s personally being better because it has 6 good boards compared to 8 having 4 good boards, 1 okay board, and 1 bad board.

Omg bro I couldn’t agree more. Mario party 8 has some of the best boards in all of Mario party which is unfortunate because a big chunk of the game is mediocre compared to the rest of the games so people tend to dislike it. But Mario party 8 is an amazing game and people should give it more credit. Shy guys express brings back so many memories of when is was younger and is fantastic. 100% favorite board for me!

Yay, someone else who likes Mario Party 8! It was the first Mario Party game I owned (I had played 7 at a friend’s house), and I had a lot of fun with it, especially on Perplex Express. Though I am curious about one thing: if you’ve played any of the games you hadn’t mentioned (1,4,DS,10), what would be your favorite boards for those?

I've never played 1 because it wasn't re-released, but if I had to pick one I like the most based on what I've seen I'd say either Luigi's Engine Room or Yoshi's Tropical Island. This is likely another unpopular opinion, but I've never been a fan of 4's boards both visually and how they're structured. All of them I find meh at best. But if I had to pick a favourite here too I'd probably say Shy Guy's Jungle Jam, the events found in that one just stand out to me more. For DS my favourite is DK's Stone Statue because I really like the snakes and ladders feel in the upper section of the board and buying multiple stars at a time. And 10 would be Airship Central, primarily cause of its theme and visuals.

I unsubcribed from SMG4 back in June because I eventually got sick of being bombarded with Meggy Vtuber videos even though she was supposed to be gone at the time. So I haven't watched anything new from the channel since then.

@@TheMetalBlade5 well I can just spare you the time of having to watch it all. There was a new arc called the Genesis arc which explains the origins of SMG4, 3 and now 1 and 2. As Mario, Smg4, Bob, Axol and Melony. Travel through to the dark web and find SMG4s guardian pod and it explains that they all traveled to the kingdom in them and found that SMG1 and 2’s USB landed in Brazil. Then after a Mario Golf spoof, they arrive in Brazil and travel through new grounds and once there. They see the old universe that 1 and 2 lived in and their avatar spudnick. Zero came, killed spudnick and their universe died but they escaped. And after 3 weeks of filer including a parody of marvels ‘what if scenarios’ Meggy’s return and fixing Axol’s pen that should have been fixed ages ago, we get to the climax, starting with the day he came where an army of shreks kidnap Mario and SMG4 and axol rush after him and get them to open zeros pod, zero catches axol and possessed him. Next is doomsday but Mario is okay. It’s just SMG4 and the gang hiding in a bunker while swag and Chris try to blow the USB up but to no evail. Mario goes for a pee and then we get to Mario and the backrooms.

@@TheMetalBlade5 carrying on so Mario, SMG4 and 3 venture the back room to zeros castle and Axol shows signs of being possessed and traps them in zero’s USB. They go through zero’s mind torture simulator, learn that the SMGs can redirect and transmute meme energy into anything, which i know you will have mixed feelings about. And now we have The final piece where Ax0l uses the USBs to suck the avatar energy out of Mario, they fight ax0l and try to save Mario but to no avail. Melony try’s to get him to snap out of it and enters to his subconscious and it was there that Axol confessed his feelings for Melony. Axol then chains up the gang, brings all the meme energy to the castle and Mario up to the sky to create a new universe. The we get to WOTFI 2021. You get the gist The gang competes in challenges against Mario and the fight ax0l in a rap battle and Melony enters his subconscious once more. She tried to free him and Melony says that she likes him to, she kisses him, Axol dies and the universe is saved. The end. A few notes Melony seems to be the only anti cast member that it even around any more, the fact that SMG3’s can leave the graveyard at will makes the conclusion of WOTFI 2020 pretty pointless, Mario is the avatar and so if he dies then everything dies. So leave me your thoughts and opinions and just a note I’m not hating on anyone for what they say, I respect your opinion

Mario Party 8 probably is the easiest game to just pick up and play. it has some unique spinoff gimmicks and people talk too much trash on it. definately my favorite party game on the wii and id say is nearly as good as MP6 and 7.
